My husband and I stopped by The Tavern on a whim not knowing anything about the place...Oh boy did we stumble upon a local treasure. It was so quaint and spacious despite the appearance from the outside. The food was delicious, the wait staff were all very pleasant, and the restaurant itself was very cozy and clean. I will definitely be bringing my family here sometime to enjoy this hidden treasure in town. The menu ranges from the good old standards, to innovative specials, and elevated ingredients. Pricing is more than fair for the portions they serve.

Parking: The food was good. Had to wait a bit for our food, but they were very busy, so that's understandable. We would recommend The Tavern. Has a nice little neighborhood charm to it. It looked like there were regulars coming in for dinner. That's always a good sign since they know the food and keep coming back.

Quiet little eatery. The food was yummy, and the service was fast and friendly. I try to get back to this little gem as often as I can. A bit pricey for every day dining.

We were staying overnight in the Richmond area while making our way down south. The Tavern was one of the restaurants recommended to us. We were not disappointed. The place was full on a Sunday night (A good sign.) and appeared to be quite popular among the locals. (Another good sign) I had a Greek salad and grilled chicken dish served over rice with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. It was excellent. My partner had the grilled chicken sandwich with Swiss and bacon and French fries. Both were delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was vibrant without being too loud. If we’re in the area again, we would definitely return. Highly recommended.

This was one of my favorite "go to" restaurants in Richmond. We both ordered steak sandwiches, medium well and medium rare, both came with red raw spots, ordered Cokes both came with no carbonation, my wife asked for baked potato rather than fries but got fries and an argument from our server that bake potatoes come with it and she asked for fries (not what the menu says). I wrote a note and gave it to the manager while we were there- who did not respond. Everyone has off days, but it's how you respond, arguments and ignoring your customers is not the way.
