This place had amazing Brunch! Great service, amazing mimosas and the pancakes are out of this world.....and I don't like pancakes! Even the coffee is amazing! Can't wait to eat some of their other amazing food! A true hidden treasure!
Just discovered my new best restaurant in Richmond. A quaint place filled with a pleasant atmosphere that makes you want to sit and visit with friends. Food is outstanding. Chicken salad for lunch with the greens and fruit is delicious. Wine, beer or a cocktail makes it a hit for me.
Today my bf and I went for brunch in attempt to give this place a second shot. The first time we went (last month) was not the best experience but it was more due to the service. 1. The server never brought our ordered drinks. 2. My bf ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese. When it arrived it was missing the soup. When he asked where the soup was, he was told they are all out. She offered the potato soup in its place to which he said ok, but the soup didn't arrive until after we both were done eating. I really enjoyed my meal. I had the veggie quiche with a pancake on the side. They were both AMAZING! Hence why I wanted to try it again. Today was another disappointing experience. The server let us know they were short handed and to bear with them, ok no big deal. Last time time the service was slower so expected it. My bf ordered the breakfast sandwich on a croissant, he was told they were out so a brioche bun was the only option. He's not picky so said ok and asked for a pancake on the side too. I ordered the quiche again, Lorraine this time. Our meal didn't take too long to arrive but when it did my quiche was cold af. Last time it was piping hot. But I was starving so ate it anyway. If the server had come back to ask how everything was, I would've told her and maybe have it heated but she didn't. Lastly, the side pancake was 1/2 the size as our last visit. Think teacup saucer vs dinner plate. With two not so great experiences, we will not be dining here again.
Best thing was we were the only two there my veggies quiche was ok they were premade so didnt have the option to leave anything out the avocado toast was surprisingly good
Best of the Best! Cute space! Friendly staff. Incredible food. Dessert is a must!!! I highly recommend The Wooden Spoon!!! Thank you, Carlos for a very delicious dining experience!!!
The Spanish Hot chocolate is incredible with fresh chocolate it's amazing. When I like something I keep going back I have eaten here like 6 times now. The times I have been I have had the steak ( which is probably the best steak in Richmond), Salmon (which was amazing), and the chicken salad ( which is the best in Richmond ) all dishes have been exceptional. The staff is super nice and we had great service. The food is a 10. I'm going again for b
Wooden Spoon is a hidden gem. I’ve pursued “best breakfast” in terms of ratings and word of mouth recommendations since moving to Richmond in 2016, but never found a breakfast I enjoyed as much as this one. We ordered pancakes and bacon (Boar’s Head, cooked to perfection) and the Tortilla Española. The food was wonderful and the place is sweet.
First dinner out since COVID! We went to The Wooden Spoon on Patterson Avenue. Absolutely wonderful! We had a lovely charcuterie and cheese board, delicious garlic shrimp, amazing beef filet tartar and cherry pastry with Cava for desert. Strongly recommend this restaurant!!
Wonderful restaurant with amazing food. You have to go to appreciate it. Then after you do...tell all of your friends!
Greater Richmond friends & family, don't walk, run to @thewoodenspooncaferva . @jackieestherj & I had the most amazing birthday lunch at this organic, farm to table restaurant. Yvette the owner & chef treated us like royalty, as did Carlos our server. 2nd pic is a wonderful charcuterie plate with Ibérico chorizo, dates, olives, cheese, & dried apricots that went great with the hot midday necessary chilled Cava wine. Next pic is an insanely good asparagus soup. Normally we won't eat hot soup sitting outside in a warm day, but made an exception as she had just finished it. Glad we did. Next pic is a beautiful generous portion for the price, Ibérico ham on manchego & pan con tomate, a great Tuscan style bread with tomato rubbed in it. Delish! Finally we shared this "tortilla de papa," quintessential tapa or main in Spain. A thick omelette she perfectly executed with potatoes & onions, and a great greens salad with an addictive vinaigrette. We are looking forward to trying the many other great looking things on their menu, as well as the great wine list, & cocktails. Right know it is outside seating, but I know that'll change when RVA goes to next phase. Go support this local, woman -owned business.
Wow!! Just wow! I went into the Wooden Spoon for the 1st time last week and the food was sooo good. I ordered the Spanish Hot Chocolate and the Award Winning Chicken Salad Sandwich and I was blown away. I can't wait to come back here when I'm in town next! Their food is all fresh and the atmosphere is cozy. What a great place, I definitely recommend coming here and bringing your friends and family. I can't wait to go back!
Fantastic. Everyone there, even the customers were insanely nice. Only had drinks, but they were fire.
What a wonderful night with their paella special. Not only was the food spectacular, but was great watching chef Daniel prepare paella for the entire group. We will definitely be back.
Chef/owner Yvette Daniel and her team create a fun, informative and delicious evening with authentic Valencian paella prepared by Chef Daniel Domingo. Don't miss this fun evening!
Wonderful experience! Great music by Doug mock!
