Drove from Richlands Va to Tazwell Va and ate lunch at the Front Porch on Main. The interior walls are filled with local artist art work all of which are on sale and create a great warm atmosphere. The place is very clean and the waiter we had was great. The food was delicious and the portions quite large for a reasonable price. What’s great is you can eat inside or enjoy your meal out on the Front Porch. I will be coming back in the future for dinner.

We brought a large group of 20 for dinner to the Front Porch. My choice of entree, Whiskey Glazed Pork Tenderloin, was bland and flavorless. (I left two of four not-so-tender loins on my plate.) My wife got the Grilled Salmon with Mojito Butter. Oddly, her salmon was equally as bland and flavorless as the pork. The other three at our table had steak. Those seemed to be OK. The waiter was good. It was a hot day and the air-conditioner was not working. The worst part of the experience was the attitude of the man whom I assume was the owner. When our group arrived at the time of our reservation, we found that we had not been made aware that the group would be served upstairs. As we had two handicapped individuals, we asked to be accommodated downstairs. We were ushered into the bar, which was fine and appreciated. However, despite there being plenty of room and three, 4-person tables available, the man commanded that only five would be allowed in this sub-group. We hadn't said anything about a particular number. So, it was odd to be hit with a crappy, bossy attitude from a person whose chosen vocation demands hospitality - particularly in a small, rural town, where smiles and pleasantries are everywhere along Main Street!

Passing through Tazwell looking for a place to eat and saw they were open and went inside. We were pleasantly surprised at what a great restaurant it was, and ordered fried green tomatoes and the double cheeseburger and both were delicious. The young man that waited on us was very friendly and helpful ! Definitely recommend The Front Porch in Tazwell !

Went to front porch to eat was told by manager there wasn't anything available was a total of maybe 12 people there the porch had no one this town always wants you shop local but you get treated like you not good enough for there restaurant unless you on a motorcycle or sport car club. That's why local people leave out of town to eat
