While the service was fantastic at Ristorante Bonaroti, I am not entirely sure why so many people are leaving 5-star reviews regarding the food. Ristorante Bonaroti is entirely over-priced considering the quality of the food. The food was extremely salty while not having much flavor. However, the interior was warm and the staff inviting, the food was just not at all as good as I thought it would or should be.

This place was amazing and I can’t believe I have never been until tonight. Very old school original feel. Food, wine, apps, dessert were all so great.
If service could be non-existent, this would be it. Took 20 minutes to get menus and then they did not come back for another 25 minutes. Appetizers were cold (they were not meant to be) and the entrees were brought out at different times. Two were at appropriate temperatures and two were cold so you could not taste the flavors. It took 30 minutes to clear the dirty plates. Overall we spent over 2 hours of wait time during the meal. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever endured.
Service was excellent. Server, wish I remembered his name, was attentive and gave the right mix of checking on us and leaving our party to enjoy our time together. He game great recommendation cot both wine and meals. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try

Ristorante Bonaroti is my favorite Italian restaurant in the DMV. The food so delightful and the service is top notch. Claros always provides us the best experience from beginning to end making our visits extra special. It is always nice that the owner stops by to ensure you are enjoying your meal. On this last visit, I asked if they ever had Arancini as a special. Ten minutes later, the owner surprised us an order of Arancini with tomato sauce. If you desire authentic Italian food and love to be pampered, Ristorante Bonaroti should be #1 your list.

Came here for a birthday dinner and was met with the utmost rudeness by the owner, not even a greeting when I walked in, just scolding. He scolded me over not answering his calls day of to confirm my reservation, when I had already confirm it through the reservation site, and was unable to pick up anyways as again, it was my birthday, and I was out all day. Felt like a little kid being yelled at their parents, not a guest at a dinning establishment. He embarrassed me, and made every single one of my dinning guests feel extremely uncomfortable, for not double confirming my reservation. He seemed to let his emotions of anger take over as well as when getting our table ready and making us wait, though we had a reservation, he started talking under his breath and saying things like “this is what she gets” and speaking angrily in Italian. While wait staff was nice, my table was able to pick up on the fact that neighboring tables who had gotten there after us were being served bread and their entrees before us. We waited over an hour to eat our food. Overall, this treatment from the owner was unacceptable and I would’ve rather gotten McDonald’s for this kind of behavior, I was not treated as a guest or even just as a paying customer. Do not go here with this angry man.

So disappointed! Usually this place is impeccable but my last experience was awful. I understood that Saturdays are busy so didnt mind the wait for my reservation, however we were basically ignored in favor of a nearby VIP table. My order was misunderstood and I had to wait for a refire while the rest of my table ate their food. Awkward and humiliating, especially when they studiously avoided my hungry and angry gaze and fawned over the other table. Nothing was brought for me to eat in the meantime. My halibut arrived looking disgusting and with such a poor texture it must have gone straight from freezer into fryer. Kinda ruined the night. Wont be back anytime soon.
This restaurant never fails to please our taste buds and family feel. The waiters make us feel at home and the food is so authentic. Amazing service and delicious food always! (Coming from a second generation Italian)

I love eating at the tables in the bar. Great atmosphere. People are having fun, and there is a nice buzz, but not too noisy. It’s a nice, homey feel in there. Great chianti and traditional, cheese filled or drenched pasta. Some creative and delicious cocktails too. Service can be a little slow when busy, but not terrible, and you can get the server’s attention when she flits by, because the bar area isn’t huge. After a 20 year absence, I’ve been back 3x in the last year, and it is as great as I remembered.

Old school white table clothe Italian in Vienna. Usually 20+ off-menu specials that are what should be ordered, Pasta portions can be split and ordered by half. Fresh seafood has always been one of my favorites. Wine list is extensive with lots of French and Italian bottles that you can't find elsewhere. Great place for a special occasion, or just a random night when you want a great meal with good service.
