Looks like a fun place. There was a private party so we didn't get to use the pool tables but we had a few very tasty beers and got a flimsy but palatable pizza and enjoyed ourselves on our stop in.

Wow. Color me impressed. I've been to a lot of breweries. This place is awesome. Nice selection of brews with some surprising flavors (try the Gringo Mole Stout, it's somethin else). But it's not your average brewery. The whole place is an old industrial complex and there are three businesses stacked together and working in concert. Basic City is the brewery, then there is the restaurant with amazing wood fired pizzas, and finally there is The Foundry which is the music venue. It's all connected inside with ample seating, and arcade, shuffle board, ping pong... MAN I was surprised. Would love to come back one day, if only I didn't like 2200 miles away.

Their flagship pilsner, Our Daily Pils, is offered in most restaurants in the area… and will often be the only good locally available beer.At their brewery - always new great beers to try, from classic styles to new & adventurous. Always quality. The scene, crowd, staff, and building are always positive and a great hang.Most breweries their size typically compromise beer quality after large growth, but Basic City has kept the quality of their beer front & center.

Cannot recommend the food (other than the pizza). Highway robbery for a minuscule amount of chips and salsa ($6) and $12-13 for small sandwiches with no sides or the very least chips. Beer is usually good but not impressed with today’s offerings. Will be awhile before we return for beer.

I hate to give poor ratings, but I ordered a Redneck RubenESQUE sandwich for $13. It was terrible. There was just a few strands of overcooked corned beef, maybe a tablespoon of overdone sauerkraught. not sure there was cheese. If it had 1000 island dressing, I couldn't taste it. All I could taste was bread. Everything, which wasn't much, appeared to be overcooked. The Horning beer was average. This is my second time there and I cannot recommend the food. The beer is mainly IPA and some lagers. I'm not an IPA fan. It is an interesting looking place that has other things to offer. My low review is only on the food.

Stopped by after walking the nearby Blue Ridge Tunnel for a few drinks and a bite. The Sicilian Lemon Gelato is one of the best sours I've had and I'm so sad that I couldn't get a growler to bring home! The kids enjoyed the pool tables and arcade games. We ordered chips, fries, and pretzels for all and picked it up at The Foundary next door. Snacks were perfect, though the fries were super salty. We had a great time!

I love that Waynesboro has an actual brewery!! Basic City is located on the East side of the town and at the foot of the mountain. It's a beautiful location with indoor/outdoor seating. The decor is basic and beautiful and they also offer tours to their showroom!! The service is great and food is very yummy!! I highly recommend to visit this place, you don't want miss out on great food and beer.
