Very nice with a intimate feel. Came in with a large group on Saturday and we all enjoyed our teas, food, and atmosphere.
Areas to improve on: I wish they would consider upgrading their mugs to tea cups. It would look nicer in photos and be shared online more.

Nice place for a cup of tea with finger sandwiches and scones, complete with clotted cream. Friendly staff, tasty food.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp by entrance, easy to navigate within the restaurant.

The service was amazing especially considering there was 2 wait staff and we were outside for a mystery dinner! They were very attentive to us and made us feel welcomed and unrushed! The food was much better than I espected as I was there for the ambiance and recieved so much more! Jimmy, the owner, greeted and/or spoke with each guest which is impressive. The murder mystery was a wonderful "staycation" get away for me and my mom, which we both needed!
This was the second time I had been there. The first time, my friend and I were treated like royalty by staff - I feel like a bad guest because I can not remember his name! There was nothing we asked for and didn't recieve and they were not out of anything.
I hope to see more community programs here like the murder mystery dinner. I would love to see a tea party for adults. You know - hats, gloves, dresses or collared shirt and tie with danty flowers on the table.
Thanks, Lisa

Our reservation was at 2:00 PM and they were still setting up the dining room as the previous party ran late (understandable). All the 2:00 parties who were congregating in the door/dining room were then seated and our tea order was taken (we were told they were out of quiche). At 2:45 we had to remind a staff member no one had taken our order (frustrating as it seemed every other table had some sort of food). The waitress had to ask us twice for our order, as she forgot and they were probably short staffed. The waitress then said they only had blueberry scones (not even a plain scone was available). At 3:14 we got our first bite of food (soup) and we shared our experience with a male staff member who was walking around checking in on guests. We were told they were backed up in kitchen and the gentleman apologized for our displeasure and stated a discount would be given. At 3:22 we finally got our tier of food however the raspberry white chocolate scones (not blueberry) were raw in the middle (despite being warm). When we brought this to the man’s attention, he assured us they were cooked but moist due to the raspberries (I beg to differ). He then offered a plain scone (which we were told they did not have) as a replacement. The $82 meal was discounted to $69 but we should have left after being ignored for nearly an hour and paid the $30 no show fee. They should not mix “Princess tea” with “regular tea” guests- their Princess Jasmine was an unconvincing Caucasian female who should've worn a black wig. Bottom line: drive to Petersburg, Va to the BLUE WILLOW TEA ROOM for an authentic tea experience. (The attached photo is of their tea cups that their designer had picked out- I had inquired about them because to me it gives off office/diner vibes).
Parking: There seems to be enough spots but the lot can be a bit tight when people are coming and going simultaneously.

What a delightful little place. Such a cool experience! The food was delicious and more than enough to fill us up for the day ahead. I'm so glad we made this a stop on our trip. Thank you!!

The food was excellent!good selection of tea sandwich’s on soft bread delicious warm scones Service was good as well. Only issues was finding the place, the sign was mostly logo and couldn’t see from the road we drove past twice before we found it, I’d suggest bigger sign where the word tearoom is visible also the interior felt like an old lady’s living room set inside a strip mall. The linens on our table were very wrinkled and covered in lint. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would go back because the food was so good but in the interest of attracting more customers get a new sign and redecorate with brighter fresher colors maybe add some plants or windows to feel more like a garden tea party atmosphere.

Disappointing selections. Quiche was served in a tin, was all egg, no cheese or spinach. Sandwiches were ok…best part of the meal. The cream and lemon curd were nice, scones not so much. “Desserts” were store bought brownie bite and a slice of danish. Cubed cheese and fruit were also disappointing. This tea room has such a great opportunity to step up their game.

We need more tea rooms in the Peninsula, and the folks here are doing a great service for the area. Great idea!

FINALLY! We get a tea room and British - not Americanized Fish & Chips British but honest-to-God British - pub fare on the peninsula ?The dishes are authentic and the food quality solid, worthy of any Public House in the UK, and I can't wait to work my way through each of them!It was great to see the owner walk through and stop at each table to take feedback and answer questions - a "personal touch" that shows the engagement and heart poured into this place.Oh, and do not miss out on their stout if you're there for dinner - it's non-alcoholic, so anyone can imbibe, and it's the perfect pairing with the food.

What a lovely place to have afternoon tea! And they offer a smaller cream tea (tea, scones, jam, and cream) as well as high tea, which is wonderful as I can never eat everything served for high tea. Service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is relaxing, prices are more than reasonable, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. (They also support the Wes Strong Foundation, something very close to my heart.) My one suggestion would be to serve clotted cream instead of the York cream, which I found a bit too sweet, but that's my personal taste buds. I definitely will be back to try the quiche !
