Had a wonderful experience at the Tillerman in late October. Stayed for 5 days at the Inn and dined at the restaurant twice. All staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful, particularly the pastries. The lounge with the fireplace was very warm and cozy, even with diners adjacent to the seating it felt very homely. The room had no TV which was ideal for us. Definitely considering the location for our future wedding!
Parking: Approximately 25 spaces
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp leading to the side door into the restaurant. One room is located on the main floor for accessibility.

We visited this location as it was written up in The NY Times. My family thought it was awesome. I thought it was on par with other wood fired pizza places. The place was nice and service was excellent. I thought the food was ok but very pricey.

My husband and I got married at the Tillerman in June and the whole experience was exceptional. The venue itself is lovely, the perfect mix of historical charm and modern updates. What really made the difference though was the amazing staff. Kenzie coordinated with us as we were planning the wedding and was so friendly and helpful, and responded to a million emails that I sent her with different questions. The day of, the staff was on top of every detail and served an incredible meal that many guests said was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding, if not the best food they'd had ever! We feel so lucky to have found the Tillerman and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a quintessential Vermont wedding.

Appetizers were good, but both pizzas we got came out very burnt. We also went in the summer and the restaurant was very hot.
We came for the pizza - got the whole wheat crust that had a good texture, and locally made spicy pepperoni. Was great with the nice bottle of red wine we had, and enough for two. The plum tart and rich chocolate gelato were divine, and I thought the creative and extensive list of crafted after-dinner drinks was fun. We chose a bitter orange one for the gelato, but you can do a flight.
The Wednesday night live-music staged outside on this beautiful property, where locals gathered to enjoy, made it an evening worth remembering. Run by very caring business owners that reflect that vibe throughout their staff. HIghly recommend.

With great admiration we have lovingly adored the opportunity to dine at The Tillerman since they opened. This evening was exceptionally memorable with the superb menu and attentive service. The thoughtful culinary artisan selection provides satiating fulfillment whilst pairing with your favorite wine or cocktail. Indeed, The Tillerman delivers again and again season after season. Bravo!

The pizzas hardly had any ingredients on them and was mostly a bitter tomato sauce with a couple teaspoons of Parmesan cheese.

Horrible experience. Okay food, but not kid friendly. They had one high chair in the entire restaurant and suggested our baby could sit on a pillow instead. They brought us a high chair when we were nearly done with our meal, after almost 1.5 hours. They served a whole wedding before bringing us our pizza, with no explanation of why it was taking so long. No one apologized for the inconvenience, even though they saw us struggling with our toddler. We were there to celebrate my 40th birthday, which I told the restaurant host, and nothing changed in the service. I would never recommend this restaurant.

8-21-24. I had to try this highly acclaimed pizza restaurant. Will, Peter and my waitress? Attended to me. I had to make a reservation to sit at the bar that I was the only one at and told to sit in a specific bar stool. An extremely limited menu with even fewer toppings for the pizzas. A HUGE wine list. I went with the pepperoni pizza with a mixed drink and the sorbet for dessert. I also bought a t-shirt. The havea free concert each Wednesday, so I stuck around and listened for a song. It was raining like crazy, but we were in a barn with benches and lighting. An added plus to a nice experience.

The host was incredibly unkind when we arrived. The dinning area was unbearable hot, the water was room temperature, no straws were provided with beverages, no salt or pepper on the table. We have been doing a pepperoni pizza tour of VT and had high hopes for Tillermnans. It was an all around disappointment. Food was average at best.

We’ve been to the Tillerman restaurant several times and have enjoyed the food and setting immensely. This visit was different. Our waitress frowned and frowned and forgot to bring things: from table salt to sparkling water to cream for my coffee. The coffee sat there getting cold while we waited. And waited. The cream never came. It may seem like a small thing, but it was a bummer, especially because we have come to expect more from The Tillerman. We’ll go back, I’m sure, but maybe not as soon as we would have the service been up to par.
