Cool place to get some locally made spirits in Burlington. It has bottles to go, or you can try a few of these at the counter. Smuggler's Notch is one of a few distilleries in town. Have a few of their liquors in a flight. The cocktails are made to go, so think about getting those as well. A lot of liquors to choose from. It's not like a bar, so it only has taster samples. Try a flight and sample a few of these. It's 4 of the liquors. Pay $5 to get a flight, and bottles can be $15 or more. Among the choices is the Blueberry Liqueur. Tastes a lot like pancake syrup. Among the more traditional ones, the Maple Whiskey is the best. This is a good use of local products and stuff. For sure go here if wanting to get some of the locally made liquors. It's just the liquors, so no food or anything like that. The flights are the best option if wanting to try a few things.

Sam deserves 6 stars! He sold me on the $5 tasting and it was well worth the time. He was so knowledgeable of the notes and finish of each spirit and was just an overall joy to talk to. I really hope I will be able to order more bottles as holiday gifts to my family back home in CA. Thx Sam for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend any whiskey or bourbon or even just a maple syrup lover to come in to check out this quaint shop in the heart of DTB. Cheers!

Well I can’t think of any reason not to stop in while walking down Church St. You can get four little sips for just $5. That seems like a good deal to me. They have lots of choices from two different distilleries and the shop sells big and small bottles as well as accessories like flasks, glasses, etc. Try the maple gin and the Vermont honey bourbon. Both pretty unique and interesting.

Kind staff and they do 5$ liquor tastings

This is a cute little storefront where you can do tastings. We actually had vouchers for free tastings, but I think it was 4 for $5. There were many to pick from, so it was a challenge to only pick 4! We liked them all, but the clear favorites were Maple Bourbon and the maple bourbon creme liquor. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the products and the area. Definitely pop in if you're in the area!

What a great pit-stop for the girls while the guys visited a store down the street! Located in the middle of a major shopping area, this is everyone’s dream to have a tasting room next to clothing and candy stores! We tasted local booze like vodka, gin, whiskey and others. The guy who poured our tastes was very nice and knowledgeable. There was room for two parties to taste at a time and they had little local gift items and items that pair with drinks. It was a tiny but cute little stop. We were flying home so we couldn’t buy bottles to take on the plane, but my friend bought several bottles to be shipped which was a nice option for travelers. Stop here if you get a chance!

Super cold Thursday evening - this spot was a welcome respite in the still-bustling street. Inside there was no one else inside as we looked through all the bottles available. Guy behind the counter pointed out the tastings and figured it was worth going through. The tasting consists of any 4 spirits of your choice for ($5). Good variety in strength and type, though many maple forward options. Really liked the maple bourbon, as it wasn't too pungent or sweet. Maple gin was only okay, not as evenly balanced. The regular gin and bourbon offerings were more ideal, though very strong on its own. Thankfully split the 4 small shots between the two of us since we hadn't had food yet (no snacks for sale here).Things are generally well priced, and they have smaller bottles to buy as well. A welcome respite if looking for a quick perk-up.

Did a short tasting at Smugglers' Notch Distillery & Vermont Distillers on Saturday afternoon. A quick and easy way to try some new spirits, and don't be surprised if you take some home.Quality: While the more standard alcohols did not stand out, everything with maple did, as you would hope in Vermont. I loved the Maple Liqueur, the Maple Bourbon, and the Maple Cream Liqueur. Don't hesitate to try the other liqueurs as well, but the maple options are the winners in my book.Quantity: Four tiny pours with each Tasting.Value: $5 for a Spirit Tasting.Ambiance: Smugglers' Notch Distillery & Vermont Distillers is a combination tasting room location in Burlington. They have a long line of different spirits on the main counter and encourage guests to try different options. The store is simple and small, which can feel cramped, but once you have some of the warm spirits it feels cozy.Crowd: A small line on Saturday afternoon.Service: Friendly and personal, but can mean a wait for others to finish their tastings.Parking: Street parking a few blocks away.

We went here because we got a free spirit tasting from our airbnb and we were pleasantly surprised at the great selection they have for tasting. Definitely try the maple bourbon and maple liqueur - both were delicious! The lady at the counter pouring out drinks was very lovely, helpful, and welcoming! Keep in mind that it’s a tiny shop, you do tasting at the counter, and no seating area, but it’s so worth dropping by here.

During our CT->NH->VT->NY trip, we actually made two separate trips to the tasting room. Of course, we went home with three of our favorites (Maple Cream, Maple, & Blueberry). Plus, a jar of tipsy pickles. Next time, we will take more home on the first trip but definitely worth going back to try more flavors. Very tasty options for $5! Great product.

I stumbled upon this place while out with co workers. One taste tested and enjoyed it. I purchased a Liqueur I can't wait to try. Evan was working and was very pleasant and helpful!
