So grateful to have a theater in our town. Doubly grateful for it having absolutely fantastic food too.
Great place to watch a movie
As a community, we count ourselves incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful Theater (and much more than a Theater) here in town during a time when so many Theaters are having to close their doors due to dwindling foot traffic. The Marquis is constantly trying to keep their offerings frsh and inovative. They provide great movies, food and entertainment that we all should support. We are grateful for their dedication to our community - thanks team!
The sign isn't up on the outside. There's a parking lot behind the building. Cute little theater. 4 rows of comfortable seats in the theater we were in.
You might be tempted to walk by thinking that burritos from a movie theater can't be all that good. But you'd be wrong. We totally enjoyed our food that you can customize with add-ons. We had one with sweet potatoes, and another mushrooms. Highly recommend going here for food and drink even if you can't make it to a movie. The dining room in the back is perfect for groups, too. Fast and friendly service, too.
It was a combination of things. Lack of help from staff trying to get off shift, equipment trouble, the movie wasn't good; it just wasn't a pleasant experience.
Went to the opening day of Beetlejuice and decided to go here instead of NY to avoid the huge crowd. One of the BEST decisions ever and this theatre is one of the best places. The theatre has regular movie theater seats but in the front cozy couches. You can buy dinner in the cafe and bring it into the movie to eat and/or buy concessions instead. This place is 100% hidden gem.
Middlebury's gem. Greatest movie theatre I've ever been to, and I've seen my share. Exceptional staff, amazing food and drinks (plus you get to take them into the theatre with you), and a perfect atmosphere. Get there early to grab the couch seats and place your food orders. Trivia Thursdays are the best!
Went to the opening day of Beetlejuice and decided to go here instead of NY to avoid the huge crowd. One of the BEST decisions ever and this theatre is one of the best places. The theatre has regular movie theater seats but in the front cozy couches. You can buy dinner in the cafe (Mexican) and bring it into the movie to eat and/or buy concessions instead. The staff is insanely nice and helpful. This place is 100% hidden gem. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went to this theater one day when it was pouring. I was camping at the Bradbury State Park, and after the second day of straight rain, we all got cabin fever (or possibly tent fever?) and decided to find an activity to pursue in the town of Middlebury. And I am glad we decided on a movie!
This theater is so cool, and though I saw a movie that didn't entirely interest me, or my family, the ambiance made it a wonderful experience! I loved how the seats were actual chairs it made it very comfy, and my parents fell asleep during the film!
I think that my experience at this theater has something to do with my love of independent business. As someone who has only ever been to chain movie theaters, it felt refreshing to watch an ad before a movie that was for a local business. There is something to be said about the communal feeling that independent businesses can create. Each choice made by this theater was intentional, and I could feel that intentionality when sitting in a packed theater on a random Tuesday watching the most recent Indiana Jones movie. It is a feeling that the sterile, mostly empty, movie theaters that come with chains like Regal can't recreate.
Go see a movie here, even if it isn't your favorite, you will at least get a good nap!

Intimate theater setting. Great prices. I loved that there were couches to cuddle on in addition to regular theater seats.
Reasonably priced theatre that was clean well maintained. The staff were pleasant and the couches up front are an interesting touch. The quality seems like what you’d expect, but with the screen recessed at the back of the stage, seats on the side did have the very edge of the screen blocked a little. Get there early and sit in the middle.
The only criticism is that it was possibly the worst popcorn I’ve ever had from a movie theatre, and I love almost any popcorn. I go to the movie theatre experience mostly for the popcorn! For the Sunday matinee the popcorn consisted of tiny puffs that were tough and flavorless. We opted to have butter added, but it just tasted like gross, greasy flavorless oil. (As if the butter separated and all we got were drizzles of flavorless oil). They did have a salt shaker at the counter, but the problem here wasn’t a “just add salt” kind of solution. If you’re feeling peckish, I’d recommend anything but the popcorn.
As a new resident to the area, I must see that I haven’t been to a cozy and quaint will be theater in a long time. This place certainly makes up for lost time and definitely will become one of my favorite theaters to go to. The staff was very cool and laid-back. The were very professional and courteous, and the movie theater itself was extremely comfortable. The sofas towards the front end of the theater gives it a nice home theater feeling. Again I definitely will be back and I can definitely say that if anybody’s wondering if that’s a good place for a movie date, I strongly recommend it!
Great staff. Fun menu. Food was well prepared and quick.
Great local theater and food!
