Hey Dan...I'm reading TOO MANY really bad reviews by recent patrons. It's really nice that you respond to some.. but REALLY Dan.. saying the same apology over and over is going to make things ok?!JUST WHERE ARE YOU during these bad events?!I've been in your managerial position many years ago. It was MY responsibility to visit each table and guests to insure the quality and reputation we deserved. Of course a restaurant can't please everyone all the time, however, we never let people leave that for whatever reason, didn't enjoy the place, service and food. You nip these things in the bud and don't let them fester into very bad reviews, like what I continue to read.A friend just gave me a gift card for the windjammer.. I will try it again soon. If it is a similar experience to what I'm reading.. I'm not shy.... YOU will be the person I will want to see to make things good.. right then and there.LawrenceEssex jctre Rx

Food was decent and the server was fine however adding a 1.5% kitchen service fee to the check that is not disclosed is scammy. Also kitchen staff shouldn't need tips because they should be getting paid a normal wage unlike service which get paid $2 /hour. The fee is also amusing since it took over an hour to get our food from when we ordered. Pay your people, maybe the kitchen wouldn't be so slow.

My wife and I took off for a night away, and had dinner at Windjammers! It was fantastic! Gwen, our server, was on point! She was fantastic, polite, kind and very attentive. The food and drinks were just as on-point!Everything was great! When we visit the area again, we will definitely be back! And we will be sure to tell our friends!Erick and Tobatha Thibodeau

We entered downstairs at 6:30. We were told we'd have a "better chance of being seated" upstairs in the pub, so we did that. We ordered beverages (2 waters, one beer) around 6:35 and then ordered our meals (potato skin appetizer, beef stew special, burger special, grilled chicken sandwich) a few minutes later when our drinks arrived (around 6:40). At 7:10, after watching tables who came in after us get multiple rounds of drinks and even their entrees, I asked our server where the appetizer was. He said it'd be out in a minute. At 7:15, we were served overcooked (dark and crispy) but cold potato skins. While we were eating these, the server came back to say that they'd "just sold out" of the burger special and we had to choose something different. My friend ordered a different burger. At 7:45, we still didn't have our entrees. My husband went and found the waiter and explained we had an 8 pm concert to attend, asking where our food was. Our food was brought to us at 7:50, a full hour and 10 minutes after we placed our order. The chicken sandwich was completely charred and the burger that was ordered medium-rare was well done. During that whole wait time, the waiter never came back to refill drinks. We left the restaurant at 8:05.It is unbelievable that other tables were in and out faster than it took us to get a simple appetizer. This waiter needs major training. It's clear he didn't put our order in when he took it. We were late to the concert we paid good money to see due to his ineptitude. We will not be stepping foot in this restaurant again.

I’ve been going to the windjammer for probably 25ish years. I really enjoy it. It’s on the fancy side but not pretentious or fussy. In the past, I had always thought the food was excellent but the menu was lacking. This last time we visited, the menu was showing some really exciting new options! The prices have definitely risen but I would say that the menu selection and quality of the food has kept up. It’s not the *same old thing with a new price tag* or *less for more*.Get the bacon appetizer… thank me later.

Hadn't been here in a few years, so my wife and I decided to give it a go. Wife ordered a salad topped with salmon. After a lengthy wait, our server admitted that she had accidentally ordered shrimp on the salad instead. She dropped off the salad, which was hot from being under a heat lamp, and still had the odor/taste of shrimp. She said the salmon would be a few minutes later. It arrived solo on a small plate maybe 5 minutes later. Pretty miserable way to deal with your mistake. We figured at the very least a discount on the check... but no. Simply won't ever be back.
I have been a patron of the windjammer multiple times in the past and normally steam is my go to meal….But this evening we finally returned back after a long break to find no salad bar , high prices and smaller portions than even before. The chicken was dry and the mashed potatoes nearly uneventful as well as the fries cold and the broiled seafood platter was made for a happy meal.Bring back the portions and reliable food please ??
