Very nice evening of delicious food while watching the pros in the kitchen preparing the various dishes. Particularly liked the grilled pork chop over brussell sprout slaw and apple butter paired nicely with a glass of wine. Shout out to the bartender and his Rob Roys served up! Very good!

Worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. On 02/13/24, my wife left a voicemail with The Plate to make a dinner reservation for our anniversary dinner on 02/22/2024 more than one week in advance. The next day, 02/14/2024 at 3:45 p.m. (incoming call, I double checked our phone records) she received a call back from The Plate confirming our reservation. The employee mentioned that there were no 6:00 p.m. reservations available but they could get us in at 5:45 p.m. My wife confirmed and we were looking forward to the meal. We arrived dressed up to celebrate our anniversary dinner, and the hostess seemed to have trouble locating our dinner reservation. My wife gave our first name, spelled our last name, gave our phone number, and they could not locate the reservation. A manager came along and said we're not on the list, but we could sit at the bar. We left and ordered takeout. So disappointing.

A true 5/5 experience. What stood out to me the most was the host staff. They made sure we were well taken care of, with a drink in hand while we waited to be seatedThe food was fantasticI had a beer so no cocktail commentThe waitress was greatThe bannana dessert was super good.I only wish they were not out of the Korean chicken wings

We went in for cocktails and let me tell you, Brian is an excellent bartender ( mixologist in my opinion ) he’s so attentive. The drinks he made with Mezcal were decadent… We had a few appetizers and they were delicious!!! You won’t be disappointed!!! Trendy spot with a nice vibe to it.

During our family outing, we stumbled upon a restaurant that appeared to be quite appealing from the outside. Intrigued, we decided to give it a try. However, as soon as we entered, we sensed some discontent from the staff, although they didn't express it verbally. It became clear later on that they were not fond of walk-in customers, but we were unaware of this at the time.We requested a high-top table near the windows, but were promptly informed that it had been reserved. It seemed improbable to us that a specific table in an empty restaurant would be reserved hours in advance, but we understood that every business has its own practices. We asked for an alternative table near the window, to which they reluctantly seated us after attempting to put us all the way in the back near the kitchen, again, despite the restaurant being empty mind you. For the record, They didn't mention anything about this table also being reserved or any time constraints for our dining experience.Once seated, our waitress greeted us politely and took our drink orders. We were relaxed and enjoying ourselves until she returned and seemed surprised that we hadn't considered ordering any food yet. We promptly placed our food order, and this was the only instance where the server's demeanor was less than professional. I couldn't help but feel a bit awkward, as if we didn't belong there if we were only planning to have drinks with our family. After that initial hiccup, the service became impeccable. The bartender even engaged us in pleasant conversation, adding to our enjoyment of the evening. However, the waitress reluctantly approached us later on to inform us that there had been a prior reservation for our table. This information was not communicated to us at any point during our stay. It was requested that we settle our bill within the next 10 minutes, which left us feeling dissatisfied. Being rushed out of a restaurant, especially when there were plenty of available seats, was a new and unpleasant experience for us. We felt that they could have easily seated the other party near the kitchen, as they had initially planned to do with us.Nonetheless, since we were nearing the end of our meal and drinks, we had no issue accommodating their request within a reasonable timeframe. I left a generous tip of around 25% for our server and the bartender, appreciating the service they had provided. However, the owner abruptly appeared with a printed copy of the bill, demanding that we vacate the table so that another group could be seated. Her approach was forceful and somewhat rude, despite us never exhibiting any rudeness towards her.As a result, we had to gather in a group near the restroom hallway while my daughter used the facilities, as we had no designated waiting area like our own table. During this time, we encountered the party waiting for our table. We engaged in polite conversation and shared some light-hearted jokes about the strict policy of needing to vacate the restaurant within a certain timeframe due to other reservations. It was simply meant as a lighthearted jest, and we never intended to be disrespectful, especially to a party that had no involvement in our abrupt request to leave. Contrary to what the owner may claim, there was no rude behavior, vulgar language, or offensive gestures. I am disheartened that the owner would stoop so low as to fabricate such accusations in order to maintain a positive image in reviews. Such dishonesty is beneath any establishment in which I would choose to dine. Despite the unfortunate behavior of the owners and hostesses, the restaurant itself has many positive aspects. However, due to our overall experience, I can only give it a two-star rating.

This place could be amazing except for the rude staff. Food is different but interesting. Again staff is the worst! If you are a tourist they don’t treat you very well. Please make sure you have a reservation because after 2 hours they want to kick you out. I wouldn’t recommend it to any tourist.I guess the place has responded my review with false information. First of all I did not demand a specific table, we simple asked if it was available and they gave us the table we wanted. Second of all we informed the party waiting, who were in fact very polite, about the 2 hour policy we were told by the time we were demanded to leave our table.. never prior. I understand that each establishment has their own rules and I am ok with that I am not ok with the way the person who came up to us with the bill and said we had to leave on a very unprofessional manner stating that we had been there for 2 hours and 45 minutes already as if it was my fault that I was eating with my family. Again I don’t have a problem with your protocol but I do have a problem with the handling of your business and your customers and I want everyone who visits your place to know about the 2 hour limit. If I would have known since the beginning I would had been better prepared. Please state your facts correctly, this is an informational review for others and you are misleading with your answers. I never leave reviews but today I have felt so offended that I felt the need to leave one. I wish you the best on your future businesses. For the readers now you know what to expect.

The dishes are appealing to the eye but not tasty at all. Ingredients don't go together and the flavors just aren't good. Cocktails were pretty good, 4 stars on that. I think they need to get a new chef and rework the menu.

I posted a review last night regarding being unhappy with our seating. The Plate gave a long response about trying to help Michelle. There was no Michelle in my party of two when we made our reservation. She clearly had an issue with another party in memory as we had only one conversation with the restaurant and no callbacks etc. after checking my paperwork the reservation was made 12-28 by Jennifer.

First time customer for dinner. Made a reservation one week prior. We arrived for our 6:30 pm reservation excited to enjoy dinner only to be told we were going to be seated at a counter away from the other diners to be facing the kitchen staff. We chose, however, to be seated at the bar and enjoyed our meal. Interestingly there were open tables from the time we arrived until the time we left and when we asked if there was another table available, we were told not until 8pm. Staff was very nice, however, we will not be back. After the Restaurant Response, please let me say there was no “Michelle” in our party, I only spoke with the restaurant once, and at no time were we ever offered or told of the “Chef’s Table”. I believe she has another party in her mind.

Our third visit to Plate in the last 12 months, this time a $7 side of roasted potatoes was 1 and 1/2 blackened fingerlings. Waiter thought that was acceptable. Seems like they are trying to take advantage of wealthy out of town visitors. Left with a very bad feeling.

We found this restaurant while walking downtown & loved it so much the first night we went back again after bailing on a disappointing 10 minutes at the Tipsy Trout (see TT review). The bartenders are awesome they remembered us from 2 nights prior. We sat at the bar both times & the service was great. The bartenders found time to chat while making their special cocktails. The food was excellent, good wine choices and it was obvious they appreciate the business and took care of their customers. Prices were reasonable too. Definitely on our repeat list.
