Really this is 2.5 stars but yelp doesn't allow the .5 to happen so here we are. We stayed at the Lodge at Spruce Peak and they advertise Solstice as a great option to dine in the lodge. When we first visited Stowe 2 years ago we LOVED Solstice for dinner. They had such tasty options, so we were excited to come back and have more. To our dismay the menu was drastically cut down, price increased, and location moved. We understand with COVID things change and staff shortages can happen so when we realized that they were fully booked for dinner we opted for take out. First let me say, $20 for chicken wings seems absolutely insane. This price gouge left such a bad taste in my mouth. You can drive down the street and get wings for $10. It seemed so high, especially since I imagine as an appetizer it doesn't come with more than 7 wings. During our first stay the food seemed a bit more "elevated" and had more variety. This menu seemed very limited and very basic. Also note, the lunch and dinner menu are virtually the exact same, so really there isnt much variety here. After perusing the menu we chose the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, a pulled pork sandwich and buffalo chicken tacos. We wanted some cider but didn't see any cider options on the menu, which felt weird because there are so many cideries around. I called and had to inquire what options they had and the guy on the phone said they had Stowe cider high and dry but since it wasn't online to just "randomly pick a beer and put that you want the Stowe high and dry cider instead" as a work around. Boyfriend got the food and we ate in our room. The sprouts were actually really really tasty, certainly the only thing I would've ordered again. They weren't very crispy but were balanced with good flavor. The ciders were requested and were told about....didn't happen. We were given tipps up instead as they didn't actually have high and dry. Whatever, a small miscommunication, but I'm glad I picked the cheapest beer as my "drink" because that's what we paid for it. No idea if that was right or not. The pulled pork was eh at best, the bun was very soggy and the pork had more of a braised pork you'd find in tacos or burritos, not a bbq pulled pork with coleslaw. The buffalo chicken tacos also did not have a great balance of flavors. They were spicy, soggy and nothing to really tame the heat. The tortillas also fell apart. Overall currently I wouldn't recommend coming here, which is a shame. Between what feels like a price jump and a weird balance of flavors on 2/3 of the dishes I would recommend only sticking with apps (not $20 wings) and enjoying bigger meals elsewhere if you can. Hope they can step it up next time we visit.

This place is a hit or miss. Unfortunately, we only ran into miss this week! We started off at the bar once we arrived at the hotel itself and we wanted to order food but the bartender told us he couldn't order food off of his kiosk, we had to put in an online order and wait an hour and a half. Once we had the chance to place an order, we ordered the burger to go and it was really good! The next morning, we had breakfast. It was ok, just the basics here. We then tried dinner on Thursday and got our meals and there was so much oil in the food, our stomachs started hurting! We then tried dessert because we were still hungry, I got the ice cream sandwich and my ice cream was so frozen I couldn't even eat it. Would only recommend if you don't want to leave the property of spruce peak and sticking to the "finger foods" or appetizers! Drinks were great and staff was great too!

Breakfast was mediocre but a good deal. Dinner was not so good, we wanted to like it but could not overlook the rawness of my burger. I did ask for medium rare but it was frozen in the middle. Liked the fries.

Good food, service could be better.

Very underwhelming breakfast. Over $100 for 4 people and the buffet (no menu service was offered due to temporary location and limited staff) included basic breads / fruits, pancakes and scrambled eggs. Food tasted good, but for the price they are charging they should do better.

This review and rating is based on the process of accountability of ensuring if an order is placed that the recommended time frame suggested online to recieve your food is accurate. We ordered at 7:30 pm for dinnner (PB&J sandwhich, scoop of ice cream and a burger) nothing fancy or special or out of the ordinary. 8:30 pm was our ordered due time. I would hope this time frame included the fact of time ordered, how busy the resturant itself was and the shortage of staff to run the restuatant which i took in account for but i was sadly mistaken. At 9 pm i decided to walk over to check on the staus and was told it was going to be another 15 minutes. Resturant was not not packed at all. At 9:20 i asked again only to find out my order is not even in the que yet to be prepared. The resturant closes at 10 pm. I was told another 30 minutes. Question now is how hungry am i and my kid? Thankfully we prepare for these worse scenarios for our kids but not so much for use parents. I would rather you tell me the truth vice give me a sense of hope for food. Did i mention i was not the only family waiting!

Good food and very friendly service The selections were limited and not very creative. Additionally there were not a good variety of local options The setting was nice and our server The preparations were well done and overall a pleasing meal.

We ordered pancake, Omelette toast and fruit platter as to go.When we came back to the room to have breakfast we see that maple syrup was missing for pancake, toast was missing and strawberries in the fruit platter was mushy. The restaurant was in the same location where we stayed and thought of trying it. The resort and its service is really good but this restaurant does not provide similar service.

This is a good restaurant, but food options are very limited and the menu has not changed for a long time. There is no international presence in the menu. Would love to see Middle Eastern food, or Asian food options

We had a wonderful breakfast at Solstice. The food was great, truly a top experience. The servers were also wonderful. The only criticism overall is that the restaurant itself is heavily used and looks worn down. Also, although the hostess served us without incident see was abrupt and a bit rude to the two parties ahead of us which made me uncomfortable and unsure of what to expect when we approached the podium. The pancakes were some of the best we have ever had. Get the pastry basket to share with the table. It will be well worth it. For something a little different that is not too heavy I highly recommend the Chia Seed & House Granola Parfait. I was very tasty and delightful. The Bloody Mary's were excellent and I appreciated the premium tea offerings. This is a place to stop in at even if you aren't staying at the resort.

Expected more from this restaurant. Quality of the food doesn’t live up to the hype or the prices. Service was ok but $60 for 2 glasses of wine and 1 bottled water? 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, tip and tax over $200. Not a ragu on the pappardelle with brisket ragu, more of a bland tomato sauce with pieces of beef thrown in. Steak was ok, brussel sprouts were soggy, really disappointing.

Solstice has done an impressive job managing space in their restaurant despite COVID restrictions. Warm, lofty ambiance with lots of wooden beams and paneling. Hostess and wait staff were very kind, if a tiny bit slow.Food was tasty, though perhaps not good enough to earn the price of the meal. Unique cocktails. Large menu with moderately-sized portions. Would recommend the warm table cheese!Would I go again? Sure, if I happened to be at Stowe. But I wouldn’t make a special trip.

DO NOT RECOMMENDSo I wanted something different for Valentines Day and opted to try a resort. We knew it would cost more but for a 4 star plus hotel we figured the quality of food would match. We were wrong. The prices to food portions and flavor were WAY off.Lobster cavatelli pasta $36. It was flavorless. It was milk maybe some cheese, couldn’t taste it or tell in the texture, three leaves of spinach and maybe an oz of lobster? That’s being generous. The scallop dinner? $26 for 3 scallops that tasted like scallops nothing more. Not a full sized vegetable in sight and a soggy piece of bread that felt like it sat in water. The hostess had an awful attitude. Our waitress was nice and checked in on us but she was never the one to bring us our drinks or food. Felt like my tip should have gone to the whole staff. The hush puppies sat in the fryer too long and turned dry. There wasn’t enough sauce to save them.We didn’t even get dessert for fear of further disappointment.A $150 meal with one drink each I think is normal for a special night out but not for the poor quality of food. We actually talked about stopping at a grocery store to fill up after the meal...

Went for lunch and even though we had a reservation, we ended up waiting for 30 minutes beyond the time of our reservation. Unfortunately, we had already ordered the Valentine's Day to-go box before going for lunch. The place was utterly disorganized and rude to us when we asked for our takeout order. My boyfriend ended up waiting 45 minutes for them to give us the meal (even though we had spoken with the restaurant two days earlier to confirm our pick up time!!). Certainly not worth the wait and rude staff.
