Small shop tucked into a strip mall on 108 in Stowe. Great fish and meat. He cleaned shrimp for us at no extra charge. Had fresh soft shell crabs delivered the day I popped in. Easy choice for seafood in Stowe.
Stowe Seafood and Meat Market has been my favorite place to buy great protein for many years. And there are plenty of specialty items stocked there, as well. Garofalo pastas, highly flavored bottled sauces, rubs and cheeses. THE BEST VEAL CHOPS on the planet and cheerful engaging folks behind the cases to assist. Fresh oysters, lobbies steamed while you wait and lots of locals standing patiently in line. There might be other places for fresh fish and pasture raised meats, but Stowe Seafood is the original and has been quietly thriving for twenty five years (est. 1997). Go see Ed, take a look and learn wny they have the loyal local following they do. Tell him Yo Betty sent you.

First visit may be my last...$37 a lb for "heavy" choice filet (whatever that means) and the butcher argued with me when I said I didn't like the huge fat vein that was way too big to render out during cooking process. Should have gone to the butchery. Also very slow service, I waited patiently while I think he must have gone out to kill the cow. On the bright side it was fresh.

What a cool little shop! We were visiting for a month and needed two kinds of pork ribs for a barbecue weekend. Believe me, finding St. Louis cut ribs in and around Stowe is tough. So I asked these guys if they could order them, and in a few days I had a box of beautiful ribs to choose from.Along with that their prices are more than fair, even for wine. We actually bought all our wine here instead of a wine shop or grocery store - decent selection of mid-level new worlds, and prices as good or better than anyone around.Next time we'll actually buy some seafood and really try them out!
