Cute little bistro! They were very accommodating. The food was delicious! Kevin or Keith our server? (Sorry, forgot his name) was very sweet. Just what we needed after a day on the gondola. We got the duck, super crispy and you can never go wrong with steak and mashed potatoes. The butternut soup was really nice as well.Food: 5/5

I was excited to dine here. The place has a cozy, rustic ambiance and is great for a romantic dinner. The duck though ... I haven't paid 50$ for such mediocrity and I am used to New York City pricing. It was unsubstantial, and very quickly cooked. The couscous side tried to add some seasonal fall spice but ended tasting like Greek kolyva. A good meal for a funeral.The salmon salad was ok but still the greens tasted like any other healthy fast food chain. Unclear if they are locally sourced. Although they were definitely priced as such.Drinks were good. Bread serving was the best part.

Ordered the salmon with fingerling potatoes, wild mushrooms etc. The salmon was sizable, fatty but tasty. One small potato (cut in half) and maybe 3 tiny mushrooms. Not too impressed for the $$$$ price.

Amazing food at a beautiful location. The food was amazing. We got a Butternut Squash bisque to start, the House Salad, and the Pork Tenderloin. The entre was rich with flavor. The location was great - close enough to Stowe to be very accessible, but just far enough away to feel isolated enough to be relaxing. The prices were fair considering the tourist town status Stowe has developed.

We were finally able to get a reservation during our annual trip to Stowe. The menu was simple and everything we had was outstanding. I had their Maple Manhattan and it was the finest one I've had yet. Our server was terrific - incredibly polite and perfectly attentive. We highly recommend dining here.

We had a great dinner after just arriving in Stowe. We were promptly seated even without having reservations and our waitress was fantastic the whole evening. We ended up ordering three appetizers and a dessert to split. The cheese board and truffle fries were great, but the crispy brussel sprouts with kimchi aioli were absolutely divine. We are still thinking about them. The peanut butter pie was also very good and not too rich or sweet. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Stowe!


Excellent food, perfectly cooked . Great service. Large wine list. We had the filet mignon, salmon, pork tenderloin and the duck. All excellent. Were knowledgeable and able to accommodate a nut allergy. Highly recommend.


Attractive place in beautiful setting. Very courteous staff, but strange reservation system -- only available reservation was 5:45 on Friday night (with strict instructions not to be late), yet the dining room was empty, except for our table, the whole time we were there. Other parties were seated outside on the terrace, but nobody else inside -- there was no reason we had to eat so early, unless they had a million cancellations, which seems unlikely. Steak tartare was very good, served with apparently home-made potato chips. House salad was expensive ($17? Really?) Cedar-glazed pork loin was also expensive ($42), and oversold by the waiter. Overall, 5 for service, 4 for food, 3 for value. Averages to 4.


Generally bland food, similar and overpriced wine, the only positive thing is that my filet mignon was good. The waitstaff was generally incompetent, the waitress brought the wine after the appetizer, has no idea how to open the bottle, forgets what she is doing as soon as she is asked a question… it was 50 degrees outside but the windows were closed and a window air conditioner was rumbling… I will stop here.

Pros:1. Views from the patio2. Moule Frites was decent with large portions of seafoodCons:1. Very poor service - waited over 20mins before server approached our table to offer water and take our order. Meanwhile, they got the table assignments wrong and the food runner kept bringing orders for a different table (not his fault). After the third time this happened, we finally had him flag down our server to come to our table. Service was very poor, perhaps due to short staffing.2. Overpriced for what you get - tiny portions for the duck and beef tartare.3. Food quality - greasy brussels sprouts, overcooked and rubbery duckOverall the place felt like a gimmick with the views and was a letdown with disappointing food and service. Would recommend passing on this place as there are much better restaurants in the area.

So this place gets one star for the view from the patio which was incredible, other than that this might be the singularly most overpriced and disappointing meal I’ve ever had. Nothing, and I mean nothing about the food was worth $40-50 a plate. Out of the 5 people in my party, 4 of our meals were over cooked. I got a $50 filet mignon which was honestly the worst steak I’ve ever had. I ordered it medium rare and it was totally over cooked and the chimichurri sauce on it was not good. The drinks weren’t good either. We left without getting dessert because I wouldn’t spend a dollar more than what we did. The best thing might have been the hot bread and butter.


This was our best meal of the trip. We had reservations and sat outside during a perfect evening of dining. They had live music which was a bonus. The portions were ample. The special of the day was cod, cooked to perfection. Seems many locals ate at Bistro. Definitely going back on our next trip to Vermont.


What a wonderful place. Located near Stowe, it has a large patio that is a romantic setting for a summer meal. The service was impeccable (thanks Kevin!), the food was delicious. To top it off, there was the truckload of golden retrievers that stopped in, and the herd of dairy cows that rolled up just across the street.


Kevin was our waiter, and he was just phenomenal. The service was impeccable. We sat outside. The atmosphere there is just so nice. The food was delicious. The drinks, the wine, I could go on and on and on. Absolute five-star experience, just love this place.
