Entire facility needs a drastic remodel. We never used the pool, hot tub, outdoor facilities due to extremely muddy conditions in the parking lots. The breakfast buffet was NOT worth $26. There aren’t bagels for the smoked salmon and the bread was extremely dry and stale. The only thing that was delicious was the sausage and there was a nice assortment of fruit. Empty jam container prevented me from trying to make the toast better. My server spilled the weak coffee all over my coffee cup and saucer and the tablecloth but never made an attempt to clean or dry the area-she just left it. We did love the food and service at the Bierhall.Rooms: Dark and dated with inadequate lighting and small cramped bathroom. Not worth the price.

My stay at the Trapp Family Lodge was enchanting! I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end, absolutely wonderful! The property itself is gorgeous!! The mountain views are spectacular! Our room was charming and beautifully renovated with so many nice added touches. I especially enjoyed the Trapp family history tour and walking the grounds, too!! There is so much to do on the property. The customer service was incredibly pleasant. I will always remember and cherish my time spent at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe Vermont!

We had an amazing time! Rooms appear to be original but very clean and charming. We loved the wood burning fireplace, proximity to Stowe ski resort, access to laundry, hot tub and the pool for the kids. Bier hall food and ambience were great as was coffee and pastries at the kaffehaus. We will definitely be back!

We came midweek, to avoid crowds and children, but we didn’t succeed. Plenty of kids; even though it wasn’t winter recess. Our room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, and an expansive view of the mountains. The room was clean, and well equipped. Coffee, fridge, hairdryer, robe and balcony. (Shared)The temperature was too hot in our room at night. Adjusting the thermostat didn’t help. We sweated like hogs every night. We mentioned it to front desk-but issue was never resolved. For the price we paid that is inexcusable. We went only on one guided activity. Maple sugar tour. I received many messages reminding me to be there 15 minutes before the tour started. Guess what happened? We spent 1/2 an hour doing nothing before we got going. A waste of our precious vacation time, standing around waiting in our snowshoes. I’m glad it was the only activity we committed to. I don’t like being kept waiting. Particularly when it’s communicated to me to be on time.We visited cows in our own. They were beautiful. We snowshoes to the slayton pasture cabin. It was probably the highlight of my trip. The food there was delicious. And it was so cozy and beautiful. Again, didn’t expect to see 100 kids-but they were there too.Access to the pool and hot tub was not at all convenient. We were unable to use either; either due to them being too full, or not having access to private changing room. It’s a shame that we never had an opportunity to use them.Breakfast buffet was not impressive-especially for $26 per person. At that price, omelets to order, or fresh waffles- would have been nice. Bagels and cream cheese for the lox? The oatmeal was gluey, and the bread was stale and sliced ridiculously thin. At that price point, fresh squeezed orange juice would have been nice. Coffee was weak. The snowshoe trailheads were not easy to find or clearly marked. We didn’t find anyone available at the outdoor center to answer questions.Gift shop was a joke. The first shirt I looked at was priced at $200. For a Henley.Insane. We didn’t send up buying one souvenir. The kaffeehouse pastries were not fresh or if high quality. Many items simply do not look homemade; despite their claims.

The lodge is awesome, lots of wood-burning fireplaces and rustic feel, big wood beams, but the overall layout and elevator access was winding and matrix like. The premier king room was a fantastic layout with plenty of space and a circular table and seating area which was great for family card games, but walls were thin - the lodge is pet friendly and we had a howling dog on one side and a screaming infant at 5:30 am on the other side, both way too audible. The jacuzzi and fitness center are a walk across the street, so a bit of a trek, but very friendly and helpful staff. Massage and yoga were really good. X-country ski trails are stellar and grounds/mountain views are amazing, ski-rental staff were great and gear was good quality. On-prem food was overpriced and not the best. Overall, definitely will go back but will look for a separate guest house. Only a 10-15 min drive to Stowe.

Great old world style beers and German/Austrian food. Thoroughly enjoyed lunch there.

It needs a serious renovation. Peeling bathroom doors are unpleasant. AND no blackout curtains so you’re awake at 6.45am whether you want to or not. The people are the only

A beautiful location with top notch activities and services. If you like cross country skiing or snowshoeing, this is a destination resort. With Stowe just down the street, it’s a great home base for winter activities.

Absolutely disgusted with this hotel. Booked a king suite with my girlfriend for her birthday. The suite was small, old and outdated (not in a rustic or cottage-y way). For close to $800 a night we expected better. Pictures online are not representative of all the rooms there. Asked the front desk if we could leave after checking in, as we wanted to leave. Was told it was non refundable. Only saving grace was they let us out of the second night so we were able to move to spruce peak lodge hotel which was lovely.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Trapp Family Lodge! Service was phenomenal, the location was beautiful and centrally located for convenience. I loved how spacious the rooms were and how family friendly the multiple living rooms were. They each had large fire places to feel very homey and multiple board games to have game nights. There were plenty of activities to participate in on the property or via a quick drive up the mountain to catch a ski lift! We will definitely come back!
