Phenomenal food. Top notch team members. They’re among the top highlights of any visit to the Upper Valley.

Just recently we were getting into town late after a day of mountain biking in NH and the four of us were fiending for a great steak dinner, but saw we'd be arriving about 30 minutes after their scheduled closing time... one quick phone call asking for some thick cut ribeyes and they were more than happy to stay open a little later to wait for us. Steaks were amazing (started on a 700F grill and finished with butter and herbs in the oven) and we had full bellies that evening, thanks to the Village Butcher shop. Can't comment on anything other than the steaks and customer service, which were both amazing. Cheers and Thank you!!! (and if you or any of your staff are ever in Charleston please swing by my whiskey bar Seanachai! We have a steak frites on the menu and 350+ whiskeys - though only a 10oz Hanger, not the 2# monster ribeyes you gave us last night! Cheers! ?)

We grabbed a couple of sandwiches from this butcher store and deli, 1 Italian Grinder and 1 Turkey BLT. Both were pretty good, the meats are fresh and the service was good. Recommend for anyone exploring the picturesque neighborhood of Woodstock, VT, this fall (or anytime) looking for a quick bite.

Back in town after being gone for a few years. Quite possibly the best corn chowder I've ever had in my 56 years on this planet. Seriously, it was sublime. While I knew the previous owners for decades and love them, the new owners have seriously stepped up the game for this Woodstock institution. Funky, upbeat atmosphere, Josh as always behind the counter asking how your day is going, the whole place is an absolute pleasure to visit. Chapeau.

If you love food in general and meats in particular you will love this place. It’s awesome to have a local butcher-shop, happy to support these guys!

This Village hotspot makes great sandwiches and sells fresh salads, tasty baked goods, and an array of other products. The sandwiches are terrific, made with fresh ingredients on delicious Vermont-made bread. I'm a big fan of the BLTs and tuna salad. You'll also find fresh meats, a nicely chosen selection of wines, cheeses, drinks, and other condiments. Service is generally pretty fast, too -- and the owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for great quality meats, sandwiches and specialty gourmet items, look no further. We are staying at a local inn this weekend and wanted to pick up some lunch to bring back to our room. I called the shop first because of the misleading statement on this listing that the business is temporarily closed. It is open and we are glad we went. We enjoyed a delicious roast beef sandwich, some deviled eggs with horseradish and a vegetable pasta salad with pesto and the best fresh-made ginger cookies. Not to mention that we received a warm and friendly welcome from the proprietor when we entered the shop and terrific service from the counter. All in all a great experience.

Awesome people and some of the best meat's around. We love having a local butcher in Woodstock!

First, Josh is extremely helpful and welcoming. This is a place where you quickly get on a first name basis and has us city folks yearning for a local butcher shop. They're not local to me, but they might just be my butcher shop.Came in for some cuts before heading home and took the opportunity to also get some jamón ibérico, Argentinian wine, dry rub, and sandwich along with our Delmonico ribeye and pork chop. Josh gave me some cooking recommendations. Ordered the roast beef sandwich which is prepared in house and it was nothing but quality. Can't wait to come back.

We’ve been to this butcher shop a handful of times over the last almost two years or so, and it’s become a favorite stop. At this point, a trip to Woodstock wouldn’t be the same without it. We love the sandwiches and prepared foods (the eggs!), we appreciate the wine selection and we try to bring home a cut of meat to extend the memory of a great weekend away once we are back in NH. This time we grabbed a boned out leg of lamb. Can’t wait to try it later this week. And the muffins! I think their muffins may be the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of muffins.Really great staff, so friendly. Thanks for giving us a delicious choice when we visit.
