I normally prefer traditional Chinese restaurants but Peony came as a surprisely new take on Chinese based fusion, with flavors of Vietnam and the Med. I'll make a case for the beef and the squid ink fried rice. Sichuan standards like pop corn chili chicken are well executed, and also noodle dishes. Lighting could be brighter. There's free parking in the basement.

Everything at Peony was good, but the Peking Duck was so exceptional it deserves a standing ovation. The deliciously crispy duck skin and meat were wrapped in a thin pancake with scallions and cucumber, but the star was the sugared lemon slices. It harmonized so well, especially with the citrus reducing the grease, that each bite had my tastebuds delightfully humming. The phoenix oolong was a nice accompaniment to this meal and I loved it so much, I went home and bought a pack myself. Highly recommend visiting Peony, and I will definitely be back.

Great place to enjoy asian food and elegant interior. A lot of room and natural light, convenient parking inside the building garage - are real precious for the restaurant that located in Old Bellevue. The food is delicious, and service is good. No complaints, just warm memories.

Peony Kitchen in Bellevue offers a delightful fusion of traditional Chinese dishes with modern twists. Standout dishes like Peking duck and steamed dumplings impress, complemented by impeccable service and a cozy ambiance.

I'm horrified by restaurants like this. First of all, they claim to be a Chinese restaurant, and serve something seemingly Chinese, BUT, the food is far from authentic or tasty. Whatever they cook is so so so sweet, you feel like you will get diabetes just by eating them.Secondly, I understand everything is getting more expensive, but why they BUNDLE a 18% tip to the bill? It is not a group service, just a simple lunch for two, and they printed the 18% on the bill so you don't get to choose. Tips are voluntary, right? The only situation a restaurant mandates a 18% tip is when there is a large group of diner and the service is intense. But please don't force your customers to pay 18% for everything, OK?The younger waiters in the restaurant were polite and served well, although they forgot an appetizer I ordered and had to serve it at the end of our meal. But it is so sweet anyway so we can eat it as dessert. Their work is totally undermined by the quality of the food and the outrageous enforced tip set up by their boss.

Amercian Chinese food in a mordern restaurant style. Overpriced.I was so looking forward to the dinner that I spent my birthday there. The restaurant is mordern, clean and stylish. However, the food was really disappointing. The soup was so sour. The honey BBQ was so salty and the pumpkin donuts were so sweet. The chicken was the thing you can get in Panda Express. And by the way 18% tips will be charged as default.I don't like the taste but I can get it people may like it for the bar or the style. BUT! I really can't take it that they put "The best Chinese restaurant in Bellevue" on their take out bags. It's everything OPPSITE of the "the best Chinese restaurant".

The food is to die for, the service is slow (it takes them forever to bring the dishes, drinks, or soy sauce). They don’t collect the empty dishes so you end up having dessert with a bunch of dirty dishes on your table. Once they’ve delivered everything to your table, they disappear .Even to get the check, you have to wait.Vegetarian options: Garlic broccoli, fried rice, tofu

The peony fried rice came out partially burnt where the whole table could smell it, and didn't have much flavor to it. Chicken was boiled white with no flavor. Table also ordered the garlic chicken, but the sweet glaze on that dish way overpowers the garlic so you don't taste it at all. All that being said, it is NYE and you can tell the staff are doing their best work. Very polite and helpful! And the amount of food we got was certainly ample!
