TLDR: super fun place to hang. A must try! Oh. My. Gosh. If you haven't tried Virtual Reality, you are missing out! This place is a great way to hang with your buddies or go solo and try your hand at VR. Tip: go and play with a group of friends before lunch or dinner. Then have lunch/dinner somewhere to discuss the awesome time you had. Tip: you don't have to stand the entire time! I played a Zombie Training Simulator and sat down to aim down sights. It was actually helpful in steadying my weapon and was somewhat relaxing--aside from the zombies of course. Service: you can book online, via phone, or walk in (a bit riskier on busy days). Headsets are cleaned between uses. Drinks/food are available at the counter. If you book online or by phone, you will pay then and there. First time? They have a waiver form for you to sign when you check in--it only takes a minute or two. You don't need to arrive super early. Just arrive on time. There is a little training session that you go through before you play, this isn't counted in your precious game time. Each booth can only have one player at a time. The cool part about this lounge is that there are bar tables and stools just outside the booth and each booth has a TV screen for you to see what the player is seeing. So, while your are playing, your buddies can enjoy food and drink as they watch you. All booths can interact with each other for multiplayer, but not all booths have the same games. Check out their website prior to booking to see what games you'd like to play on what booth. For those of you who are basically blind without glasses, fear not: you can wear glasses with the headset provided. I found it much easier on the face to wear contacts--glasses can fog up if you really get going on Beat Saber. I found that an hour is my limit before the sweat starts pooling on your cheek bones or starts fogging up your glasses. I played Beat Saber, which I highly recommend) and boy did I sweat up a storm in the headset. An hour should be more than enough for the avid gamer. That, or at least take a breather after your first hour and trade off with someone else. Headsets are cleaned between uses and the foam part velcros on/off and is switched out between players. I didn't experience any nausea from the games I played except one: Skyfront. This one made me do the wobble every now and then because I felt like I was going to fall for real. The choppiness of the game also made me slightly nauseous the faster I flew.

Portal VR is an awesome experience. They have tons of games from detective series to shooting and flying. They also have a plank experience that will blow your mind. With the virus impact on small businesses we wanted to show the owner Tim that we care and want our local business to survive through the hardship Tim made sure that all of his equipment was sanitized well. They also have snacks and drinks to keep your stamina up. I would urge anyone who has not experienced VR and mixed reality to give Portal VR a try!

My son and I came here on a Saturday and had a great time, where my experience at that point was definitely 4.5 stars. My son would give it 5 stars for sure. My son really wanted to come back the next day, so I first checked the website to book where it showed rooms available for most of the day. However, the website wouldn't let me book more than 1 person at a time, so I couldn't book one room each for my son and I. You also need to book with a credit card with no refunds, so I was hesitant to book one room without being able to secure another. I then waited until they opened an hour later, and was told they couldn't book my reservation over the phone and I'd have to do it online. This was strange since I had booked over the phone the day before. I had also tried booking on my phone just a few minutes before calling them, but their mobile experience wouldn't allow me to book. I told the gentleman on the phone this and asked him if he could reserve the time for me until I could get back to my laptop, and he refused. Needless to say that I'm disappointed in the inconsistent customer experience from one day to the next and the poor mobile process. My son is also let down since they were unwilling to help. Looks like I'll go to the VR place in Kirkland moving forward.

Very pricey, kicked us out 15 minutes into our time

This place is super cool! Went on a Friday night and was surprised to find it unbusy. Paul was such a great help and was happy to answer any questions or give pointers. For me and my boyfriend to both have our own booths for 1.5 hours came out about $100. Its pretty worth it. The time went by so slow and you got to play many games! Not only do they have beer and icecream, but they have all kinds of snacks and beverages too between $2-$8. Lots of kid games and lots of adult games. Even a fun spectators event for those who just want to watch. Had lots of laughs and overall a very good time. Thanks again Portal!

Have good number of parking spaces. 12 booths to play. Great spaces for parents to sit while the kids playing. Friendly customer service. I would bring the kids here again to play.

I went with my husband and had a great time. We got two rooms which was a great idea and was able to play several of the games together.
The kids and I had a blast! The only bummer is how expensive it is and that you can't bring your own food. Otherwise the staff is helpful without being too overbearing and again, it's SUPER FUN for all ages (including adults)!!

This place is great!!! I didn't even know that this place existed until a friend told us about it. I was a little worried that we would look out of place since we're all over 25 lol but we enjoyed ourselves. The virtual reality is so much fun and the best part is that they have beer if you want to make the experience a little better lol definitely coming back :)

It's the first rainy weekend after summer so we were looking for something fun to do indoors. Kids 10 & 12. Both like games. We remembered driving by a place called Portal VR Lounge where the old tack shop used to be. We had been kinda curious and were feeling up for a new adventure - so off we went! We didn't tell the kids where we were going so it would be a surprise. They are prevailing guess was that we were going swimming...

We didn't tell the kids where we were going so it would be a surprise. They are prevailing guess was that we were going swimming... When we pulled up, and the kids figured out what we were about to do, they were both over the moon! And Wow! This was such a good call! What a cool place! I was a little worried it would be a den of super geek techy gamers and I would feel out of place. But it was totally the opposite. There were definitely some serious gamers in there, but there were also people in their 60s, several kids as young as 8, a birthday party for kids around 12, a few dads and kiddos playing together... It was all ages, family friendly and it was set up to be accessible and easy to learn for everyone. We booked a 90 minute session so all four of us could share the booth to get our feet wet and learn how the system worked. But time blew by so quickly that we grownups just let the kids split the time and take 45 minutes each. I'm glad we did it that way. It would have been pretty short to try and learn the controls of a game (3-5 min) and play it for 15-20 minutes and then have to switch. So definitely 45-min per person is the shortest session I would book if you are new to it and need any time for learning curve. With that said, next time, we would get two booths because the kids each got bored watching the other play. I think two booths for 90 minutes would allow four players to take turns and each get 45 minutes and that should be pretty fun. Ultimately once you get into these games, 90 minutes would blow by like nothing! Time flies when you're having fun! Our son got to play Spider-Man Far From Home and our daughter got to play Job Simulator. We got to see what they were seeing in their VR headset on a screen right outside the booth. There was reasonably comfortable seating and a bit of a concession stand set up. Each kid got some ice cream while the other played. The staff did a great job helping us get set up. They were very attentive and rushed over whenever we needed help with a control or got stuck on anything. The kids had a blast. We all yelled things like "web him!" And "throw the slurpee!" Really fun. At the end, all of us took turns doing both the plank and the glider experiences. Those are little add-ons that I would highly recommend! The plank is absolutely terrifying! If you don't like heights, be prepared to weep like a baby. :-). Honestly it was so scary only three out of our four made it the whole way through. I'm not going to say who chickened out but my thumbs are pointing at her right now. I challenge you to do better! The glider was amazing and both my husband and I said we could fly around on that thing all day. I must be honest, though. I get a little bit motion sick and the glider definitely flipped that switch for me. I felt a bit woozy for about 45 minutes. Very worth it though. Truly felt like I was flying. They set you on a suspended platform lying as if you are in a hang-glider, and they blow a fan on your face so there is some very realistic air-rush sensation happening in that ride. The best part of the day was as we walked out, our son said, "This was so much better then going swimming. This was actually a dream come true!" The owner overheard him say this and beamed at us as we walked out. Definitely a sign of a great business and a great business owner - - true joy at the sight of your customers having an amazing experience. The entire experience (about 2.5 hours) cost about the same as the four of us going to a movie and getting all the d*** snacks that you pay for there. But VR was longer, more interactive for us all, and more participation in the a
