Chose to eat here because of the positive reviews and wanted to try someplace new in Bellingham. I have 2 words for this place. Overpriced AND overrated! I have a hard time believing all of the positive reviews posted. First of all, when you pay the kind of prices they charge here, you don't expect mediocre food, you expect food that you thoroughly enjoy and even think about into the next day! And you should also have the right to expect excellence in the food when that is how they promote their food on their menu. That was not the case with anything we ordered here! We started with an appetizer, the steak tips. It was so bad, we couldn't even eat it. The meat was tough and chewy. The sauce was way too oniony. I guess that was a way to disguise the poor quality of the meat. When the server came by and saw it had been put to the side, she asked if it was okay. We told her it wasn't what we expected and would prefer just to wait for our entrée. Instead, she had the chef make the exact same thing again and brought it out to us. It was the same poor quality, same sauce, and have no idea why she chose to do that. We did not ask for another appetizer, nor did we really even complain about it, we just said we didn't care for it. She did then tell us that the steak tips was actually a combination of three different cuts of meat. That was a surprise, since that is not the way it was described in the menu! It was supposed to be filet. Not, one bite of filet and the rest inferior beef!Next came the entrée. One of us ordered the "fresh" salmon and the other ordered"prime rib." We've ordered salmon at Anthony's Home Port many, many times. It's always been exceptional! This salmon was horribly fishy smelling and, after a few bites, had to just set it aside.I had the prime rib. Again, I don't understand the positive reviews. It had a decent flavor, but was tough, chewy and grizzly. The au jus tasted like flavored water, and the horse radish tasted like light mayo. Terrible. Obviously, an inferior cut of meat. I've had better prime rib purchased at Fred Meyer. The garlic mashed tasted like they'd sat our for hours. They were so thick, I could only eat a few bites. For the prices charged, I expect to get the kind of food quality that I've had at similarly priced restaurants. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It guess it wasn't surprising that the place was fairly empty on a Saturday night. That should have been our first clue. I would never go back here. Even the drinks were bad.

Bar was closed on a Friday night so we had a very limited selection of coctails to enjoy with our dinner. Service was extremely slow, our food took over one hour to arrive even tho they were at no more than 20% full capacity Very disappointing experience, no worth the price.

This was our first time at Dirty Dan's and it won't be our last. We had an incredible dinner here. The prime rib was so tender that it cut like butter. The baked potato was the size of a football and that gorgonzola garlic bread is to die for.Our server was also the bartender and that guy has got it going on. I think his name was Steven. Their cocktail menu is the most creative and innovative over ever seen. He made a potion for my partner that was out of this world. Such a fabulous drink! It was called, "I put a spell on you," and it was an interactive cocktail. Wait until you see what happens when you add the potion hanging on the side of the glass!I had the smoked cherry old fashioned and it was the best old fashioned I've ever had. Thanks for such a great time, we'll be back!

No longer the steakhouse I remember; very disappointing doneness of a steak and poor customer service that doesnt meet the expectations for such a high-end steakhouse.I have good memories with this steakhouse in the past, so it became my kinda ritual to visit Dirty Dan Harris Steakhouse every time I visit Bellingham. This time, I brought my parents with me and we all had steak. I requested medium-rare and my steak was more like medium; it was tough and chewy so I couldn't eat after 2 bites. I asked the server's opinion and he agreed saying "it looks medium". And then, there was no further actions other than a glass of wine offered. I wasn't going to pay for my steak so I intentionally didn't eat much of it. When I checked the bill after finishing the dinner, my steak wasn't included; so I was reassured that I wasn't going to be charged. My dad took the bill and paid for the dinner.A few days later, my dad was checking the credit card bill and we realized that my steak was charged afterall.I made an international phone call, thinking this must have been a mistake. I had such a high trust and expection for this steakhouse that there was no way they charged for a wrongly done steak; I mean, they are not just a family restaurant. After few more international phone calls and some delays as the owner "is never at this restaurant " I was told that only 30% of the steak will be returned (in check via mail) as "I never grabbed the manager's attention at the moment and I almost finished the steak". This made me feel like a con artist in the movie Heartbreakers so I politely told the manager to drop the conversation.I feel sad that I lost one of my favorite steakhouses. This restaurant is no longer the steakhouse I remember in the past 10 years.

Amazing place! A must in Fairhaven. We went because of the name but absolutely loved the place. Very unique setup. A bar upstairs and seating downstairs. Cool little sections on different levels. The food was delicious and excellent portions. We ordered the 5oz prime rib but it was definitely bigger than 5oz. The baked potato was giant and tasty. Service was very friendly. The owner was one of the servers and was chatting with all the customers. A great drink menu with cocktails and all kinds of drinks. Definitely planning to go back.

Boyfriend took me out for birthday dinner here. I had the 6 oz prime rib which was perfectly cooked. Boyfriend had the ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes. I thought the mashed was too salty but bf said it was the best he's ever had. He'd eat a bucket full of it if he could. We also shared the crab stuffed mushrooms which were really tasty. Drinks were delicious and our waiter was great. He made sure to get us a complimentary birthday creme brulee with a cute candle to finish the night even though we were stuffed. This was our second visit to the restaurant and probably not our last.

Sadly, this restaurant was a staples for nice steak houses in bellingham, and the quality has dropped. There were five of us out for a nice dinner, four steak meals, and one salmon. The food was good, but it was just not amazing. Two of the steaks were overcooked, one was undercooked, and the salmon was fishy in flavor. And talking about flavor, Dirty Dan's meals used to be flavorful, delicious treats. Nowadays, the food is Applebee's flavors, with the high prices. Not to say anything we had was bad. It just wasn't amazing. $300+ night out for five people with adequate food was sadly not what we expected. I know that restaraunts in bellingham have high operating cost that they have to pass on to the customer, but better quality and flavor would have made it worth the cost.

We went to Dirty Dans last Saturday night. There were 6 of us, we had a 7:30 reservation time.We ordered appetizers, stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes, those were fabulous.Dinner was not that good. Our table had meatloaf, ribs, prime rib, scallops and a burger. The person that had the burger was the only one who had anything good to say about their dinner. The quality and taste of The food has definitely decreased over the past few years, which is such a disappointment. The chocolate cake was so dry, it was as if it sat out all day!Our waiter was not friendly and once we got our food he never came back to check on us. I spilled a FULL drink during our round of appetizers, he helped me clean up, and NEVER offered to bring me another drink. We could clearly see the wait staff hanging out by the cashiers station talking, so we were disappointed that our waiter didn't have time for us.One more thing I feel I should mention...when we first got there I came out of the women's restroom and told the younger lady with dark hair standing by the soup, that one of the stalls were out of toilet paper. During our stay of about 2 hours, it was never replenished. If I'm going to spend that kind of money for dinner, I will be visiting the Steak House at Silver Reef!

Great place for prime rib. Would like to see a better selection of upscale appetizers though.

Read a recent article claiming this place had the "best steak in Bellingham." Being a steak lover I decided to head over snd try it out. The service was decidedly poor, mumbling and rushing the delivery, the table next to us had to discuss with each other to try to figure out what was offered for dessert. The food also set a very low bar. The pear salad had some actual gritty dirt in two bites for my guest and the mashes potatoes had the same. The filet was convincingly overcooked as well. Sadly I will not be recommending or returning.

This is definitely a high end place and the prices and quality of food reflect that. The restaurant encompasses an old fashion ambiance that makes you feel as if you stepped back in time when you walk in.The waiter we had was very kind, I believe they were having some technical difficulties with the internet and he was friendly and attentive.

Such a cool place! The food was fantastic, the layout is unique, the decorating is fun! We shared the crab stuffed mushrooms, they were good, not soggy. The Ceasars salad has a sweet creamy dressing, and the romaine was crisp. We shared the ribeye special with grilled prawns and bernaise sauce. So much flavor! We were too full for dessert, but the options looked very good.Everything was really good.

With all the hype I've seen since Covid, I expected better.Disappointed overall. The prime rib was excellent. The mashed garlic potatoes where whipped, texture terrible. The garlic bread with gorgonzola gravy was very good. Atmosphere was nice but dark and there were steps without warning. The wait staff was adequate in their duties. Expensive. Would not go back.

1st time trying this restaurant. Went at 7pm on a Saturday night and there were 2 other parties in the entire restaurant. Atmosphere was dark and could use some updates, but quiet and cozy. Waitstaff was great. We ordered 2 appetizers and the black and blue NY strip. Steaks were cooked well, harlic mashed potatoes were heaven, however the roasted parmesan broccoli vegetable was a bit too salty to our liking. The best thing we had was their gorgonzola garlic bread appetizer...OMG. If you get one appetizer get the whole order and take the rest to go, it's a 12 piece tower of crusty French bread slices loaded with a rich creamy gorgonzola garlic cheese sauce poured all over it...liquid gold!!!
