Came from Spokane and pre-planned to eat here for our only special dinner on our vacation. Drove here on a Saturday night 6:30 only to find a dark, closed restaurant even though Google showed it was “open” and their hours were also posted accordingly. Super disappointed and ended up eating the WORST Mexican food ever at a local establishment instead.

Had a wonderful dinner on a cold winter night. I have so many food allergies that I never eat out, but this was a special occasion! The staff were WONDERFUL, and the chef was willing to adapt a recipe to my limitations! I not only had a great time, I felt great after the meal. A huge thank you to the wait staff and the cook! Note: The only reason I gave only three stars on atmosphere is they were blasting country western for the first half of our visit and my partner couldn’t hear us speaking. Other than that, I love this place and will return!!!Dietary restrictions: Staff are very helpful with dietary restrictionsKid-friendliness: We observed The staff gave special attention to children that night, even singing a Quilliute birthday song for a little girl. Lovely and sweet

A great surprise when visiting La Push. Decided to stop by here for dinner before heading home and we were so glad we did! We moved to the Peninsula a couple years ago from Seattle and have had a hard time finding great restaurants. THIS IS NOW OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT ON THE PENINSULA! Food was beautiful, tasty and reasonably priced. The view is GORGEOUS! If you’re thinking about going here, do it!

We were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant to have excellent food. The chef moved there from New Orleans and knows how to prepare tasty food. The poutine was light and delicious, not soggy as you're likely to find elsewhere. We had a table of ten and everyone was delighted with their dinner. Drinks and a limited beer and wine selection are available. They were quite busy that night, and service was impacted, but friendly. Nice view of James Island and the ocean across the jetty.

Wonderful from start to finish. Chef gave us an amuse- Bouche of grilled oysters. Melinda sent us off with a rendition of happy birthday that had me weeping tears of joy. Thank you Rivers edge for a great night celebrating with family. We are so glad you are back!

Amazing! Completely redone from previous visits. Food was excellent - we got the seaweed salad, the greens and bannock, chowder, shrimp and grits, salmon and rice, and more. All delicious! The staff was very friendly, and both the manager and chef came out to say hello. Great views of wildlife - seals, eagles, herons, otters, etc. We were staying locally but it is easily worth the drive from Forks.

It's been a few years since we have stayed in La Push and we are enjoying our visit so much! We were looking forward to eating at River's Edge remembering how much we've enjoyed it in the past but the recent reviews did not look very good. We decided to give it a go based on our previous experiences and I'm so glad we did. There is a new chef and a new menu. Everything we had was delicious! The salmon dip was perfect and the seafood chowder was so creamy and came with a skewer of delicious grilled shrimp and fry bread. The dining room was clean and very tidy. The staff was just as friendly as before. The recent reviews suggest they needed to make some changes and I am happy to report they've done it very well.

Traveling thru the most beautifully desolate land that is the Pacific Northwest, my travel companion and I felt as though we were on a foreign planet, loosely following a half-loaded travel path to natural monuments and spectacles we'd only ever seen in pictures. We had no clue or plan on where to stay or where to eat. Our last resort being we'd sleep in the car on the side of the road if need be. Not in this case though, we found refuge at a cabin side welcoming to werewolves and vampires in the La Push area and awoke to find ourselves hungry. This place showed to be a short drive away. It stands out like a monolith similar to the rock structures jetinsing out of the ocean surrounding the land covered by a sea battered town that to the judgmental eye may seem uninviting, but to a couple of Georgia boys recognized as a strong, hard-working little community. The building itself makes me hope its the beacon in this rough around the edges area. Proving to fill the needs of any hot meal, refreshing drink, need for a breather, special occasion, city hall meeting, celebration, or congregation of any kind that town would depend on it for. The interior appears serene, inviting and spacious. Reflective of the mood the atmosphere presents you outside when the moments just right. A family owned establishment without a doubt that provided a well-rounded assortment of options to accommodate any hungry and in need patron, or visitor in our case. The staff was pleasant and willing to carry on small talk with the two strangers that we were. I took the option of their cream cheese bagel with smoked salmon while my vegan travel companion chose a creamy hearty bowl of oatmeal with two cups of coffee to help perk us up from the toe chilling temperature that stood at the door outside. I was humbled to learn that the salmon was caught by our hosts husband just the day prior and had been smoked over night ready to be enjoyed that morning. Fresh, savory, rich, it was so good and I was joyed to have it.We sat at the back of the restaurant to look out the back over the ocean that stretched endlessly across the grey veranda. Its only obstruction being the aforementioned monoliths that stood frozen in the choppy waters surrounding them. Looking out the wide window it would seem as if we were on an entirely different planet if it weren't for the plethora fowl that littered the air which their 'coos' and 'caws'. Quite seriously the most birds I have ever seen in one place in my entire life. Crows, seagulls, pelicans, ravens. Some perched on the decaying algae strained back dock attached to the store that was half drowning in the ocean below it where no person dare step foot on unless they wish to fall to a watery grave. Riddled with barnacles and smeared with excrement from the native birds that glided the seaside winds leaning against the structure outside. We watched them dip to and fro as they picked at scraps on the ground and scanned for anything below them and under the water's surface, some diving and disappearing under the water only to emerge empty billed, no fish in beak.Such a quaint place, and it felt home-like. Like it'd been lived in and now we did to, if not for a short 30 or so minutes. Talking more to the family I learned our host's father had recently passed away and the funeral was planned for the weekend. I offered condolences and she told me a little bit about him. I could tell she was sorrowful, but I remember her presenting herself as a strong, proud fairing lady and no tears were shed. I wonder if she got that trait from her dad. Regardless, she mentioned how she had no umbrella. Peculiar, I thought, to live in Washington state and not own an umbrella. I, having brought an umbrella, would have no use for one once I returned home decided she could use it a lot more than I could. I presented it to her with its 24 spined metal frame with charcoal black colored lining and looped walnut handle that Edward Gorey himself would be proud to hold. Although hesitant at first she accepted

Went here last March after a drizzly day hike at 2nd Beach. I was slightly cold & soaked, but feeling great after breathing that fresh rainforest air and seeing that gorgeous beach. We were craving something hot, and local seafood, and had no idea about anywhere to go because we are out of state. Basically just drove to the end of the road & there it was. The rain was coming down pretty good, and we ran inside where it was warm to take shelter. First thing - the clam chowder was out of this world! The clams were so delicious, very meaty, hearty, and good! Fish & chips were Alaskan lingcod brought in from native lands by boat. It was the greatest fish & chips I've ever tasted. After that I was just done. This meal totally, completely satisfied me, and I wanted to go out there and fish for more. We emailed the Quilleute tribal council and asked their permission to fish there at the river's mouth, but they would not let us. They track the salmon runs very carefully. We just hung out there for a little while, got warm from the elements, and ended up polishing off a peach cobbler slice. That was excellent also. On the way out of the reservation, there was a sign for smoked salmon so we drove into the village and bought some from a guy with a basket of smoked salmon. The salmon was pretty tasty, a smaller Coho or sockeye salmon and very smoky. You could really feel the smoke inside it afterwards. I ate it with my scrambled eggs on vacation, explored the beautiful folksy region of Forks, and found a secret, awesome place to fish the state still had open a little further away sort of in the mountains.
