El Agavero Mexican Grill

This was surprisingly good ...and fair prices bummed we couldn't sit in the back looking at the water but it's ok maybe next time

Located right next to the ferry. Restaurant is small but clean. Ambiance is on the louder side. Service was good although they were busy. Food was above average stand mexican fare. Good for a convenient, quick meal.

$39.42 for a to-go order of the taco special and carne asada tacos. The staff was quick (8-minutes) to provide the order. Unfortunately, the presentation and quality were short of any taco I've received at any legitimate Mexican restaurant. If you review the restaurant ratings in Port Townsend, almost every establishment has touristsa 4+ rating, so it's not a surprise El Agavero Mexican Grill is nothing more than a strip-mall eatery near the ferry and tourist town. Most definitely the most over rated MexiCAN’T restaurant I’ve ever visited. Especially based on the lack of food quality and service when considering the cost. This is a common theme in Port Townsend, almost every restaurant is rated 4+ which is highly unlikely.

Food and service were sizzling. This restaurant is perfect walking distance from the Ferry. If you live on Whidbey I 1000% recommend walking on the ferry once a week for a fantastic meal.

We have tried several items on the menu and have never been disappointed. If you like it hot, ask for their additional sauces.

Wonderful customer service and a beautiful atmosphere! Our server was warm, bubbly, kind, welcoming, and helpful. My drink had whipped cream on it that wasn't listed on the menu. I said I couldn't have dairy and she was very accommodating and got me a new drink!

The veggie fajitas were to die for. I haven't had Vegan Mexican food this food this good in the Pacific Northwest. It was sizzling, well seasoned, and delicious! Best Mexican food in Washington State!

Wonderful Mexican dishes (we had Shrimp Enchiladas with Verde Sauce & a Seafood Chimichanga), tasty Margaritas and right on the waterfront, even. A new favorite in Port Townsend (along with The Fountain Cafe & Nick's)! Thanks, Crystal from Cali...you rock! 🍹💖

We had a terrible experience with the staff during a quiet afternoon lunch. An employee or family member came into the dining area and screamed at the top of his lungs and startled us so badly that my fiance had to go to the urgent care clinic due to heart palpitations and this was shortly after having a near fatal heart attack and stent placement. Due to this bad experience I may never go there again and it's sad because they have delicious food. The staff was unresponsive and uncaring about our concerns.

My friend and I went here and really enjoyed the veggie fajitas! Service was excellent. Complimentary chips and salsa. Vegetarian options. It's solid Mexican American food. Music wasn't too loud. Easy parking.
