Really good breakfast croissants and the pop N tarts are delicious. It’s not overly sweet and the guava is seriously so good. I like ordering it with a chai, the spice pairs well. The drinks are well made. The matcha is a bit too sweet for my tastes but the texture is good. Sometimes I’ll get a tea latte with a matcha tea bag for when I really want something that’s not sweet.Atmosphere is pretty chill but also lively. Everyone is easy going and friendly with good vibes, there’s a sense of community that I really dig. The music is upbeat without being overbearing and it’s motivating to listen to while writing or working.

It’s been hard to find a nice coffee place in the greater Seattle area that has good coffee and isn’t constantly packed to the point where you can’t enjoy the ambiance. Finally found that at the Scene in South Park. Amazing service with a barista who takes their time pulling the espresso shot and making sure the taste and quality are consistent. Not to mention the music choice and incredible local art displayed on the walls, with great natural light. We will definitely come back next time with a great book in hand to spend a couple of hours here.

Stopped in with our Special Ed class after the library to practice ordering and felt SO welcomed! Owner Michelle came over and introduced herself to all our students which made them feel very included in the community. Some businesses make our group feel like a burden, but so glad to have had the complete opposite experience at The Scene! Tasty coffee and pastries as well.

I've been two times to The Scene and enjoyed their coffee and pastries each time. Loved the Andes Mint Mocha and the broccoli cheddar quiche. The staff and the owner (met him the first day I went there) were friendly, and the music was on point.I used to go to Resistencia (the former name) and enjoyed the atmosphere but not so much the coffee. I think The Scene improved the coffee at this spot but could up their game in atmosphere a bit but still 4/5 in that department. I like the gearing towards black theater, but it could use a little more decor.Overall, The Scene is a great place to go if you want tasty coffee and excellent service.

I’ll begin by saying I was sad to see Resistencia go, but The Scene fills big shoes with its eclectic & relaxing atmosphere. The French Latte was rich & smoooooooove. Well done, I even grabbed an oatmeal cookie from a local black owned bakery in Tacoma & will absolutely be returning anytime I’m in Southpark.

When the owner is okay with BIPOC staff being called a “monkey” but the customer was “just joking” so he is welcomed back in, not a place I will ever step foot in again.
