River City Brewing was very much a hidden gem. Located in the back alley of a building in historic downtown Spokane, river city had a lot more to offer than it would seem at first. This is a Family/Dog (family) friendly establishment though the space is fairly cozy. They have Mexican coke and other non-alcoholic choices for the young ones, but they do not serve food. Huckleberry Ale... Best beer I've ever had. Ever since college days at U of I I've been in love with this beer. Not heavy at all. Refreshing and has the aroma and after taste of huckleberry. Delicious!Passing through town I HAD to get some as I live 2 hours away and CANNOT find it here locally. My wife and family love to visit this spot. My sister brings her two year old and five year old children as they are welcome in the establishment (even to sit at the bar) and they brew a rootbeer which the kids enjoy (even ask if we can go there!) The tap room employees are always friendly and willing to help you find something you like and offer a high five.
