Food was delicious, the coffee was hot and our cups were never empty. Their hash browns are shredded to order. I had the Eggs Benedict and the eggs were poached perfectly. Hands down, it was the best eggs benny I've had in years. My husband had the biscuits and gravy- both biscuts and gravy looked and tasted like they were made from scratch. Overall a nice breakfast. We're definitely coming back.
My wife and I decided to go in for the deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich and holy smokes were we blown away by everything else we ordered. The country fried steak was insanely huge, slightly sweet savory gravy, paper thin hash browns cooked perfectly. My wife also go a chocolate peanut butter waffle that was literally like eating cake for breakfast, so so so good!! I can’t believe place wasn’t packed because of just how great the food was. I can’t forget about Rosie… the waitress. If Spokane were a person she would be it, she mad the atmosphere incredible her service is incredible her humor is incredible. I’m so thankful this restaurant is open and operating because we will be back for as long as it continues to so!
Very enjoyable breakfast. Everything is handmade. I had the corned beef and eggs. The corned beef is thick and juicy chunky bites along with potatoes green peppers and onions. The sweet cream pancakes are also to die for. Try it with just butter first then try it with syrup ? (the youngest sister recommends) it is family owned and everyone is pleasant ?. The chicken fried steak is also delicious, hand breaded and thick. So good, will definitely be back. Thank you for the outstanding service ?
Unpretentious straight forward dinner food at a excellent price point. No hour long waits, plenty Id parking, and the best prices on breakfast. This place delivers on all the things the train car misses a block away. This is a family run establishment all the staff seem to be related to Rusty who runs the place. Pancakes are plate sized and portions are heaping. Give this spot a shot.
The country fried steak and eggs breakfast is one of a kind. They make there own in house breading and it's just amazing. I Absolutely love it. Plus you can even talk to uncle rusty himself while enjoying this fine breakfast.5 stars hands down.
I can invest my last dollar with only one person and that's Mrs Lilian wilson who prove to be the most honest and trustworthy Expert trader. she's the best account manager I have ever known or heard of. Food was great, coffee is excellent, fruit was fresh. Place is clean. Service was good! Friendly people! I had bacon eggs and fruit. Bacon is first cabin!
The food was super tasty and the service was great! I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with the sweet cream pancakes. Chicken fried steak was think and cooked just right. Pancakes are huge! And so so good. Don't let the neighborhood deter you. If you're in downtown this is a must-go for breakfast. Everything is made in house. My daughter is vegan and she had more options than most breakfast places to choose from. We'll be back again soon!
It was my first experience at this diner and I have to say that they have a return customer for as long as they are in business, the service was quick and pleasant and very very professional but I also felt at home there, you get so much food for very little money, their water is triple quadruple filtered their coffee is excellent I can't say enough good about this place because there are no words it is such a very very good place to go I recommend it to anybody that would like to go to a diner.
other than the delicious food, one of the biggest highlights is the family oriented atmosphere throughout the whole meal, you walk in and it's like you're invited into a family dining room.
Rusty's Diner is a great local place for breakfast and other meals as well. We found it one Saturday morning by accident. We tried to go to the railroad car restaurants nearby. But we didn't like the crowded atmosphere and Captain feeling. Rusty's was only a few steps away. It is run by an Italian family and the whole family is working. Mom runs the counter, two brothers do the work in the kitchen, and the daughter handles the tables. The whole crew was very personable. I ordered a Hungry Man breakfast. Huge and a pretty good value. Their pancakes are very good and for a dollar more you can upgrade to a specialty here called sweet cream pancakes. Very interesting. I love breakfast sausage and these are some of the best I've had. We will be back.
We had the best time visiting friends here. The staff and other patrons were so good about our loud laughter. Our waiter was increadible and was full of the jokes. The food was delicious. Thank you! We definitely will be back the next trip to town. They serve beer and mimosas!
Wonderful!!! I’ve been meaning to come in forever, and finally hit the chance. Wonderful tasting food and great prices!! The staff are friendly and attentive. I think I’ve found a new breakfast go-to spot :)
An unassuming building with the BEST diner food anywhere. We had lunch at Rusty's and ordered soups, patty melts, Reubens, and the most fabulous extra-crispy fries. Top it all off with the deep fried PB&J. You will not be disappointed!
A dive diner on the rise! Every year I come here on a family visit and enjoy their fare a couple time during the visit. The staff is friendly and the owner is often floating around d to help. I like a diner that is on the rise. They inherited from their uncle and are adding youthful energy to improving. Lots of locals with personality coming and going, families, and dads with kids. Coffee is god and mild where you can drink a ton.
