Went in for a birthday dinner, group of 6. Reservations made for 8pm. They had a birthday card and rose petals on the table. The place is very dim and they have little flashlights on the table to see the menus. The servers were very attentive, professional and friendly. Our guy was awesome but I forgot his name. Started with drinks, a friend had a fancy Gaucho French 75. They had a smoke bubble gun done at the table for the drink. We had appetizers, salads, bread, main course, palate cleanser plate of grapes, goat cheese, fig, and jam, and dessert. I chose the rib eye with truffle butter. It was delicious and cooked perfect. Also chose the lobster mashed potatoes. The server laid our napkins on our lap and was always polite. If you park valet, you get a little bag that has chocolate chip cookies and those were yummy. Fantastic dinner from beginning to end!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here last night, and they did an outstanding job! Our table was right by the piano, which we thought was going to be a little loud at first, but it was perfect! Travis was our server, and he was fantastic! His suggestions were spot on, and he definitely helped make the experience fun. The two winners of the night were the rack of lamb, and that amazing Key lime pie!! Both were suggested by Travis.I honestly didn't know what to expect, mainly because my wife and I don't really eat out at these types of establishments on the regular. But I must say that I happily stand by my full 5☆ review and would give them higher if I could!
The entire setting is too dark so I wasn't able to take great photos. Perfect ambiance for an intimate romantic date. Food is exquisite. Serving size were in between regular and morsel. Service charge is automatically charge 18% of the whole bill. We ordered 3 appetizer, 1 beer and 1 cocktail drink and spent $120. There was live music, it was cool. I will definitely come back to try their steak and seafood next time. The only thing that made me uncomfortable being a first timer here is the waiter taking away my food while I'm still eating. Also I noticed that if you don't dress nicely, they seat you upstairs. Majority of people wearing fancy clothes are seated in the open area downstairs.
Tonight we celebrated our 6 year anniversary. From the moment we walked in, the service was kind and professional. This is an amazing top tier dining experience and I would highly recommend reserving your experience rather than just walking in. The food was phenomenal and the dessert was equally amazing. The petals on the table were so sweet, but nothing compared to the handwritten “Happy Anniversary” note, on a large corner table.
While the food was wonderful as always, the service was extremely disappointing. I've waited for over a month to write this review to make sure I was fair in my assessment. Our son was home on leave for the first time in three years, and we were also celebrating my husbands birthday. Our dinner reservations were made for 7pm and we were seated on time; however once our drink orders were taken, it took 20 minutes for them to arrive, and they came out at different times. A few of the appetizers were served before some of the drinks even arrived. (This was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was not packed to capacity). Dinner ordered, second round of drinks and food started arriving, but we had to ask for two of our sides which were forgotten. 10-12 minutes to clear dinner plates and another 15 minutes to order dessert. We ended up leaving the restaurant after 10pm that evening. We have never had this experience before, and hope we don't have one in the future.
Zed and Ryan made my wife’s birthday experience top notch. Between the levity and witty banter between the two made the experience even more enjoyable. Can’t forget the pianist Kacey Evans for his auditory ambiance he provided while we were there. He’s a keeper. Keep up the good work team!!!!
I've been to El gaucho's maybe 15 times in the last 18 years and I've always had a good experience. It's a great place to go on a date, there is great candle lit ambience throughout the entire restaurant, and often times there's a pianist playing beautiful music that I really enjoy. I have gone here many times for a girls night out. Their happy hour menu is delicious. I've always been pleased with the drinks that they've made, and the dishes that I've had there. I recommend their Diablo steak bites and their calamari.
El Gaucho is an experience all by it self. Amazing ambience, excellent food, spectacular customer service. Enjoyable Live music. It's my favorite place. I Highly recommend it.
I have been to this restaurant a few times and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere so I purchased a gift card for my father in laws birthday in September 2021. When he went to use the gift card, El Gaucho would not honor it. As this was a birthday celebration, my in laws spent a sizable amount at the restaurant and it was disappointing they couldn't use the gift as it was intended. They are not from the area, so it's not often they get the chance to frequent this restaurant. While the food is delicious, this experience has kept me from returning or recommending this restaurant anymore. Update: The company I purchased the gift card from informed me that their system isn't connected to El Gaucho's POS system. Given this information, it's possible my in laws presented the confirmation email instead of the actual gift card. My in laws believe they did present the gift card. Maybe all e-gift cards should be printed if you're going to buy one from this place?
Let me start off by saying that I've been to a lot of restaurants. The food, and the treatment by the staff that I received, was far above and beyond my expectations. I've never been treated so special and felt so comfortable at any other restaurant I've ever been to. The food was amazing, and my steak was cooked perfectly to my liking. I was beyond impressed by the whole experience and I'll definitely be going back again once my wallet recovers from this visit.Parking: There's free street parking. Also they had complimentary valet the day I went.
This place surprised me. Upon entering, I was not impressed. It is large, dark, and the staff seemed more formal than my liking. It was not our vibe. BUT... turns out first impressions are sometimes wrong. We had a 5 star experience. The food was great. The steak tartare was prepared table side, which is usually not my thing, but our waitress (Janae) was super friendly and made it a nice experience. The appetizer could have been an entree - sorry no picture. Some might say the mixed green salad was dressed too heavily, but it worked. The salmon, lobster mashed potatoes (great gravy!), roasted sweet corn and snap peas were also delicious. Our waitress had the salad and salmon split onto two plates since we were sharing - THANKS! The key lime pie was a little weak, as it could have had more bite, but that may have been because we received a free "dessert" of dates, pecans, grapes, blue cheese and fig jam with crackers after the meal - delicious as well! So.... while it would have been pricey without our $75 Revelers Reward discount, I think we will be back.
Our servers were top notch. She was very considerate of my husband being vegan and made several attempts to offer him things that were within his restrictions. She made time on a busy Saturday night.
Phenomenal experience. Best steaks-period. Service is top-notch. The ambiance is probably among the classiest you can experience in the PNW. Live piano, dim lighting, and an impressive decor and style.
Just left from one of the best steaks I've ever had! Be leave me when I say my husband's were the best. El Gaucho's killed it! The table side service was something we will never forget! It is their "Steak Week", so we and 2 other couples did the 4 course menu! What a great experience! Thank you El Gaucho's and thank you David (our server). Definitely ask for David!
The host stand is friendly. Staff and service are above average. The live pianist was decent. Starters were excellent - the tenderloin tips are amazing. Salads are really good. Drinks are classic and properly made. Unfortunately, the star of the show (bone in ribeye) was maybe one of the worst cuts of meat I've ever had. It was a low end gristly cut with probably 1/3 of it being completely inedible. It was undercooked - I ordered med rare plus, and it came out rare. If it had been cooked to the right temp, perhaps some of the tough parts of the steak would have ended up in better shape, but as it was, I left nearly half of the steak as shredded scraps because the steak knife could not cut through all of the gristle and silverskin. Unfortunately, because the rest of the night was more or less great, I didn't say anything, but the folks clearing the table also didn't say anything when half the steak was uneaten. Given the prices, I would probably not come here again unless it was someone else's choice. At $80, the steak was a real disappointment.
