We ate here late at night at the happy hour, the menu had good choices and the chicken tacos were really good. The waitresses and customer service is really good. I would highly recommend the street tacos and the guacamole. The bar area can get a bit loud with some customers. But overall, it was a good experience.

Red Star? More like one star. I was appalled at the amount of queso I received in my to-go order. It wasn’t even enough for one person. I’ve been to dozens of Mexican restaurants in the Tacoma area and I’ve never seen a serving size as pathetic as this one. HIGHLY disappointed and I will not ever be a customer again. Fix your sorry excuses for serving sizes and maybe, just maybe, I’ll reconsider. Go to Cactus, El Toro, Moctezumas, Matador, really anywhere else if you actually want to leave full. Don’t waste your money here. I feel like I wasted $12 on absolutely nothing. The chips were not included as well. Had to pay another $3.50 for those and half of them were broken and in pieces/crumbs. Two thumbs down. A fruit cup has more substance. Don’t eat here. Support a business that cares about customer satisfaction.

Yay tacos! I was really impressed with the creativity of their food and offerings. And the happy hour was amazing! The atmosphere was cozy and hip. Staff friendly and helpful. Plus, they were open late when we needed them the most. Definitely a great place for a date, meeting, or night out with friends!

We stopped by during happy hour on a Tuesday and was told there was a wait... except there were seven tables open and only one other couple waiting; the host refused to seat us. We decided to order take out. Even in the 20 minutes that we waited for our food, no one was seated. I understood that someone who was on the list might have shown up when there were just two tables open (when we first got there), but by the time we left, there were seven tables open. Good food and they really pay attention to food allergies, but bad restaurant policy or bad customer service???

Service was decent. Ambiance is 10/10 - really nice private seating with awesome lighting. Would come back for the delicious drinks. 10/10 for the margarita. I don't know if they have cumin or salt in their spice rack but would recommend adding some flavor to their food. Their rice is equivalent to the rice you get at Taco Bell...bland and boring. Acts more as a palate cleanser than something to enjoy...Any seasoning on the black beans? Nope. This place is always packed on the weekends so I was excited to give it a try. What a disappointment when it comes to the food. The nachos were bland too. If you're actually looking for good Mexican food- I would look elsewhere. The flavor lacked so much. But it wasn't "bad" just boring.
My sister and I had a great time here! Our server, Maya, was incredibly kind, attentive, and made our experience so fun with her joyous energy. The food was great, but it was the service that made it so fun. Highly recommend.

Happy hour is some of the best I've seen in Tacoma! The tacos are absolutely delicious and ingredients are fresh. I had a gust from out of town join me for happy hour, and they were blown away by value and quality. Will be back.
