We love Wooden City. This is our go to place to eat and order food, every single week. We take every single friend and family member that visits, to this restaurant and they are impressed. Consistently amazing food and customer service keeps us coming back. Can’t wait for them to open and we can go dine in.

Wooden City continues to raise the bar as the standard for Tacoma restaurants. In these adjusted times they turned quickly to meet their customers needs. Their sense of detail in take out leaves no drop off from their stellar in house quality.

Such an amazing food with the best ambiance! Their pizza is so good and I love to go in and just order all of their small plates!

We just love this place so much! Their to-go option is quite amazing. I had the Hungarian Wax Peppers that I put over a bed of spring greens with balsamic. We also ordered the bramble cocktail kit!!! They always go above and beyond.

Hands down best restaurant in Tacoma. We cannot get enough of this place. Every single item in their menu is out of this world and amazing drinks too.

I've never written a review on here but I have to right now. Quarantine is upon us and we were tired of eating at home so to surprise my bf I ordered wooden city (we've never eaten there). I have dietary restrictions so eating at new places is really scary but I figured why not! Originally I was interested because they're doing drink kits and my bf loves old fashions but we got dinner too. They delivered right on time, I saw the driver put his gloves on before coming to the door with our food and he gave us a genuine 'thank you for your support' the food was delicious, packed well, and my bf was so excited about delivered alcohol! Amazing experience.

Despite Wooden City figuring out their delivery and pickup systems, they offered to deliver our dinner for no extra charge tonight... with a bottle of wine! Little did they know, we had just brought a new baby home 30 min before, and this dinner is everything right now!

If you want an out right fantastic dining experience or a night out for drinks I highly recommend Wooden City. This place is simply a delight. The menu is wonderful, the service is great and the Decour is warm and inviting. It's not too loud so you can have a meaningful conversation with your date or friends. It's centrally located in downtown Tacoma The only downside is parking on the weekends, so plan accordingly. Pro tip: go earlier in the week when they're not as busy and parking is easy. Pro tip 2: Try everything, the menu is that good

Best restaurant in Tacoma. Nicely decorated, great service, amazing food, delicious wine. I always leave wooden city 100% satisfied after every visit. Love taking advantage of their happy hour, their flatbreads , peel & eat shrimp & burger are always on point. It's not an inexpensive place to dine, but you get what you pay for.

My first visit last night. Warm, inviting atmosphere. Excellent food-beautiful presentation. Very attentive wait staff. Will become a regular place for me.

Great food, nice people, easy location, perfect handcrafted cocktails and even quality happy hour wine!

I really liked this place and will be back. The atmosphere is really relaxed although a little loud. It's a small space so everyone is really close together so be ready for that. It has a full bar and some great looking drinks but I didn't have any. The food came out quickly and service was just as great. Our server was very attentive but other servers also stopped by and asked if we needed anything which was awesome. We had the bone marrow, Hungarian wax peppers, pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza and the cheesecake. Pepperoni pizza had honey on it, which was very different but trust me it is delicious. The cheesecake some a orange flavor to it but it's light, fluffy and the perfect way to end the night

Perfectly captures the quintessential PNW modern American dining experience. Rustic building features combined with contemporary touches throughout. Seating space is "intimate", not at all unique for a restaurant with this level popularity or aesthetic. I didn't mind as it makes it easier for me to stare at other diner's plates and engage in light conversation with them. However it was not my wife's preference. That aside we thoroughly enjoyed all of two hours here; taking full advantage of the menu from appetizers to dessert. We loved every bite. Oh,and do NOT skip out dessert. Only a couple offerings but they alone are enough to induce coming in as part of an evening on the town. Pricing is on par with that of similar restaurants in the Seattle area (my opinion). Our server was incredibly personable and knowledgeable. Never acted rushed or impatient even though they were near capacity. This restaurant is a great addition to Tacoma and is helping to bring a hip trendy food vibe into the downtown Tacoma area.

Absolutely awesome restaurant! Seared scallops and the 1/2 chicken we're out of this world good. Best French onion soup I've had! Their cocktails were absolutey awesome and well made/unique. Cheesecake was a great way to finish the meal topped with blackberry jam. On top of all the awesome food and drinks, the server that helped us super cool and very relatable. Cool atmosphere as well!

Absolutely delicious breadsticks and pizza, the dough is so tender and tasty. The mushroom sausage pizza is amazing, fresh ingredients and everything seems to melt in your mouth. They use magic in their oven. Also, if you get the breadsticks dip them in the ranch sauce they provide as it provides a whole new level of tasty pleasure. Lighting is also very nice and the place feels fancy even though the prices are reasonable. Good all around, a gem in Tacoma!

Food here was EXCELLENT. SOOOO GOOD. The drinks were also great and terrific service. We started with the Hungarian wax peppers and they were delicious. I don't think I've ever had a similar dish and now I wish I could have them all the time (unfortunately I don't live in Tacoma). They are strong in flavor and the sausage and cheese together combine for a really good taste. 100% order these. Next, we had the bone marrow. It was also deliciously prepared and had a great taste. Loved the caramelized onions they serve on the side with it and the gherkins. We finished with the chicken wings. I'm not really a huge chicken wings person but my friend really wanted them. The breading was really good but again I'm just not nuts about chicken wings so hard for me to say much. For drinks, I got the Victoria sour which was delicious but kind of heavy so one was enough. Loved the flavor though. For my second drink I got the Prairie Line and loved it too. It's great if you like tart drinks. Our bartender Gianni was fantastic. He was attentive and prompt even though it was quite busy. He's also easy on the eyes (why do I constantly hit on staff via yelp review I'm so sorry lol). I would most definitely return whenever I come back to Tacoma.

Outstanding is the best word for this place. I had beet ravioli, scallops, and salmon toasts, which are outside my normal Midwestern meat-and-potatoes repertoire. But everything was terrific--the beer too--exceptional! Arrive early to beat the crowds!

Amazing Staff, food, and service. Extremely accommodating with our party’s food allergies. The pizza and scallops are amazing. The dough is perfect, just what I was craving.

Outstanding food and service. Small, quiet, and classy. This would be a great spot to take a date.

Such a wonderful experience. We had a date night and wooden city did not disappoint. It's very rare that EVERYTHING is wonderful. Food was amazing, drinks were on point and the staff was great. We had been there several times before and I felt it was time to leave a review. I had the lamb bolognese ( HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and he had the steak and potatoes ( cooked perfectly - true to med rare ). We shared a Caesar salad and WOW. Those homemade croutons are a game changer.

Just wow. First take is amazing... can't wait for round two! Emma started us off with a warm welcome and a gracious smile. She checked the dining room found a table leaving shortly and gave us an accurate wait time. We chose to go next door and grab a beer at an amazing local brewery, Emma took our number and offered to text us when ready... which is a great feature! Wylie was amazing as our server. Attentive, knowledgeable, and at every step offering sincere personal options that helped guide us as new guests. Really can't say enough about how nice it is to dine in a team atmosphere, really makes a difference and you can tell this team from ownership to management really care. This place is a gem for sure!!

Wooden City is my favorite place to eat in Washington State. I'm honest when I say I'm a little obsessed with their beet ravioli... and their salmon toast... and pretty much everything else I order. But let me tell you about the beet ravioli... it's heaven on Earth. It's a beautiful dish that has layers of flavors... who'd of known that creamy beets would pair so perfectly with pistachios!?

Good eats. Smaller menu but they do it all the right way. Scallops are the go to bite here. Chicken sandwich is number 2.

This is a gorgeous little place with a warm ambiance. Perfect for dates or intimate conversations. The small menu allows them to focus on the quality of those dishes. It's a bit on the pricey side so I prefer to come only during happy hour, but I've heard only good things about my friends' dinner experiences.

What a fantastic plAce to eat. Amazing food and in particular the peel n shrimp as well as the tavern burger. Simply amazing and wish we had something like this back home. The staff also were so wonderful and pleasant.

But let me tell you about the beet ravioli... it's heaven on Earth. It's a beautiful dish that has layers of flavors... who'd of known that creamy beets would pair so perfectly with pistachios!? And the little added crunch they add to the top... I think I've ordered this dish over 10 times now, and still remains to be my favorite dish. Period. The desserts are just as special. I recommend the Apple Crisp. It will be the best crumble you'll ever have. What else can I say... the space is beautiful and intimate. It's a perfect place to catch up with friends and family or even a date night. I cannot recommend this place enough. After all, it's my favorite place. Go get yourself some beet ravioli!!!

Oysters Rockefeller & Lobster Ravioli were both delicious! Unfortunately my steak was over done but the topping definitely helped the dryness of the steak.

The food, the ambiance and the service was absolutely fantastic. Went on a double date there and loved everything we had and the staff were very friendly. Definitely will be making a habit of going there more often!

I hate to say it, but a place with more reviews of the burgers just might be the best pizza in Washington. To be fair, I haven't tried all the pizza in Washington so I can't be 100% certain. What I can say is that we felt like traitors saying this was better than our favorite pizza place in CA near our house...that's the tea! *Gasp* The scene: It was somewhat empty in Tacoma, but Wooden City was popping! We were lucky enough to get a table in about five minutes as someone didn't show up for their reserved table. These tables are CLOSE together. Be prepared for a side of the next table's convo with your food! We were seated next to people who seemed to potentially be on a date. So not only did we have amazing pizza - but we got some interesting, deep side convo about dating men vs. women and finding someone even when you are 70 years old. The PIZZA - You can see the wood oven burning in the back - Crust was almost perfectly baked. So chewy and pillowy and evenly cooked on the bottom. Less than one piece was a bit burned. - Tons of cheese. Most Italian pizza is actually a tiny bit lighter on the cheese, but it stuck nicely and didn't slide off. Nice large pieces of basil. And also some sprinkles of parm. (We also got a sparkling rose, but let's be real....pizza priorities.) All in all, our experience at Wooden City was only about an hour - but it was jam packed with delight. TLDR; AMAZING pizza with a side of the next table's convo

Love the atmosphere here. The food is also delicious. Some of my favorite pizza ever. They have a great happy hour menu with discounted food and drinks. They do not take reservations for groups under 6 people but it is worth the wait. Only thing is it can get pretty loud so I would not recommend this place for a first date or someone hard of hearing.

What a great place! WC has been such a great addition to the Tacoma food scene and I'm so glad there is a place close by for tasty food and delicious cocktails. I've been here a handful of times now and it's never disappointed. The interior is warm and intimate and the service has always been wonderful. The food is delicious and perfect for sharing. We've tried the mushroom skewers, smoked salmon toast, burrata, and pizza. I've also tried almost every cocktail on the menu. Each drink is unique and delicious and I've enjoyed drinking through the selection. Perfect for a date night, a girls' night, or just a place to make a normal week day dinner more special.

This is the kind of restaurant/bar Tacoma needed for some long. The caesar salad has made to order croutons that make this salad to die for. It’s like having those little hot crunchy small French fires that break apart with one bite, but on your salad. I’d post a pic, but they tasted so good that I forgot all about taking a pic.

Unbelievable. Time and time again. Phenomenal everything. Consistent. The first time was a long time ago now. Excellent service wonderful food. The second time, something different, everything the same. Since then, we have had just about all of the offerings in the menu, the service, the ambiance, the food, the value, oh my goodness, the food. What a pleasant surprise. With the expectation that somethings got to give, sometime, one of these times ..... never a let down, never anything but excellence. Thanks ya'all. See you soon.

Trendy, yet tasty. Really good happy hour food, local feel but high ceilings and spacious.A great option for early eats.

Wooden City always has the most amazing, fluctuating atmosphere. The beginning of happy hour is quiet and very peaceful, great for date night! Toward the end of happy hour, the bar gets lively and is full of people having genuine fun. The food is amazing, the bartenders are quick and perfect every time! :)

Second visit here was wonderful! Blistered peppers were fantastic! Sorry I didn't get a photo for you! My drink, a house specialty, the spritz was just perfect! Attentive, friendly service without being over bearing, After a mediocre first visit, this definitely hit the mark.

Came here because I heard on the radio that this was rated the best pizza joint in Washington. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, bacon pesto balsamic pizza and the Blistered Hungarian Peppers to share. The wood fired pizza was fantastic! The crust is covered in freckled Parmesan cheese and that really elevates the flavor. It makes you want to eat the whole slice, crust and all. The pepperoni was magnificent and just oily enough. The bacon pesto was equally tasty. The pepper dish was 2 large sized Anaheim looking peppers filled with sausage and cream cheese, covered in green oil. They were cut open so you only got to eat one side of the pepper. They were good but I probably wouldn't order it again for $9. Nor were they something that I would rave to anyone about. Honestly, I could recreate this at home. These pizzas are a little larger than a personal size pizza. It would be hard to share one pie between two people if there wasn't something else to eat. At $15-$18 per pizza, the price is pretty high for a personal wood fired pizza. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was delicious but not $18 delicious. That's like $3 a slice!!! I am a cheapskate and if I am paying $80 for lunch, I should REALLY REALLY like my lunch. We did get 2 beers and 1 martini too. No complaints with the beverages except that the bartender seemed off. He said all the right things like "how is it?" and "Can I get you another?" but his personality was definitely lacking and we left with a feeling that he was annoyed with us the whole time. We tried to engage him in conversation or jokes but he kept acting like he was busy. Which he most certainly was not. He seemed to know more than just the basic info about the beers he had on tap but its like he just didn't care to explain them. His personality or bad day definitely helped us ask for our check faster than we expected to. Our bill was $80 and we put a $100 bill in the check folder with the receipt. Then he actually asked us if we wanted change. I'm not sure how everyone feels about this topic but I kind of found that question rude. Why would he assume that we would tip him 20%? I still thought 15% was the norm. And his service did NOT justify 20% and really nor did the food. Leaving after we paid $100 for a lunch (admittedly we did take home 1/2 of your pizzas) and not having an exceptional experience just left a bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended. We most likely wont be back nor will we recommend this place to friends. But I am happy that I got to try the pizza that is supposedly the best in WA.

Really a great Tacoma food spot particularly for late night and you need a varied menu. Lots of winners like ribs, pizza, etc.

So happy to have a new restaurant in Tacoma. Good location, burger was awesome. They hosted a group of 6 adults and 5 kids with 2 minutes notice. Cocktails looked great. Nicely decorated, comfortable.
