Great neighborhood pub. Good food and drinks. $$ - This 4 star review was from 6 years ago. UPDATE 3/8/24 - Service still great. Love the atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. Still a nice neighborhood pub. BUT, not a good night for the deep fryer!! My wife had her usual Philly Cheese steak sandwich which was awesome, as usual. I wasn't feeling the $16 for my usual Chef Salad so I opted for the fish and chips. Big mistake. One piece was way overcooked and the other two pieces were literally dripping with the oil from the deep fryer. My daughters chicken strips were way over-done to the point they were too chewy to eat. The dinner salads and drinks were great so I'm hoping it was just an off night in the kitchen but I probably won't be ordering anything deep fryed from here again. We'll be back soon and hopefully will have better food than we got tonight.

Jake's has good food and a friendly staff. When I am in town again I look forward to visiting again.
I brought a large party here. One of my guests scared off the service. (Sorry about that) It was a great time, feel bad about the weird door and chair situation. Large parties are tough! But Jake's was awesome. Great atmosphere. Awesome food.

Great food!! Clean environment. Great service. I left my lunch very satisfied.(this part updated) food Still great poppers with the smokey raspberry dipping sauce had me over the moon! Still have an amazing club with that thick bacon!
My favorite place in Portland... although they no longer wear the white formal jacket/vest as bartenders ...The classic dark wood designs w/the jackets always reminded me of the bar in "The Shining"Which was filmed not far from here at Timberline lodge
