Roadside Ice Cream and Diner

Always a wonderful experience here! I especially love the swivel chair seating right in front—it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The place itself has such a cozy, inviting vibe, and everything on the menu is priced so reasonably. I’ve come here time and time again, but I’m only now leaving a review because it truly deserves one. The staff are always such a joy to talk to—friendly, kind, and incredibly efficient at what they do. The food portions are generous, the flavors never disappoint, and every visit leaves me looking forward to the next.

We stopped on our way to Cheteck....This was the most amazing ice cream I have ever had!!!

Roadside offers something you can’t find on the list or at most other business establishments. They offer genuine friendliness and personal service. The owner has a sense of community and authentic appreciation for customers that is unheard of along with great ice cream!

Place was not very busy, I should have taken it as a sign but we decided to take a risk. To put it as bluntly as possible the food is not worth the price. I asked to add bacon to my burger and was told that it was a 5$ upcharge. 5$ for bacon?? I just want a piece or two not a whole package of bacon, ridiculous. So I skipped the bacon, burger was meh anyway, looked and tasted like a frozen patty. My partner ordered the footlong chili dog and recieved two regular hotdogs with cheese and chili on them. Chili tasted like it was from a can. Ordered a Mt Dew, recieved it but no soda fountain to refill myself and a refill was not offered. Ordered deep fried cheese curds, which were just okay, not fresh enough to merit any praise. Paid over 60$ for two entree's and a side item. Liked it waaaay better when it was a dairy queen, could have paid 30$ for the same meal, and not only would the price be cheaper but the food will be better. Just go to Dairy Queen instead or upgrade to Culvers, it will still be cheaper and better quality than this place. I will never eat here again, leaving it at the roadside as the name suggests.

Super disappointing. Ordered a foot-long hot dog and despite it being on the menu, with pictures in other reviews, I was served two standard basic hot dogs I could have grabbed from my freezer. And the cashier did not mention at all that I would be receiving two basic hot dogs instead of a foot-long as advertised. $60 for one hamburger, the hot dog(s), two fries and two drinks—no way that mediocre meal was worth $30.

Stopped here for ice cream. The staff was very friendly and the ice cream was great.

Incredible customer service when I was there tonight. It was very busy, but the line moved quickly. The owner was greeting people at the door, and ensuring his customers felt welcomed and satisfied.

Fun place. Great food & desserts. Awesome staff. Excellent service. Pleasant staff makes me smile every time I'm there. I also like that it's a family business

Ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers and 2 small drinks. $35.50!!!!won't go there again. Waited 20 minutes for our food. Not a good experience

Very very expensive... was not expecting to pay 12$ for a small mixer... about 2x/3x the price of a normal one...

Best fast food in Eau Claire, also they use high quality and often local ingredients. (Including Eidin Eggs!) Word of warning though: make sure you know what you're doing before you order anything bigger than a small, IYKYK.
