This brewery is off the beaten path and a bit hidden... But has an atmosphere to die for!! We live in walking distance and walked here for a late night drink after a homemade dinner :-) They serve mainly IPA's, but I loved their "wheaty" beer!

Interesting place in an area you would never guess had a small brewery/ taproom of unique beers. I think I know why the funk in the name... Some friend who are big fans brought us here on a Sunday afternoon an hour before they were to close. It was pretty quiet. I am not a fan of sours or really odd ball beers, unlike our friends, so I ordered the only "normal" beer on the menu and it was good. They do have sodas & kombuchas for the non-beer drinkers. The space is small but welcoming and they have shelves full of board games. They do have some food, I think I saw pizza? besides some chips but we passed on all. If you like sours this is the place for you, but not for me.

Be prepared to be amazed. Pretty wild selection of beer styles with a focus perhaps on lambics, saisons, ales fermented with wild yeast and fruited beers.Tried several and found something special with each. Particularly enjoyed the Foeder Saison.Real interesting. Also an excellent variety of bottled brews to follow you home ...?

They had the best sours! The owner was super friendly and gave us some out of towner places to go to next on our adventure. Would reccomend to anyone who likes good sours and good people.

On par with anything from Belgium. And if by chance you didn't know what you're getting into here - they serve some guest taps. Great service, great vibe, great art, great selection. I'm not sure anything else in the midwest compares for true Lambic brewing.

A truly wonderful brewery. You don’t find many places doing lambic-style beers, especially in American craft beer, so we need to cherish funk factory. Between the incredible patio, and the cosy taproom, Funk Factory has a wonderful selection of drafts and onsite bottles. Go out and try them once, you’ll be back again and again.

While I am not myself a huge fan of sours or aged lambics, I love living in a world where a brewery like this exists and has a taproom. The taproom itself was nice and comfortable, including the bathroom that had some "funky" lighting. Dan was very courteous and friendly and I was served quickly. They had a LOT of bottles to buy, as well as cans of the Untitled beers. My feedback would be that it looked like they had 5-7 choices to sample on tap while simultaneously having a LOT of other of their beers in bottle you couldn't sample. Personally, I like to try before I buy. The pours were also somewhat large for a flight, and no standard flight option. While I recognize that smaller glasses and flights has some hassle, I would have appreciated having more choices in smaller portions so I could sample more. Then, I might have left with a bottle or two of something I really loved. Thanks for the hospitality & funky cat stickers. Very cool logo.

I'm not a huge funky sour fan, but the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the taproom is very inviting. The sours I had were tasty (but still not my go-to). For people who don't like sours they also have guest beers. Recommended for sour lovers!

So. Good. Everything is simply delicious. Like sours? Go here. Don't like sours? Go here and have your mind changed. Trying to convince the wife to let us move near here.
