My first meal there. Linda and all of the staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food was VERY good. The prices were quite reasonable. I will not hesitate to go back if I am ever in Manitowoc again.

I've been coming to Golden Flame for the last 28 years. It's a family favorite, the atmosphere is so welcoming and the place just vibrates with love.

Our first time at this restaurant. We were very impressed with our meals. My husband had liver and onions. He said it was sooo tender. I had a generous portion of mashed potatoes with meatloaf smothered in gravy. Yummy good! Our meals ended with dessert! He had butterscotch pudding and I had Tapioca. Next time we need to come for pie and coffee. No room for it this time.

This is an older family restaurant but I was satisfied with the food and service. I came in for lunch last week and was promptly seated and the hostess immediately poured me a cup of coffee. I ordered a ham and cheese club which comes with a cup of homemade soup, choice of potato, homemade cold slaw and pickles. Portion and price were both good. The server was nice and attentive and the food was very good. On a cool day in December, I like the fact that soup comes with the meal.

Stopped in here on a Friday night for supper. The place was moderately busy, with limited waitstaff who were running their butts off. We were seated, and after reviewing the menu, I decided on the fried haddock Ala Carte dinner. It included 2 pieces of haddock, choice of soup or salad, choice of potato and pudding, or jello for dessert. I chose the clam chowder. The soup came out quickly and was hot and creamy. Just your average clam chowder. A short time later, my meal came, and I was not impressed. The breading on my fish was soggy, and the fish tasted undercooked. The fries were luke-warm, and the green beans were from a can and seriously overcooked. I chose the chocolate pudding for dessert, and it was ok. Nothing spectacular. The service was lacking, and we were not checked on until we were done and asked for the bill. Overall, the experience was ok, and I may be back tontry again as if my first experience was bad, I will usually give the place a second chance, as everyone has an off day once in a while.

I checked this restaurant out on a Friday for dinner. There were several Frisay fish specials offered. I decided to go with the senior perch dinner. This is the same as the Friday special with one less piece of fish and at a lower price. The soup that came with the meal was out quickly. I chose the rotini soup. This is a rotini pasta in a thick tomato broth. The pasta was overcooked as pasta cooked in batches of soup tend to be. The soup had a nice flavor. The rest came out shortly afterward. The green beans were also overcooked and kind of soft and mushy. The country fries were cooked to a perfect golden brown. The perch was deep fried and had a crispy coating. I enjoyed the fish. The meal was ok for the price.

When my husband & I was in Manitowoc for 8 months, this was one of our favorite breakfast place to go. Really affordable, clean, friendly, & fast service family owned restaurant. You find any seat and sit yourself and the waiters will quickly welcome you with a hot beverage to drink and take your order if you’re ready. Seats filled up fast around 10:30am-12pm. Highly encouraged to go early if you can. Been to other breakfast restaurants but they don’t beat Golden Flame’s good services & their passion to make your day. If you’re in town looking for a breakfast place, I highly recommend this lovely little family restaurant.

Everything about golden flame is simply mediocre. I have never had anything great there and we grew up going there. If you are going for breakfast its decent enough to eat. Not a place I would choose to go on my own will because plenty of other places do breakfast way better.
