Been coming here forever. Usually good. Don’t go here after breakfast as the kitchen apparently gives up entirely and the “servers” are inept at best. But what else can you expect from Wisconsin :/

My partner and I frequent here quite often, every time we are greeted my smiling friendly faces makes the environment welcoming and warm. It’s very clean and well kept. The food is homemade and delicious. The staff are efficiently trained and very polite. Definitely recommend!!!

Exactly what a truck driver needs when he stops hungry for a break, a half rack of BBQ Rips. Truck parking is available.Highly recommended?

The last two times I have been there, I was less than impressed with my food. My dinner didn't have any flavor and the omelette was runny the last breakfast visit. Then the wait staff never came back to our table after delivering our food. There are better options in the area.

Generally good overall. The diner is warm and inviting with a classic rustic lodge theme. Painting of various outdoor scenes, hang along the walls and are priced for sale. I chose the sirloin steak and eggs this morning and was pleasantly surprised as the steak came out a perfect medium rare but could have been better with a little bit of course salt. Eggs were over-easy without being too runny and the hashbrowns were good and crispy on the outside. The lady serving and taking orders was very nice and kept our drinks full. Haven't tried it, but they have many baked goods for sale in the case up front, and they look amazing. Great local place to stop right off of I-94 in Mauston Wisconsin. Bonus at this stop! They have a tenant next door that just happens to be Carr Valley Cheese, and if you haven't tried Carr Valley, you have definitely got to check them out. And the only possible way this could get any better? They have semi/camper parking, too! In short, you definitely have to check this out! Truly an 'Oasis'.

We stopped in after a weekend together as a family. We had a big group. We were greeted with rudeness that we should have made reservations. We had no idea that should have happened. We sat at different tables and wanted seperate bills, which was fine, but were still forced to order from a limited menu. Then when we looked at a regular menu, it was snatched out of our hands and told we can't order from it. We couldn't understand. It wasn't busy. We walked out.

Don't bother if you have a group. Limited menu and mediocre staff.

It’s been a while since we were here, but we enjoyed a wonderful lunch here and definitely will put it on the list to return to! The place was very busy, but we were well attended to buy waitress staff. Food portions were wonderful and food was affordable, hot, and fresh. The bakery was absolutely excellent and was reminiscent of the former pinecone truckstop near the forest. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite to eat for a couple or family! Definitely looking forward to returning for breakfast in the future!

Worst food and service I've ever had... I ordered breakfast, 2 eggs over easy, hashbrowns (crispy), toast and bacon. The eggs were under cooked (I cut into the egg white and it was still runny) the hashbrowns looked like they were mashed potatos fried. Our waitress dropped the food off and didn't come back to check on us but to drop the check off. Only then could I tell her the problem with my food. The manager took off $2 from the meal and left for the day. We had to go to the counter to get a to go box for my husband's food and the check. All during the time we sat there all the staff stood behind the counter and talked gossip. A young man had a table in front of us and he checked on the over and over. I thought give them a break they might be busy or short staffed. Hmm nope, we were one of six tables, nothing more than 4 at a table and there were at lease 6 ladies behind the counter. Can't recommend.

Ordered the walleye paid $15 for a single fillet and a salad the apple pie was $2.58 and would've been great if it didn't taste like dish soap wasn't washed off dishes completely before baking/

The bread rolls they make are delicious, very heavy yet light in texture. I order them when I have a formal dinner or a event . Highly recommend them to anyone

Ordered a 3 egg Denver omelette no cheese crispy hash browns And please cook the ham and veggies because for some reason most restaurants in Wisconsin cook the eggs then throw the cold ham crunchy green peppers and onions on it and fold it up. Well this is wha I got. A bed of crispy hash browns with a couple of scrambled eggs on top of that and cold ham and crunchy green peppers and onions sprinkled over that. I mentioned that to the waitress and she said that's the way they're cook makes it. I did not refuse or return I just won't go here again. The waitress gave ok service but I thought $16 and tip was a bit much for a thrown together breakfast
