Sadie was our server. You can’t do better in the Twin Cities. Funny, attentive, works well with all types, and that was our table tonight.
Excellent popovers, great ribs, and the chicken champagne and a relish dish. This 100 year old place is such a good time.

We used to love this place - told everyone we knew that it was worth the drive. But the last two times the food has been extremely disappointing. The ribeyes were pale, flavorless and overcooked with no marbeling. It’s unfortunate as we used to make the one-hour drive several times a year. But after the last two visits, I don’t think we’ll be returning.

I asked for a strawberry daiquiri. 10 minutes later. Sorry we don't have any strawberries. Okay, Killians Red. Another 10 minutes. Sorry we don't have any. Water is fine, thank you.
Care to order? Yes, I'll have the deep fried cod fish fry. Do you want all of your fish deep fried? Isn't that what I just said? 5 minutes of telling me how I can have broiled too. I should have listened. The cod pieces were very small and burnt to a crisp. Apparently the cooks don't like deep frying fish. I peeled the breading off and ate the tasteless, dry cod.
It's very loud in the dining room because everyone has to shout in order to be heard.
My wife's shrimp dinner was very good, however.
She was happy. I was very disappointed.

Hostess was rude , had reservation and still had to wait almost 30 min to be seated . Waitress was doing a great job (drinks could’ve come faster but it was busy )Too loud to visit with friends. Food was ok 2 out of the 4 had large bay leaf in the soup . Would not travel a hour to come back.

one of the worst experiences i have ever had, worst establishment ever. so so rude, we were seated much later than our reservation and we sat there an hour later with nothing at our table not even water, no waiter ever came up to us. we went up twice to ask for a waiter and no one ever showed up, we ended up just walking out. it ruined the birthday dinner we had planned, all around rude establishment!

Extremely disappointed by the service. Went for my mom’s birthday with a reservation at 6 pm. Forced to stand around the bar, in a busy area, waiting for 1 specific table. Once that table cleared, we weren’t seated for another 15 minutes. After waiting 45 minutes past our reservation, we waited another 15 minutes and still had not been waited on whatsoever. After speaking up twice, ultimately we left and went somewhere else. Very very poor service. Do not rely on your reservation.
My wife loved the deep-fried Cod while I enjoyed the prime rib. The popovers were great!

The busboy tonight was the rudest person I have ever come into contact with at a restaurant. By far one of the worst dining expenses I have ever had. I would highly recommend anywhere else.

We had a fantastic meal and the service was impeccable except the Prime Rib was a bit fatty. My only issue was we were seated at a table directly under a vent that blew cold air on us. It was so cold! We commented on it to our server but the place was packed so moving was probably not an option. It really took away from the atmosphere so much I could only give 2 stars for that reason. We froze our butts off. I will not sit at that table again.

Usually the food is good, but last night (Aug. 14th 2024) was not good. The soup was to salty, french onion tasted like onions were over ripe, pop overs were over cooked with a hard crust, steak was was not supposed to be blackened but it had black burnt stuff on it from the grill and the Alfredo pasta had chunks of parmesian in it making it gritty and no one would eat it. Will not be going back with how much we were charged for our meal. Wish I would have complained more when we were there but it was a friend's birthday so I didn't want to make an issue and finding out later everyone in our group had the same issue. Not sure if it was the waitress or the cook but service was extremely slow. Wait 20 minutes to get salad with just plain ice berg lettuce. Took 2 hours to get food.
Great chicken Alfredo linguini, great waitresses, and polite people. Would highly recommend

We came in on a Friday night with a rowdy party of 20+ and Vivian was an absolute super star for us. Food came out on time and correctly. She was knowledgeable, polite and professional. As someone who has worked in the industry for a decade plus, Vivian is a solid amazing server. Give her a raise or I will poach her for my restaurant.
