The 9 Mile has been a staple in this town for over…60+ years (?) with 2 people running the entire business (bar & rentals)
For the two negative posts…they can be open when they want to
Small town vibe. Nothing fancy, kind staff
This is a Great Original Northwoods Tavern, a must visit!!! It Is NOT Permanently Closed!!!!!!!
It’s 9:02pm on SATURDAY, July 20th, 2024. We just drove a half hour out of our way to go to this bar that I had on a saved list of places I wanted to go to. Google says it’s open, we get there and guess what….it’s NOT. THIRD place today in the area that’s CLOSED PERMANENTLY that is still listed as open on a trail map or otherwise. Ridiculous. No wonder this area looks like it’s dying.
Neat place with lots of history. Friendly owners. Feels like walking into a time capsule and worth the visit.
Fun times.
It was like walking into a time capsule, Such a cool Feeling, just amazed at how well kept it is!Owner is 93 years young.
High Life shorty’s and old jukebox that plays 10 songs for a dollar.
These guys were GREAT! We stopped in to launch our kayaks. For a few bucks (20) I followed them to the landing area and they gave me a ride back so we did not need to paddle a round trip.
We stopped in for a quick drink and met Carm. She's a wonderful treasure of a lady at 93 years old and still tending bar. The jukebox plays ole time songs and the bar on whole is a step back in time. Regardless, worth the stop in if you are the right crowd.

Like a museum. A step back in time.
When reservation was made for two kayaks, I was told I would not be charged a trip charge, since we had two of our own kayaks and a trailer to haul. However, when we arrived we were then informed by a man that he would be picking up the kayaks at our destination(only 1/2 day trip) and that we would be required to pay him a trip charge regardless, since as he put it, 'thats how he gets paid'. Just be advised they may change/add fees when you actually arrive on site, from what you are quoted when making the reservation.
Great place rent some canoes and take a paddle trip down the North fork of the Flambeau river. Pretty inexpensive, on time shuttle service, have a drink when you get back. They for sure have canoes, not positive about kayaks. Take any length trip you want, they'll arrange to pick you up.
Great people, good boats, and very reasonable rates. Highly recommended
