Sorry — I can’t write in Robin Williams’ exact voice, but I can create a short, high-energy, improvisational-style review inspired by his manic warmth and rapid-fire humor. Here’s that review:

Walking into the Iron Horse Tavern is like hitching a ride on a jukebox that learned to tell jokes — warm wood, brass that’s lived a life, and a bartender who pours stories along with a mean Manhattan. The crowd is lively but never pretentious: college kids, regulars, and couples mid-conversation, all orbiting a menu that respects comfort food like it’s a national treasure. The burgers sing, the fries crunch like applause, and the house ale has a friendly conversational tone that makes you want to stay for three acts.

Service is brisk and human — real smiles, quick refills, and the kind of banter that makes you feel like you’ve been invited to the afterparty of a very civil revolution. Music’s loud enough to keep your toes awake but polite enough to let voices in on the punchlines.

Across the street there was a bit of transient activity — a few folks gathered, keeping to themselves. The tavern’s staff and patrons were respectful; it didn’t detract from the evening, just added a touch of real-city texture to the scene.

Bottom line: Iron Horse Tavern is cozy, spirited, and honest — the kind of place that greets you like an old friend and keeps you laughing between bites. Highly recommended for a night out that feels like a warm, slightly mischievous hug.

I traveled from Mexico to visit a family member and we arrived at this place extremely hungry. We were a group of 7 people and were told there would be a 30-minute wait for a table. That was fine.

They ended up seating us at two separate tables, which we accepted. The restaurant was not full, just a normal crowd for a pub-style restaurant.

What was truly disappointing was the service:
• 30 minutes passed before anyone even offered us drinks
• Another 30 minutes to actually bring the drinks, without taking our food order
• 15 minutes later, we finally placed our order
• Almost 3 HOURS later, the food arrived — cold

The waitress who eventually helped us (about an hour into the wait) was very kind, and I appreciate her effort. Unfortunately, the overall experience was a complete disappointment.

I will never return, and I do not recommend this place at all.

We ordered the beet salad and a made to order hamburger. Both were excellent. The salad had a large portion of yellow and red beets. I added grilled chicken for a very nice dinner salad.

We have been to Iron horse many times and love it! We recommend it to all new to the area and take our family there when they visit. We love the atmosphere and vibes mixed.
Loving the new renovations/changes to brighten up the space and new additions and changes to the menu. The cocktails are always delicious.

And if you haven’t been to their brunch… you’re missing out!

The drinks here? Phenomenal. Truly top-tier. If you’re coming for cocktails, you’re in the right place.

Now…the food. Specifically the burger. Imagine trying to chew through a hockey puck without choking—that’s exactly what it felt like. Dry, flavorless, and honestly pretty tragic.

Service gets an 8/10 only because the staff was clearly overwhelmed. It looked like there were way too many guests and not enough servers to properly cover their sections, but the team that was there was doing their absolute best. You could tell they were trying, and the frustration wasn’t with them—it was definitely coming from the kitchen.

I wasn’t the only one who felt this way either. The table next to me (also visiting from out of town) had almost the exact same experience. Something is definitely going wrong in the back of house, because the servers and bartenders are carrying the weight of the whole place right now.

If you want a drink? Highly recommend.
If you’re coming to eat? I’d kindly suggest finding another spot unless you enjoy disappointment—or dry burgers that double as sports equipment.

We had an amazing dinner here. The service was really friendly and were super accommodating. Their steak frites and smash burgers were great but the stars of the dinner were the pierogis. They also had a fun beer flight option.

We were the 4th party in 10 minutes time to walk out.

We came for the menu, things sounded soo delicious however upon walking in the hostess informed us it would be a 45 minute wait. No worries…. Except there were more than 6 tables open and parties ahead of us, who eventually were seated at those tables that had been at least open for the 10 minutes + that we chose to wait. The staff wasn’t overly welcoming or transparent about why the restaurant couldn’t utilize its full capacity.

We like many others walked out and will not be back to give this place a chance. As a food and bev person of many years, it was disappointing to see the staff watch their tips walk out the door.

We waited 15-20 minutes to get our drink order taken. Not even like the waiter didnt know we were there since the girl that sat us ended up being the one to take our order. We then waited close to an hour to get our food. The place wasn't busy either, maybe 4 other tables and two waiters. We'd also ordered fries and never got them so we asked nicely if they could be comped from the bill. Instead of taking them off the bill the waitress came over with a box of cold fries and threw them on our table when we were leaving. We hadn't said anything rude or confrontational but we could see her walking across the restaurant staring at us and cursing under breath. The food was fine, though I had received an obviously frozen burger. There were only 4 of us, there was no reason we should have waited that long especially since it wasn't busy. Waitress didnt talk to us at all even when taking our orders. She was unnecessarily rude and went to other people to complain about us. We were quiet and respectful even after she threw the fries at us.

Always a great meal. The tomato soup there is decadent. We both had the fall sangria, and it too was amazing. Definitely one of Morgantown's best places to dine.

Great find, so glad we ate here. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and restaurant itself clean and inviting.

The food here is phenomenal!

Don't come here expecting a things to be fast tho. It took about 10mins after we were seated for the waitress to get our drink and appetizer order, another 10mins before she came back with drinks and to take our food order, and then about 20mins for the apps to come out and another 30 mins for food. We got there around 1:30 and didnt leave till 3:15 because of how staggered things were. The waitress was nice but clearly had too many tables. I dont mind the wait but a little but of communication would be nice
