The drinks and food were on point, one of the best old fashioneds I have ever had! Everything was so incredibly good! But not only that, Alma Bea also really took care of me as a vegetarian and catered to me so unexpectedly. I am truly amazed with this restaurant. I also fell in love with our waitress Julia, she was the most sweetest, charming server I think I've ever had! ? We will definitely be going back and recommend this restaurant to everyone❤️

I dined here this evening with my parents, we were visiting from out of town. This restaurant was recommended to us, and Alma Bea did not disappoint. The food was amazing and our server, Scott, was excellent. He greeted us in a timely manner, was positive and professional the entire time, and made us all smile to no end. His service made all the difference to our dining experience! We will be coming here again and asking for Scott. ?

This is the second time we've eaten here. The food is amazing and unique. A bit pricey but good. Our service the first time we went was fine. The second time it seemed like our waiter wanted to spend more time behind the bar then taking care of his tables. I had to get up to ask him for a second glass of wine. Just wish he had been a bit more attentive. They do have an awesome Malbec. I even bought a bottle and took it home for another day. The pawpaw pie was so something special! We'll be back!

The servers were very friendly and the place is gorgeous. We came for my birthday the last two years to try the pies after seeing the sign outside. Truth be told they tasted great, but the slices are really small and I'm pretty sure we paid almost $7 total. Not expecting huge portions, but for the price point wanted the slice I received to fill at least half the container it came in.

Great atmosphere. Servers were all friendly and prompt; one even brought us a small sample of Brunswick stew to try. Excellent beer & wine choices too. We’ve been to Shep-town several times but this place is new to us. I think it used to be an old warehouse. Tapas choices were delicious & plentiful.

We chose this place to gather on the eve of my mother's funeral, on a Saturday night, and called ahead. We were unexpectedly hit with a $20 additional charge PER PERSON, although we were out on the porch, having drinks and appetizers. We only found this out because our guests mentioned it after they paid their bill. It was very embarrassing for us. My warning to you is if you have a group, make sure you have a written contract beforehand, stipulating the specifics of any extra charges. Also, this place is not prepared for groups of people standing and having drinks, so do not choose this place for that sort of gathering. The waiter was terrific, the food and drinks were not objectionable, but dealing with the owner afterwards was very much so.

Best kept secret in Shepherdstown! My wife and I had the rock fish and it was outstanding. Servers were on top of their game, kudos to Julia and Scott they were attentive, informative and fun to interact from the moment we were seated. Great beer selection, we went with the Big Timber Porter and weren't disappointed. Thanks for a great dining experience!

We stayed in the area two nights and made a trip to Alma Bea each night, for dinner, and for drinks and dessert only.Everything, from cocktails to desserts, is very well made and has such matching interesting flavors. I had the smoked duck breast, and it was incredible; melted in the mouth. My husband enjoyed his half smoked chicken in bourbon brine very much and basically sent a clean plate back, lol. We're offered a bread basket with pimento cheese and Brunswick stew as appetizers and impressed with both!Their cocktails with seasonal fall flavors and desserts (pumpkin cheesecake and bread pudding) were fantastic additions to our dining experience here.Highly recommend this place! No pics because we're busy with digging in!

After staying at Carriage Inn Charles town we saw this restaurant recommended by the staff.Excellent food!! Situated right next to a train track you will probably see it go past and the wall decor of a train was fitting.Rustic decor and clean environment.Delicious free bread appetizer with pimento cheese.Terrific Cobb salad.Beef stew samples was delicious! You can buy a container if you'd like.Good wings ( I prefer crispy) and would have liked regular sweet potato fries instead of thin straws.Good chocolate pie but a vanilla crust would have tasted better. Overall a win and a recommendation!
