“This! Place! Needs! More! Hype!Okay, back to typing normally.Kar's Char is a relatively new Texas-style bbq place inside of Lowe Mill. It occupies the full restaurant space that used to belong to The Veggie and belonged to Happy Tummy before that. It's to the left of Piper and Leaf as you face P&L from the parking lot. I only belabor this point because some folks do have a hard time navigating Lowe Mill and no one should miss out on giving this place a try because they can't find it.I saw a few posts about Kar's Char when they first opened and have had them bookmarked since then. Recently, I was in the area after work around 2 PM and looking to kill some time before a doctor's appointment. I was feeling hungry and figured why not give them a go and enjoy a little time at the Mill while I waited.I arrived and took a few minutes to look at the menu. I am, admittedly, freakishly obnoxious and snobby about barbeque and was determined to have a positive experience, so I decided not to play with fire that day and instead decided to order one of their burgers, which I'd seen a few people rave about online. I selected their hatch green chili cheeseburger and placed an order for that. It comes with one side and I decided on macaroni and cheese. They have bottled drinks available next to the register and so I grabbed a water out of the cooler to round things out.My burger was cooked fresh just for me so I had a few minutes to hang around and take in the fun, nerdy, classic Lowe Mill ambiance. This is a truly local business and they seem very dedicated to supporting and uplifting their fellow businesses in and around the Mill. The service I received was incredibly kind and welcoming -- they really do seem like lovely folks here.My burger came out piping hot and cooked perfectly, with slightly crispy, charred edges and a juicy center. It was a delicious burger, slightly spicy but nothing scary, and I especially loved the chili lime aioli -- added a nice creaminess and moisture. To my pleasant surprise, the soft, lightly toasted bun held up to all the goodness pretty well! Next time I will probably ask for no pickles -- I found their flavor a little overwhelming -- but I am also hot and cold on my feelings about pickles so your mileage may vary! I say keep them on if you're a big fan, and take them off if not. :)The macaroni and cheese was enjoyable but not as good as the burger. Next time I come I will probably try out a different side.Overall, 4.5/5, with extra high marks for the hatch green chili burger and the charming, welcoming staff/owners. I'll be back to try the actual barbeque, and certainly to have another burger!“

“The most delicious bbq, I’ve ever had. I placed a very large order for an event and they absolutely outdid themselves. The ribs and chicken were juicy and so flavorful. OMG!!! So delicious. The green beans, baked beans and macaroni and cheese was perfection. They had it ready on time and with all the fixings. Everyone at the event raved about the food. I highly, highly recommend. “Great food at a fair price and a quick turn around after you order. I love when a food truck finds a core menu and sticks to it because it means you get quality food without a long wait. I had the shredded chicken sandwich plate. Chicken was just right as far as moisture and had just the right spice as it wasn’t bland but just enough flavor to not be over whelming. I had mac and cheese plus beans as my two sides and both where just right for me.“

“They were very professional even when the customer in front of me was being very rude to them about food she didn't receive. They told her very politely that they would remake it for but she was not satisfied with that an accused them of lying. They handled it very well.“

“I ordered several whole BBQ chickens and baby back ribs. I originally wanted slab ribs but they were sold out even though I ordered in advanced. The chicken was moist and cooked perfectly and the taste was outstanding. The ribs were good as well. I will definitely be ordering from them again!“

“Smelled this wonderful, smoky BBQ aroma from the next block over, stopped in and had a meal that was one of the most outstanding I've ever had. Got smoked chicken with blackeyed peas and smoked mac and cheese, along with honey-buttered toast and it was a truly exceptional meal. We've eaten a LOT of BBQ over the years and this place easily outdoes the majority of them, with the super-friendly owners, inside and outside dining and the quality of the food. “Listen y’all, chain steakhouse dining is as American as apple pie, and tonight was an experience to put on Mount Rushmore. Friday night, peak dinner hour, we were seated in 10 minutes, greeted promptly, our server Chris was on his game with bread and drinks out within 5 minutes of our seating, salads out at the 15 mark, entrees at the 30, such that we were done, leftovers expertly boxed by an attentive but not intrusive Chris, to-go drinks in hand, paid and out the door by the 45 minute mark, 55 since we put our name in at the door. A symphony of management. And the food, you ask!? Good! The Outlaw Ribeye remains the pinnacle of American chain steakhouse dining for consistency, flavor, and value. Everyone involved should be commended.“

“We had Jell’s 4 ever cater an 86 person event last Saturday night. They showed up on time, and served hot, delicious food to all my guests. We were 100% impressed with everything about them.“

“My 1st time, it was good. Wasn't expecting the slaw to be cold on the slaw dog. The bread was stale, but nothing 20 seconds in the microwave couldn't help. After heating it up, I stopped eating my loaded potato to eat it. The potato was very good, I had to save it for later, and it was even better! Will definitely be back!!“

The food truck was at the music in the park at big spring park & they sold out of their chicken which was fine with me I wanted their brisket sandwhich! & let me tell you the seasons they cook that brisket in is AMAZING ???? yummy I got the sandwich & a side of plain lays chips & both red & white sauce which was also good!!!!
