On this visit, I opted for the ox knee and tendon soup (도가니탕) for health reasons, while my sister ordered the chicken noodle soup (닭칼국수) along with a dumpling plate (만두 접시). The portion of the chicken noodle soup was incredibly generous, and we couldn't finish it all, so we had leftovers to enjoy later. The meal was satisfyingly filling.“

“Just like my grandmother's cooking! Authentic Pinoy food. Get your friends hooked on this place it's legit! My family often will use their catering services for our gatherings. “We both had the chicken katsu curry (subtotal of $14.50) on a Wednesday night. Our dishes had a good amount of chicken katsu, savory (but not spicy) curry, spice powder on the side, and garnishes (tempura flakes, green onions, and red ginger). Because of the amount of quality flavor and good pricing, I'd say that curry here is well worth trying out in Buena Park. We asked the waiter if the curry had peanuts, and he said that there were not. Ingredients here tasted great. The chicken katsu tasted tender. The curry was rich although leaning toward a soupy than a thick texture. It tasted savory with the right amount of sweetness when complemented with red ginger. The tempura flakes added just an extra slightly savory touch to the dish. I used all the spice powder, and it added a nice kick to the dish. Overall, the dish tasted amazing and became yet another reminder that you can't go wrong with katsu curry. I had no problem parking close to the front of the restaurant. Inside, I noticed that the restaurant looked clean with good lighting. For most of the time, we ate inside as the only patrons at one of a handful of tables. The waiter provided us water, and we looked at a contactless menu prior to ordering. It also had a good music volume level, thus adding to its relaxed ambience. After eating, a staff member you the check, and you pay in front.“

“Finally made it here!! My husband and I went here for date night recently and we ordered the two kinds of meat, the creamy udon, and the cheese tonkatsu. We happen to come on a Friday night a little after they open and luckily it wasn't busy just yet. The service was really fast and the quality of the meat was amazing! The cheese tonkatsu was a bit heavier so by the time we finished grilling our meats and eating some of the udon, we were too full to finish the cheese tonkatsu. The creamy udon is a beef curry udon with a topped layer of this special cream that has this grainy texture similar to mashed potatoes. It was good to try, but I wouldn't get it again. I'll probably try the other noodles that they offer. I really enjoyed the concept of grilling the meat in front of you to your liking. It comes as a set so it was a perfect meal. Will be back with some friends!“

Tried their broiled dumplings, fresh, non frozen and tasty. Fried chicken is juicy flavorful and delicious, it goes well with the dumplings actually. Highly recommended.“

“Walked in on a Saturday night - it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. We ordered the Choose 3 Combination (M), Kimchi Cold Noodle, and Beef Tartare. Service was fast and the staff were great! The Kimchi Cold Noodle was super refreshing and cuts the fattiness of the intestine. The beef tartare was also very fresh and a generous portion. There were only 2 of us so we had a lot of leftovers to take home haha. A solid gobchang spot!“

“I came around 7pm on a Saturday evening and there was a bit of a wait so I think I had to wait about 20 minutes. The taste of the grilled cutlassfish was good, but not comparable to the cutlassfish from Jeju Island in Korea. The bibimbap also tasted average. Seeing that a lot of people around us were ordering steamed monkfish, we thought we might have ordered something wrong. If I come back later, I plan to try the barley rice set meal. The service is good too. Since all the side dishes were delicious, I think the other dishes would be delicious as well.“

“2nd time I've visited hiro, has a nice touch screen you place your order on and pick your food up at the side. Had a nice chicken bowl and some shrimp tempura. Theirs plenty of seating. This is also one of those places where you put your own trays away on the side by the bathroom.“

“Place is ok, there are so many better places though! I would eat here if I didn’t want to go out too far. Black garlic ramen was seriously lacking flavor but the udon was good. Sushi was standard and the hoedeopbap was tasty, just didn’t have much fish. Maybe I’ve been spoiled but service was poor. Girl was trying to talk to me across a loud room and ordering was slow. It was only her working this particular evening so it might have been overwhelming. We were told at 9:10 that they closed at 9:15 (nicely told us to gtfo), but we were confused because google says they close at 9:30. Didn’t matter too much because we were about done anyways. Despite the negatives, definitely give it a try, palettes are always different. It wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t come here again, could’ve been a one-off night and I always like to give establishments another shot.“

“An amazing place that deserves more recognition. This restaurant is tucked away in a tiny strip mall by Knotts and serves very authentic southeast Asian food! We ordered the Borneo Rice Plate and Singapore Laksa Noodles, each dish was well executed and the flavors were really on point. I've had a ton of Indonesian food and this is definitely some of the best I've had in California. The food came out quickly and the waitress was very attentive. “We made a reservation for 7pm on a Friday night. Had to wait through a lot of Knott's Scary Farm traffic just to get in the parking lot though. Even though we had a reservation, we still ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes past that time, but we could see that there were open tables available. I figured since it is wide open inside, it'd be pretty loud, but it really wasn't bad. We could still hold a conversation and hear each other well, even though there were music videos playing and lots of people around us. Our servers were really attentive. Our main server had to take a break and was really transparent about handing us off to someone else. We ordered a Bloody Mary (spicy!! but safe), and a strawberry basil margarita (decent). For our meals we got the Bill Graham BBQ Chicken Pizza, which was excellent. It had lots of flavor, the perfect amount of cheese, and wasn't greasy or soggy at all. I'd be hard-pressed to order something different if we ever visit a R&B again! We also got the Blackened Chicken Pasta, which was very good too - just the right amount of spice, good flavors, and the chicken was perfect. Overall, we had a really good experience at Rock & Brews, and would come back if we're ever visiting the area again.“

All the vegetables seemed fresh, and we loved the addition of the ramen bar where we can choose from multiple brands. The meats were also overall tender. The place is clean and the service was fast. There was one female worker there who seemed very unexcited to be there and a bit cold but maybe it was an off day. She also charged us for an extra soju bottle but thankfully we caught it.“
