“Stopped by Lei Garden on a Sunday morning at 10am. It was a little busy, but still plenty of seats available for a party of two. We were shown to a table and ordered about five dim sum dishes from the paper menu. Food started arriving pretty quickly and continued coming as they were ready. Food was good and service was quick. We paid for our check before I was fully done and they started to clear the table, including my plate, but stopped when I said I was still going to finish the little bit that was left. By the time we left, there was a line at the door and the parking lot was pretty full. We would come again.“

“Take it from a Hong Kong kid...these are seriously legit zongzi that taste just like the cantonese ones I grew up with. Definitely above your typical market rates, but I promise these will be true to the OG flavors. It's mostly a food pick-up type of service where you walk up to a shared space and ring a doorbell to have an aunty bring out your stuff.Online ordering was how I did it, but you can also call/text an order over the phone. The ordering process is a bit unusual in that you have to plan these ahead of time (by about 3-days or so depending on time of week) then wait for a confirmation text on the day of. Unfortunately, impromptu cravings must likely be held at bay. Sometimes you can short-notice stuff if they have leftovers, but that's defintely a gamble. With either planning or luck, you'll then walk off with a hefty bag of deliciousness. You can have the option of getting them freshly cooked or frozen (for stocking up).The zongzi are well packaged and tightly wrapped with color-codings to the string to separate the fillings from each other. It's a bit cryptic, but you'll notice those correspond with the pictures on their ordering site. Descriptions of the fillings are true to their amount and pretty well packed with goodness (none of the mostly-rice-zongzi here). After cracking the first one open and taking my first bite, it was like that Ratatouille moment with Anton having flashbacks to his childhood (but like the Chinese version). Filled with delicious aromas and rich succulent glory, with not a dry spot in (culinary) sight. If that hasn't convinced you to at least try these buggers, I'm not sure what will!“

“Just discovered this place! Didn't know it was so close to work. It's like a little hole in the wall. What makes it a great place is their stuff is fresh. They make their own dumplings there too and you can probably watch them from outside making them. Their food tastes so good and service was super quick. We were expecting to pay a lot but the prices here were reasonable. Will definitely come back!“

“The food is amazing. We go there every week, but it’s not all about the food. Sandy and her staff make us feel like family. We truly appreciate them! ❤️❤️❤️“

“This is our go to Dim Sum spot, locally. It always great food. Sometimes the servers pass us by, but there’s these two ladies that ALWAYS come to our table. They get us what we want to eat. So, we’ll keep coming back!“

“Solid dim sum spot in Cupertino! Portion sizes were generous, good flavor and quality. The ginger scallion beef tripe was literally overflowing - have never gotten one so large. We also enjoyed the pork BBQ buns, shrimp rice noodle roll, egg and pork congee, fish balls, and peanut sesame balls. Everything was delicious. They don't push carts around here - you just order. Service was a tad slow at times, but the food came out pretty fast. Lots of seating + wasn't packed on the Friday noon we went. Was a bit expensive at ~$30/pp total, but we had some leftovers. Would recommend + will be back!“

“4.5 and rounded up. My regular go-to spot in the South Bay for Cantonese food. Quality has been generally steady since it changed ownership 6-7 years ago, with some slight slips now and then due to changes in kitchen personnel, but they've been quick to respond to regulars' comments and change chefs when necessary. (They are ESL but do their best, so be patient with them.) My favorite dishes include the steak filet choices (there are three). When the kitchen crew is firing on all cylinders (generally the case), I've never tried anything and had my expectations unmet. The interior (including the bathroom) could use some work but because of the quality of food, I wouldn't hesitate in having a dinner party here, as they know they're there for the food, not the appearance of the dining room. If you are going there for dinner or lunch during the weekend and have a large party (8+), I recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant is not very big. Service is better than standard for a HK-style restaurant; generally they will ask if anyone would like refills for water, and are attentive to requests.“

“Ok now I understand why lines are always always out the door Friday evenings through the weekend. I almost dismissed this place because of the reviews. But for a Chinese restaurant to have well over a thousand reviews is worth trying. So we walked here for dinner. The food is pricey, but the quantities are huge! The quality, the amount of ingredients, the taste are all up a notch from all the surrounding Cantonese food. It is well worth the money. Service is great as well, very friendly and fast. Its worth it to come here on a weekday when there is no crowd“

“The food was good. The walnut shrimp was absolutely amazing. Crispy, crunchy, sweet on the outside. Soft shrimp on the inside. All the other dishes were average, not bad, but not super good. They were really understaffed though. There was only one waiter there the whole time I was there. Thank goodness there were not that many people. The waiter is this elderly man. He's really nice but doesn't really talk so if you need anything you have to go to him. I kinda feel bad for him. He was serving everyone there, and at times I could tell he was stressed. At the end of our meal when my family was almost done, the waiter seemed to be in a rush, and in an attempt to take stuff off the table, he spilled water on my brother. Which is okay, but it kinda shows how much he was multitasking.“

“I was super excited to try this restaurant! It was 11:30 and the place was packed. But we got a table almost immediately. All customers were of some Asian descent so I believe that's a good sign for a Chinese restaurant. Their service was quick and efficient. The food was GOOD! My favorite were the Pan fried pork bun with vegetables and the Salt and pepper squid. The Beef chow fun with Mongolian sauce was neither spicy nor tasty. My hubby loved the Steamed shrimp and pea sprout dumpling and the Steamed chicken feet in black bean sauce. Recommend Golden Palace for a good Dim Sum!“

“We were visiting Palo Alto recently and found the Steam restaurant. Yummy dim sum! My favorites: BBQ pork buns and Sesame balls. I used to enjoy dim sum in China Town in L.A. and was spoiled by the best. I just hadn’t found good dim sum since moving out of the area. So glad we found Steam! Attentive and prompt service .“

“Amazing food!!!! For context this is a traditional restaurant meaning that some of the waiters don't fully speak English, which was NOT a problem at all. I went to the restaurant with one of my friends and we pointed to the images on yelp for the food we wanted to order. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful, even after we asked to place a second order. My favorites where the chicken feet, the taro baro, and the purple rice crispy rolls!!!“

“I just came to this restaurant with my family (9 people) we ordered a variety of dishes including the braised short rib, soup dumplings, color soup dumplings, lobster har gow, beef potstickers, quinoa and corn rice, soft shell crab, and char siu pork. All the food was excellent! I was really surprised by the quality of the food and the service based on the “mixed” reviews on here. I would definitely recommend coming to this place with large groups. The attention was spot on. They also provided hot tea consistently and checked in on us to see if we needed more drinks, water, etc.Would definitely come back here and hope more people are able to enjoy their food and service!“
