“What sets Ox 9 apart from other establishments is their singular focus on the noodles, building a menu around their acclaimed handpulled noodles. They offer 6 different types of noodles which range from small thin noodles, to mid-range, to thick flat noodles. Patrons can dine on their noodles in a variety of preparations from soup noodles to stir-fried noodles. They also offer a modest selection of sides and other items such as their juicy pork and beef burgers. The store itself is on the smaller side, and if you arrive around peak dinner hour do anticipate waiting for a table. It's also worth mentioning parking can be a bit tight here, so you might find yourself parking at a nearby complex and walking over - not a deal breaker, but definitely something to note.We arrived around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. (Note: we likely just beat the dinner rush as a lot more diners started showing up around 7pm and had to start signing up on the Yelp waitlist for a table). We ordered their Lanzhou Handpulled Noodles (non-spicy, which they were able to accommodate - thank goodness for my sake), stewed lamb noodles, and their juicy pork burger. We went with the 2nd out of the 6 noodle options, which was a thin round noodle. Both noodle soups were flavorful and comforting. While the noodles themselves were cooked well with just enough bite and chew without being overly tough. I will note given the handpulled nature of the noodles you might find yourself struggling to find the end of one of them. If you're planning to share your bowl with others at the table, you can ask the staff for a pair of scissors to help you with cutting up the noodles so it doesn't feel like you're wrestling with noodles for the entirety of your meal. Last but not least, the juicy pork burger lived up to its namesake with flavorful, well-seasoned pork encased in a delicious crisp bun.If you're a fan of high-quality noodles, then Ox 9 Lanzhou HandPulled Noodles has to be the next stop for you as it'll happily satisfy that craving.“

“Pick a small or large dish to share, rice is provided. This place has a number of dishes to pick from. The Sichuan peppercorn souerkrout fish is virtually impossible to reproduce here due to the lack of fresh green peppercorns. This is the only place that manages to make it true to the original. The numbness of the fresh peppercorns cannot be substituted by other peppers. It's aromatic, numb but not hot. Best execution of the dish I've had on this continent Will try other dishes on their list on my next visit.“

“It is great to find rice roll specially restaurant. I know there are many in California as I been living in North Carolina, we don't have much Asian food. The concept is simple, you order your food at the register then they sit you and bring your food to the table. I don't see much Chinese restaurants do this concept but it works well here. The inside is clean and felt comfortable to eat. We ordered the beef with rice roll, which tasted excellent and with many flavors, I can eat like two more orders. The slight disappointment comes Curry Fish Ball with pork skin, the curry flavor is great and fish ball tasted awesome, but the pork skin was thin sliced and doesn't have much flavor. I can't wait to come back to try different things.“

“The fragrant pot is delicious, but the price is a bit expensive (30+ per person, I didn’t take it away after I finished eating). Beef and mutton are hot pot slices, not thick stir-fried meat slices. They are delicious and can be added without any worries. Don’t order the unfamiliar meat dish that looks like a scallop, as it is fishy and bitter.“

“This is my favorite Chinese restaurant, just discovered within the last few months. My extended family always goes out for Chinese food (we are Chinese) when we get together so we've been to many restaurants in Santa Clara County. Everyone in our big group thought it was very good.“

“The food was good, they came with a free drink that was really good, especially because it’s free. The food had good beef in it. It was made really well, especially because it was hot, fresh and delicious. The service was good, and I’m not sure but we got our orders a bit wrong, but we ate it anyway. The tables in the food court were clean.“

“I've been coming here for years. We always order the House Special Cold Noodles, Oyster Pancake, and Stinky Tofu. The Cold Noodles are mixed with a special sauce that I can't replicate at home and can't be found anywhere. The stinky tofu does have smell, but it's not too bad. But the fermented paste taste is so there. And the oyster pancake is very crispy. Sometimes, I order the popcorn chicken: it's crispy and the portions are good. I also got a chance to try the spicy pig ears and pork blood cake. The spicy pig ear is very thinly sliced. And the pork blood cake has a good peanut topping. The service was fast. The ambiance is very relaxed.“

“This is my second time dining here at Uzumakiya and it has yet to disappoint. We arrived during the last hour of the lunch service and we were welcomed dearly by the staff. Upon seating we still needed a few minutes to decide what to order but our server was very patient and accommodating. the setting itself is very calm. The music choice isn't overwhelming at all and the restaurant seating is very spacious. We ultimately decided to start with the Spicy Chicken Karaage. It was crunchy with a good kick. Then we ordered the Spicy Uzumakiya Udon. Fortunately for me, it was not too hot and also rich in flavor. Overall Uzumakiya is higher up on the list for Udon places Ive tried in the Bay Area!“
