“Still the best restaurant in Los Al for over 40 years. Crazy busy but always friendly and efficient. The mesquite grilled entrees are the best and the clam chowder legendary. Recently had the swordfish special and it was fantastic and the cocktails were spot on too. There's a reason why places like this thrive while others just come and go, they alway get everything right and are consistently reliable. Others should take note.”

“The breakfast burritos are some of the best in town and their team is really good at organizing people to handle take out quickly and efficiently.Vegetarian options: The Veggie breakfast burrito is a good option. You can also add stuff to your order as you request. Extra cheese is a common ask from me.”

“Amazing local business with a passion for the product and a deep connection to the source in the Philippines. I had the Kilamansi green tea thinking it would taste like a normal tea but WOW, I felt like I was living an experience. Deep floral notes, a slight sour and sweet aftertaste. Just delicious! The owner said the (fresh!) fruit used in the tea has healing medicinal properties. Very cool, will repeat!Dietary restrictions: Alternative milks, and non caffeinated tea.”

“Best shrimp tacos. I drive over 30 miles for these shrimp tacos, always fresh and cooked to order. Birria quesadilla is another favorite dish or the quesabirria tacos. One of my favorite places to eat”

“Visited off the hook for the first time Wednesday night. The place has such a great vibe! We had excellent service, the hostess was so nice and excited to share her input and the waiter was top notch. Our meals were delicious! (Soup, lobster roll and Chilean seabass were all very yummy!) “I've been here a few times, and it's always to catch up with a good friend over brunch. There is plenty of space between you and the next table so you can talk without everyone hearing your conversation. And there's just something comforting about their big coffee mugs and the food. The food portions are huge by the way. I always take it home. I love leftovers. I don't think you can go wrong with your order. Everything I've had here has been delicious. The only thing that is difficult is the parking situation. I don't come here on busy nights because of the parking.”

“Cozy sushi spot with a huge variety of sushi choices. Even the Bento box offered a couple sushi choices vs just chicken, beef, salmon. Downside was the service was pretty bad. Hopefully it was a fluke day because I plan on going back to give it another try. My guests food came before mine...the table next to us that arrived quite a bit after us, got their food before me. Not sure how their communication failed but it did. I hope to do a new review next time I'm there and hopefully the service is more efficient. ?”

“Absolutely recommend this place. I can't get enough for f tier veggie deluxe bagel in a jalapeño cheese with bacon and of course coffee. I always call them and don't have to wait to head to work. The cream cheese is delicious and the lemon pepper onions give a great flavor and texture to my bagel. I've brought some friends over and they also love their menu. Definitely will keep coming!!”

“We used to live in the area and loved their fresh and delicious grilled chicken salad!!! We are back staying downtown Long Beach and drove all the way over for our favorite chicken salads!!! The staff is the best!!”

“I've been here before but it's 25 miles away and if traffic is bad, nah, I'll pass. I always prefer supporting the independent mom pop business! This is a tiny mom and pop shop with no interior dining space. There are 4 outdoor round picnic tables with solid sunshades. Frankly the only thing I've tried about 6 times is the chicken. It's pressure cooked/roasted so it's not deep fried. I like to think it's healthier. It's never greasy but the pieces are small. The plate comes with baked sliced potato slices with seasoned salt and a choice of one side. The side comes in a small individual serving size. I get the potato salad which doctored store bought but I like it. The pork and beans are out of a can. But sometimes I like the backyard choices with a bit of this and that. Check their menu out because they offer subs too. The food is prepared to order so if it's lunch time be prepared to wait about 15 minutes. Chicken is not seasoned. Rear parking is limited as is street parking. I wish they'd go to larger pieces and sides. Next door there is a pasties shop aka as dough stuffed with some kind of meat filling. I've only been there once and it was delicious so while you're at the chicken place getting chicken or fish and chips or a sub, you can also try a pastie.”

“MUST TRY THEIR GYRO! I love gyro's & their gyro was so yummy & really hit the spot. Their tzatziki sauce is none like any other I've tried & it was amazing! It was creamy, tangy, & tastes so fresh with high quality ingredients. Trust me, you can tell the difference compared to other places I've tried. My mouth is watering just thinking about it now. This place is a hidden gem. The ambiance was very relaxing & I cannot explain it, but any stress I had just melted away when I was there. The service was fast & everyone there was super friendly.”

“Can Mustard's "cut the mustard"? Yes, they can!I like hot dogs like I do my burgers - dragged through the garden. Give me all the onions, tomatoes, pickles & other accoutrement you can put on them. Mustard's has been bookmarked by me for a long while, and the occasion popped up where a visit was what was in order.Mustard's Chicago Style Eatery has all the trappings of a donut shop (donuts, coffee drinks, smoothies, sandwiches). But, the main draw is their Chicago menu, complete with beer & wine. Knowing a Chicago dog was a must, I also ordered an Italian beef to make sure I didn't leave hungry.Char-broiled Chicago dog-Made with a Vienna Beef dog inside a poppy seed bun, topped with pickle, tomatoes, onions, hot sport peppers, mustard, celery salt & neon green relish. Good dog! Never been to Chicago, but I believe Mustard's Chicago dog is a good facsimile, thereof.Italian beef-The highlight for me, especially with the giardiniera (ask for it). Had a difficult time choosing this or their Philly cheesesteak, but happy with my decision. Mustard's Italian beef had some heft to it, and I enjoyed every bite of the sumptuous sandwich. Dipping into the au jus at first, I later doused the sandwich into the stuff, making sure to sop up any au jus left on the wax paper, just so nothing goes to waste. Delicious!Service was good. The staff were friendly, and the wait was minimal. Ample seating inside, including tables which have a checkers board on them, for dining entertainment. The decor has Chicago memorabilia on the walls, and a TV to view the latest ball game. Parking is via a private lot, located in the Maderas Steakhouse plaza.Fuhgeddaboutit! I'm looking forward to ordering the Philly Cheesesteak, next time. Mustard's Chicago Style Eatery appeased my appetite, and I enjoyed the characteristically unpretentious atmosphere. Gives character, in my opinion. Unlike a sterile franchise restaurant that has a rewards program w/ an app. The Chicago Dog & Italian beef warmed my tum-tum, and I'm salivating just thinking about a juicy Philly Cheesesteak.Highly recommend!”

The salsa is a lot hotter, which is good, but I can’t have consistent chips w hot salsa. Love the new flavor, but I’m just old person who doesn’t like change. I hope this restaurant to be the best. But I’m old school nostalgic person who comes here time to time for old school flavor. Good, but just not for me.”

“The soup was bueno. I think I will get it again sometime:) It was nice and hot. Yum The salad received had some oldish lettuce in it. The green lettuce was greenish in some areas (nice) but some was reddish (from being cut with a knife probably a day ago or so, which needed to be pulled out) and also some brownish pieces (which needed to be pulled out). So the other parts of the salad were good, just very little decent pieces of lettuce. Next time it's soup for me. (No salad next time because I am afraid at the of lack of freshness of lettuce.) Would they be able to do fresh lettuce next time? Who knows”

“Fun little hole in the wall style Mexican restaurant down the street from two other Mexican restaurants. Reasonable prices but crazy hot salsa. They need to tame it down so people can enjoy it. Also, the TV and the sound system are competing noises. I would shut off the TV sound.”

“Tawdry little dive bar. Place to go to get away from reality. Took my coworker there, got a little crazy, left with a great memory. Racism? Not. Food, only had the food once, carnitas and the barbacoa, great, and cheap. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. Be happy you can go somewhere with a friend, or whatever, and enjoy the friend along with some great food, drink, music. And a happy staff that treats you with dignity, not a mark. Tip them good, they deserve it and they will remember.”

Would come back again!Would have appreciated less TVs as there were 3 and I like going to places where my little one would focus more on his meal.Yellowtail sashimi -was melt in your mouth succulent.Albacore carpachio- had jalapeno and another spicy seasoning on it. Pretty tasty if you're ok w spicy.Classic combo- good, nothing special. “This place could be on the first place in our personal list.We make an order for "dine in" and washed our hands using soap in the WC. Smell of that soap was so terrible and so strong that it holded on the hands till the middle of the next day (I tried to wash it out, but with no results. Only dedicated solvent helped.)I believe that meals might taste better without soap smell background.”
