“In December we ordered from here for the birthday dinner of visiting family. 8 people altogether, some foodies with high standards, one toddler, some dietary restrictions... All the food was superb! Every dish we tried was a hit. The roti curry was a favourite (family are from the Caribbean, so they had high hopes for this and were not disappointed), green curry and spring rolls were also amazing. Salads and Siam rolls were very good. When we went to collect the stuff staff were incredibly helpful and carried all the food to our car even though we hadn't parked that close by, and they gave us all iced milk tea for the ride home. Probably the best takeout I've had in the bay area for a long time.“

“I came here for a late lunch on a Monday afternoon. It worked out perfectly since we were able to avoid the lunch crowd. I ordered Thai Chow Mein with beef. It was really good, ingredients were so fresh and perfect seasoning. The service was prompt from seating us, taking our order, bringing our food and making sure that everything turned out well. Prices are reasonable especially considering that this location is on California Ave. No parking directly in front of the restaurant since the street is closed for traffic but there is a parking garage on the street behind. Depending on the time you come, you can also find street parking nearby. The place is pretty small, but they also have outdoor seating.“

“The food was actually really flavorful. This place only takes credit card and you have to use a kiosk to order, they do not take your order for you. You can tell most people order online in advance. It did take a little longer than I expected to get my food as there is no seating inside, only outside. So you have to just stand there until it's ready - it was about 10 minute wait and there were 3 people ahead of me. So it's not going to be a fast in and out like a Chipotle.Overall the food was really good with average/medium sized portions. I would recommend this to others if you are in the mood for some Thai!“

So overall, while I appreciate this restaurant option in our neighborhood, the price will probably keep me from coming back again. We got the chicken wings (excellent flavor), pad Thai with shrimp (pretty fresh, though lacking excitement), Penang Curry (our least favorite dish because its consistency was more of a soup than a curry), and mango sticky rice (we liked it although it didn’t seem authentic as the mango was hard and tasted more like an apple than a Thai mango). “This restaurant catered the recent fund raiser for the Cupertino Historical society and the food WAS TO DIE FOR! The best food I’ve ever had at such an event. Standouts were the pineapple rice, the vegetable pastries the chicken satay the pad Thai and cooked chicken on a skewer the desserts were great too - little candied strawberries and tiny slices of an amazing cake. We are staff and we were just swooning over the tastes of everything. I want to take my mom to the restaurant now“

“We came by on a Saturday night and we were the only ones in the restaurant. I did notice that they had a lot of pickup orders though. They are located in the corner of a very small parking lot. We found street parking after circling a couple of times. There were plenty of vegetarian options. We ordered the Thai Tea, Crispy Spring Rolls, Drunken Noodles with Tofu, & the Spicy Fried Rice with Tofu. The crispy spring rolls were good but just slightly too oily for me. We requested the Drunken Noodles and the Fried Rice to be at a medium spice level, but even then I was chugging my Thai Tea so just be aware. The spice level is what I want at a Thai restaurant. The Drunken Noodles did seem to have more tofu than noodles but it was delicious regardless. I think what stood out to me the most was the service. They were so nice even though we came right around closing time which we didn't realize until the server mentioned it at the end of dinner. Definitely come by for some Thai food, especially if you like spicy food!“

“This was my first visit to Shana Thai, and I chose it for a Mother's Day lunch, which we always do one day early to beat the crowds. I was very happy with our visit for these reasons: + Prices were reasonable, especially considering the large portions + Taste was well-balanced, medium really isn't very hot. Maybe a little on the sweet side... just a tip in case you don't like that. + Ingredients were excellent: The mixed seafood dish had huge pieces of scallops and fish and the prawns were probably 21-25/lb. + Service was excellent... the bartender even served my wife's margarita with an offer to make it either more sweet or sour. + My pet dish is Asian wings. Theirs were excellent! + Environment was classy - tablecloths, comfortable seating. They did not add an automatic gratuity to my bill like they did for others reviewing here. I suspect that might happen with large parties like it does at a lot of places. I'm surprised the aggregate rating is only 3.7. They deserve better than that.“

“Papaya Thai is a Bay Area treasure. My wife and I stumbled upon it while looking for a good place to have lunch after running an errand in Newark. We had Lamb Yellow Curry Stew and Pad Thai with Shrimp. The lamb was perfectly cooked in a rich yellow curry with potatoes and carrots. The meat was as tender as you can possibly imagine. The Pad Thai was mixed with a sweet sauce that was slightly sticky, which I like so the noodles adhere to each other. I don’t know if this is traditional, but really like Pad Thai like that.“

“We came on a Monday evening which is a slow night in general so the restaurant was very empty. We ordered the Bulgogi bowl, spicy pork bowl and cheese Bulgogi fries. It was a great value meal because of the amount of food there was in each bowl. The food tasted good but since it was a slow evening for them, I think a lot of their food is made in advance. Elements like the meat and the egg don't come out super hot and fresh tasting. Maybe it would be different if it was a busier night and they were making items to order. The Bulgogi cheese fries were decent but the areas with the cheese got soggy really quickly. Probably wouldn't order that again. I would recommend this place for the great value and comforting food. I just wish some of the key components of the bowls were made to order so it's hot and fresh tasting.“

“First time visiting a Thai restaurant, the ambience was so cozy. And the food was so delicious, the staff is very friendly and if it's your first time visiting, they are very helpful. We went with some of their suggestion and it was the right choice. My favorite was a spicy prawns. But they do have a delicious crab fried rice. Definitely coming back.“
