“Came for lunch with my gran about a month after my grandfather passed. It was my gran's first outing since the funeral and i was worried but our server was this adorable silver haired woman named Rebecca. She had my Gran laughing the whole time. We ordered combos and the suggested jalapeño watermelon margaritas, which were spicy and refreshing. We needed a nap afterwards because we were too stuffed! My gran won't stop asking when we can go back. Thank you South of Nicks for lovely meal, and Thank you Rebecca, for helping a family member feel normal after tragedy. You are in our prayers“

“We thought the food was exactly what we were expecting, and the cocktails were very classic. The interesting part was discovering that eggs can be fried, as we saw with the deviled eggs. Additionally, the bread on the prime rib sandwich had a nice, cheesy toasted layer. It was a good meal with standout customer service.“

We added some bacon from the mustard to our bread dipping into the blue cheese too! We sat at the bar and the bartender was not only attentive but caring. He was would happily return!“

“Okay this place is great. Food, service, unassuming location… you should eat here. Tiny strip mall on that you wouldn’t expect.I dropped in for a random lunch on a Thursday afternoon and was blown away. The teriyaki veggie bowl was great. The spicy sauce was very manageable and left me wanting more and more. Veggies cooked well and not overcooked. Chicken had some great texture too without being overcooked. A little bit of a wait but it’s worth it for fresh food!Honestly can’t wait to return! Thanks for the great food and service.“

“As a hospitality and tourism instructor the customer service was an embarrassment to say the least... Kaya appeared to be anything but welcoming. She told us to pick a table with 'two chairs only'. We selected one away from an open window since the weather was slightly cool for us being travelers. We asked if she could turn the ceiling fan directly above us off. She replied with a hard sigh, "I can turn it down, but I can't turn it off." She walked behind the counter and stated out loud to her coworker, "I get so annoyed when people ask me to turn off the fan". We just walked out to not annoy her further.“

“I have to say. My mom has never been out here and I personally live in Phoenix and haven’t been in this area in 9 years. So, we randomly picked this place and wow. I haven’t tasted something so delicious in probably 5 years. Every piece of shrimp was so tasty and juicy. I also got the Black something salmon. 11 out of 10. Every single item I ate was full of flavor and the server was amazing. Best restaurant experience my mom and I both agree. Top shelf. Just to give contrast. I’m 47 and my mom is 73. Pleasantly pleased“

“This was an impromptu lunch as we toured San Clemente and drove town to the ocean highway tp see the long and beautiful coastline in Orange County. And then we saw the pier and Fisherman's at the base. The scenic beauty of the entire Pier environment, the buildings around it, the ocean, the human presence, it was all idyllic. After walking the pier, watching the surfers, fishing aficionados, and taking in the sun, we decided on lunch and there it was. Seating at a table overlooking the beach was instantaneous. The menu is extensive and the beer menu has plenty of the local microbrews. I had an awesome grilled chicken sandwich on a focaccia and some incredibly tasting Cole slaw. Relaxing, superb service, great food, beautiful scenery and a good time. What else can one ask for?“

“Wow! Super yum to say the least. It’s always great when the new local restaurant hits it out of the park! My wife & I started with the bacon & meatballs appetizer. She then had the fried green tomatoes & French onion soup while I had the ribeye. Delicious!“

“I was looking for a quick bite before going to the San Clemente outlets and saw Surfin' Chicken Grill on Yelp. What a great recommendation for lunch. It is less than a 5 min drive from the outlets and close to the freeway. Nice size parking lot, dining space inside and outside the restaurant. It is a small shop inside a dying strip mall, but don't let that dissuade you from going. I got the half chicken and a small side of pinto beans. The total was about $14. The fresh roasted chicken, they drizzle a yummy garlic sauce on chicken before serving, came with 4 corn tortillas, a tiny cup of salsa (could have used more, but they charge for extra), some lettuce and guacamole. Chicken was flavorful though the breast meat was a little dry so the garlic drizzle and salsa helped a lot in the tacos I made. Will come again when I return to the area.“

“Awesome use of the space with the upstairs loft and video games. During our visit, there was a slight smell of maple and it was wonderful. The selection of beer was impressive. The only thing I would have preferred would have been an option for wine, as I am not much of a beer or soda drinker. Being able to see all the silos was interesting. The place was clean and the gentleman manning the bar was kind and attentive.“

“I've lived in San Clemente for 43 years and have eaten at every sushi restaurant. This is a hole in the wall and you would never expect it but the looks, but they have the freshest fish, the best rolls, and prepare everything to perfection. I would highly recommend this establishment. Honestly it's spectacular. Look at the fresh fish board and order outside the box. You will not be disappointed.“

“So happy with our ramen meal. The broth was amazing and had great flavor, the pork and eggs cooked to perfection, and noodles had a perfect consistency. I got the “spicy” and I’d say it was a 3/10 spice level, with great spice flavor. The spice came in a ball of paste on the side so you could choose not to add it all if you are a spice weenie.“

“We have been coming to San Clemente for 30 plus years and always have stuck to the main drag. Just one block over you will fine the quant restaurant and pub called The Nomad. Ample indoor and outdoor seating creat a spacious dining experience. Our family enjoyed the outdoor deck while we snacked on wonderful appetizers and cocktails. A fantastic and relaxing experience for any nomad!“

“My wife and I come back to visit a few times a year and this is a must stop. Our favorite guy is always working hard behind the counter. We LOVE the spicy mango margaritas and the ceviche. The fact that they have a dressing bar with cilantro vinaigrette, pico de gallo, jalapeños, salsas, etc. CANT GO WRONG!!“

“Rancho Capistrano Winery was a lovely restaurant located in the downtown area of San Clemente. The Brunch menu had many types of different foods for our entire party. Our waiter was very helpful in selecting a bottle of wine for our group and steering us to some of the specialties on the menu. The ambience in the restaurant was very casual, and we enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon in downtown San Clemente. We would recommend this restaurant for any type of group, and you can dine inside or outside. It was also nice to be able to walk around the downtown area after we finished this wonderful brunch.“

“A true hidden gem of San Clemente. In the downtown village there are plenty of places with long lines and a fancier menu, but few will provide something as tasty as Captain Mauri's. I get something different every time and never have left disappointed. The specials are always changing as well, so there are plenty of options.“

“I've been going to the sunrise Cafe for years admittedly mainly to just get their bacon and egg breakfast. The food has always been good. The stuff has always been kind and accommodating regardless of what stage of my life I've been in. They have free Wi-Fi and are one of the only breakfast places in town that you can get a normal American breakfast.Prices are a little high.But I've never felt cheated because of the quality of their service and food.“

The outdoor patio would be a fantastic place to split a bottle of wine with a friend and catch up. This location was well staffed too, which made the experience even better.
