“The food here was really good: the Grilled Beef Curry and the Umami Spicy Shrimp stood out for me, while the Pork Larb, Squid with Salted Egg Sauce, and Brussels Sprouts were above average as well. Fried chicken was just ok in terms of flavor, but was really crispy, which I liked. Staff provided good service, atmosphere was good for conversation, and the prices were reasonable. The only downside is that serving sizes were quite small, and my recommendation is to get a good amount of rice to pair with the dishes. 5 out of 5.“

“Mmm dumplings here are so good. Wait was only a few minutes at lunchtime and easy with the yelp app.Green bean appetizer - perfectly cooked and crispy with great pepper garnishes and flavor.Scallion pancake - solid appetizer, crispy and great scallion flavor.Juicy pork dumplings - a favorite! So tasty and flavorful, someone mentioned they were too sweet but I didn’t get that at all. Love the juiciness.Chicken scallion - ooh these tasted so good. I was afraid chicken might be dry but these were our second favorite dumpling!Mongolian beef boiled - meh, saw another reviewer say these were their favorite but I felt they were pretty bland. Like a 4/10 for us.Next time I’d love to try the steamed dumplings. We were just so stuffed!“

“Made a reservation for a large group of 8 a week in advance and was easily able to find time slots. Highly recommend that you split the table amongst parties of 3-4 if you have a large group because the plates are definitely small and not large enough for more than 4+ people. But because the plates were small, we were able to try a bunch of different dishes which is always fun. We ordered: * Tomato Kimchi - 7/10: nothing to special for me, was a little too much on the acidic side * Mulhwe Noodle - 9/10: I wish I had a full size portion of this, was absolutely delicious as it was a beautiful combination of raw fish and noodles * Uni Scallop Toast - 7/10: I do think this was good, but it's pricey ($29) * Jjimdak bao - 7/10: Little bao with chicken, but wasn't mindblowing * Soy-Glazed Potato - 9/10: great little addition with a creamy delicious sauce * Rice Cakes & Chorizo - 10/10: I'm not usually a fan of rice cakes but this kind of reminded me of pizza, the crust was crispy and chorizo super delicious * Miso Marinaded Pork - 9/10: can't go wrong with a pork dish, goes well with rice * Galbi Ribeye - 10/10: juicy and flavorful; recommend you get with the lettuce wraps * Radish Kimchi Fried Rice - 7/10: portion size was soooo small, was good but nothing unique * Chocolate Cake - 8/10: can't go wrong with chocolate cake * Banana Milk Ice Cream - 9/10: deep banana flavor that paired well with the chocolate cake Overall, great food, service, and vibes makes this an easy recommendation for me.“

“Peking duck superb. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Royal lamb on brazier good but not exceptional. Beef in pancakes good but a mistake after so many pancakes with duck. Pea shoots perfect. Food came quickly. Price reasonable — $83 each including 20% tip.“

“Our favorite brunch in SF everything is so delicious. The niloco and the Tito boy are just so good I could eat them anytime. The pancakes are of course also classic and huge.Kid-friendliness: We've brought our baby here multiple times and never had an issue. It can be crowded on weekends of course, but the food is very kind friendly and they have good high chairs.“

“My husband and I missed our connection in San Francisco due to weather in Houston and crew problems. We decided to stay at the Hyatt Regency SFO and had dinner at the Quail & Crane. They were fully booked, but kindly sat us at the bar table, where we were able to see the kitchen operating at full capacity and we met the Chefs and kitchen staff. It was a VERY PLEASANT experience after a very long day of travel. The food and presentation was PHENOMENAL!The crab cakes were the BEST we ever had.A GREAT experience that we would repeat in a heartbeat and highly recommend to all.Thank you CHEF LEIF, J.R. and ALL!“

I had two glasses and would have liked to take a gallon back to the hotel with me. I will talk about that tea the rest of my life! Enjoy your meal everyone! We will be back.“

“We went earlier this month. Food: It's world-class and absolutely lives up to the 3 stars. Everything from start to finish was superbly creative and delicious. That consistency is what sets Benu apart. Other restaurants can be hit or miss depending on the dish. I've personally noticed a trend of appetizers and dessert being great while the main courses can be lacking. Not the case at Benu. I really enjoyed everything. The kitchen showed off a mastery of flavors. Some were so subtle and delicate, while others packed the right punch at the right time. Service: Throughout the meal, Cindy (I hope I spelled that right) took such great care of us. She was so wonderful, friendly, and down to earth. She made us feel right at home. The food was already phenomenal, and she went above and beyond to make our experience at Benu even better. Cindy is a treasure. Ambiance: Cozy little location. You can see the kitchen walking in off the street. The courtyard in the front is picturesque. The dining room itself is a little simple, in my opinion, but the real show is on the plate, so itno big deal. One small gripe is that I thought the pacing of the meal was...not perfect. I tend to eat slower than my wife, but at a few points, I felt like I needed to hurry up a bit to not keep the next course waiting. Overall, an easy recommendation here. As soon we left, I knew I wanted to come back soon. Benu is 100% worth the price of admission.“

“Update - 5/5 stars. Owner reached out and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed the meals this time - the level of care and service was unprecedented. This time we got the deluxe box with fish in the box yuzu truffle version. The quality of the fish was even better than last time - all of the pieces tasted fresh. Rice was perfectly seasoned and we very much enjoyed the mix of elements in the yuzu truffle box. Thank you Jerry, we will definitely be recommending to friends!“

“Beautiful little Japanese bistro. The food left a lot to be desired though. The takoyaki is really good. I have never had such crispy texture in takoyaki before, however they are really stingy with the octopus and left the takoyaki a very doughy interior. The beef don is not good. Very greasy. The rice is overcooked with too much water so it is already too soggy to start with. The beef itself also doesn’t taste like fresh meat more like frozen. Also the entire dish is not nutrition balanced. Overall I only have a few bite and wasted most of the dish.My friends like the curry with minced beef, but I heard another customer complained that it is too heavy.“

“This super cool lounge style bar with yummy bar bites in the sunset district is the only one of it's kind on the west side of the city. The beautiful interiors have tons of seating options for groups large and small. The atmosphere is lively while still feeling laid back. The open room can get loud when busy but remains feeling intimate and cozy in the booths. Warm enough inside to get dressed up on the weekend while still casual for afterwork drinks. I absolutely adore this place and cannot recommend it highly enough.“

“Really enjoyed participating on restaurant week pre- fix menu. We ordered ordered the Curry Lamb Stew, Chicken Thai Pot pie, and Pumpkin Pork with Vietnamese Ice coffee, Ginger Lemonade and Jasmine Iced Tea. I would order the curry lamb stew and Chicken Pot pie again. Pumpkin Pork needed some more flavor. Tea Leaf Salad was better than Platha Dipper. Vietnamese coffee was the better of the drink choices. Service was great. It was the first time visiting this restaurant. We like that we can talk across the table without raising our voices. The restaurant was quiet. Thank you!!!“

“The sampler appetizer is it! And I mean is REALLY it! That crispy rice is addicting and flavorful. We get carried away and order more but should probably stop with the app. Actually the eggplant tofu dish is really tasty also; we usually get it vegetarian. The service can be a little slow at times, and is understandable. The place is clean. Not much really else. I've been several times and will definitely be back again and again.“

“Been coming here for a while now and Purple Rice has become a go-to spot for a warm and comforting meal. Definitely one of the better Korean restaurants in the city, their soft tofu soup ranks with some of my favorites from LA's Koreatown. Solid sides and appetizers, the wings and the pancakes really stand out. So glad to have this place in the neighborhood!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entrance and all the tables should be able to accommodate folks in wheelchairs“

“I only wish any of my uncles or titos could cook like this.Maybe an auntie or a tita could, but I dare not say anything bad about their cooking. Ever. Seriously. For those who know, you know.Back to this spot :Lechon is the best I've had in a while. Crispy morsels of pork belly that have that perfect balance of meat, crunch, and rendered fat. Portions are suppose to be more than bite size but it was so good, there's no way you don't eat it whole.Wings are ok. Sauced nicely but the breading is a little heavy. What really caught my attention was the all purpose sauce. To me, it's like a creamy adobo sauce and is crazy delicious. And all purpose doesn't nearly begin to describe what this sauce can be used for. To date, I have yet to find something it doesn't make taste better.Service, for the time being anyway, is pretty good considering it's a shared space.Lastly, the ambiance is at times a sports bar with all the tvs at times but then looks like (from a ton of IG pics) a karaoke party. Either way, fun.Anyways, I look forward to their new location.“

“Great service, food was excellent--it would be better if not all the food came out at one time, and we didn't have enough space at our two-top to hold all the plates. But overall, excellent corn fritters and spare ribs, spring rolls, calamari. And again, great service, thank you!“
