“Excellent service! Recommend Peking Duck, whole crab with vermicelli & prime steak with mushrooms. Excellent veggie (Yu Chou) stir fried with garlic cloves. Food was well seasoned but not salty nor greasy. Small'ish dining room so reservations are a must“

“House of Pancakes was one of the coziest & tastiest meals I’ve had in recent memory. The garlic green beans and the beef roll pancake were the most notable items for sure. So tasty!! The hand-pulled noodles were good as well, especially on a rainy day. The garlic green The food is what earned the five stars here. The service and ambiance were alright. I wouldn’t say either were notable. It took me a few tries to flag down a server to get water, but they were quick with the tea and with the food! Overall, I’d definitely come back here!Dietary restrictions: Everything I ordered was tree nut friendly!“

“Mmm dumplings here are so good. Wait was only a few minutes at lunchtime and easy with the yelp app.Green bean appetizer - perfectly cooked and crispy with great pepper garnishes and flavor.Scallion pancake - solid appetizer, crispy and great scallion flavor.Juicy pork dumplings - a favorite! So tasty and flavorful, someone mentioned they were too sweet but I didn’t get that at all. Love the juiciness.Chicken scallion - ooh these tasted so good. I was afraid chicken might be dry but these were our second favorite dumpling!Mongolian beef boiled - meh, saw another reviewer say these were their favorite but I felt they were pretty bland. Like a 4/10 for us.Next time I’d love to try the steamed dumplings. We were just so stuffed!“

“Bund is, hands down, my favorite restaurant in SF. The food is fantastic, and the women working there are lovely--friendly, funny, and accommodating. I've always found the food here to be super flavorful, balanced, fresh, and not greasy. Whoever is at the wok in the back gets all my respect. I ended up coming here out of sheer luck. Another bustling, well-known restaurant establishment across the street was my original destination. When I saw how long the line was, I decided to leave. Trying to figure out where to go next, a man passes by me. He turned to me and said, "You gotta go here. It's SOOO good." The rest is history. My only regret is not discovering this culinary treasure sooner, lol. Now, I'm spreading the word about Bund, the great restaurant.“

“Great restaurant. Highly recommend the Lazi chicken and the mapo tofu. Fresh, fairly priced, and most importantly, delicious. I will never understand the people in the reviews that go to a Chinese American restaurant and then complain that the food isn’t “authentic” enough. The food at Mamahuhu is clearly (predominantly) Chinese American and they do it very well.“

“My husband and I came across your Chestnut location this past weekend! What a wonderful find. The VERY nice gentleman that served us, the best dumplings - I highly recommend the Spicy Sichuan Wontons in Red Oil. Looking forward to our next visit!“

“Mission Chinese has some pretty solid Szechuan spice. The food can get pretty spicy and numbing, which is solid. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. We went in as a group of five and orders many dishes across the menu to share. Overall this was a solid destination for non-Americanized Chinese food at a good price.“

“We were in the neighborhood and stumbled upon DNM Hot Pot. Inside the restaurant was very spacious and the service was quite fast. Never had Mongolian hotpot before so was very stoked to try. Opted for half special spicy lamb and half mushroom and that was the perfect combo! Would definitely come back for more!“

“The food is very good but not what I expected. I’ve been watching YouTube shorts where I see “Chinese burgers” where the bun is flaky and in layers that are pulled apart to be filled with any number of things. This flaky, layered bread is what I was expecting. Instead, the bread used for the Chinese burgers is more like a larger English muffin without the nooks and crannies—not what I was hoping for. Still, the food is good, especially the noodles with tomato and egg.“

“Food was impeccable, the only thing that wasn't excitingly flavorful was the tea which was to be expected. The staff did a tremendous job of serving us amazing food. The actual service was a tad bit slow, however if you don't worry about that then I highly recommend this place. If I was in the area, I would immediately return. Whether you have kids or not, for AMAZING Chinese food this is the place to be.Dietary restrictions: Whatever your need, I'm sure they would be flexible per your request. If unsure, call before hand.Parking: It's downtown so I would park at the closest parking garage then mosey on over.Kid-friendliness: They did an excellent job of serving our children and we had a lot of them.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for entry and exit of restaurant.“

“Peking duck superb. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Royal lamb on brazier good but not exceptional. Beef in pancakes good but a mistake after so many pancakes with duck. Pea shoots perfect. Food came quickly. Price reasonable — $83 each including 20% tip.“

“We got the spicy raw marinated crab, jja jang myeon, and double fried garlic chicken. I would recommend the spicy raw marinated crab. The center was meaty and easy to squeeze out. The shell was soft enough that you could chew it to get the meat out. It was just spicy enough to be enjoyable. I enjoyed this one better than the ones I had in LA. Jja jang myeon was standard. The garlic fried chicken was okay.“

“The food was so fresh, well cooked & deliciously flavored. I grew up here and have tried many Chinese & dim sum restaurants, but this one truly impressed me. The restaurant is tucked away and easy to miss, but you don’t want to. It’s excellent. What we ordered:—Stir fried green beans—Shrimp pork and chives potstickers—Vegetable chow mein—Har gow (shrimp dumplings)My 5 year old loved the shrimp dumplings so much she made us order a second serving and said, “these are the BEST I’ve ever had!”“

“By their own standards, this place is doing a good job. I found it a little overbearing, but I'll admit, part of what comforts me about Vietnamese restaurants is being left alone. I was not. I was even given instructions about how to order next time! One person working there seemed concerned I ate only half my bun bo hue, but I truly ate all I could and then some, it was just a lot for me. I think $20 is a lot for pho, but I was fine with that, as I was expecting it. I do wish the bun bo hue came with a pork hock, but the broth and the beef were so refined, that is not a complaint. More pork blood would be nice... but, I think they have perfected what it is that they do, which is all I ever want, personally.Would go back. They seem to foster loyalty; I can see why. They're very welcoming, and the food is comforting, as someone who grew up on SFV phoGot bun bo hue because it looked like everyone else did. Was happy with that choice. All the food looked pretty good.“

“We walked in around 4 pm on a Thursday afternoon. There was only one other couple seated so we were seated right away. We had the lamb and carrot dumpling (not in soup) and thought it was quite tasty. Strong, but not overpowering lamb flavors with veggies to add some texture contrasts.“

“May 2024:Celebrated an anniversary dinner here and ordered the tasting menu. We also ordered an extra dish, as recommended, and got the whole fish. One person said it was a snapper while another person said it was a black bass. Tasted like a black bass to me.One complaint that I had was the whole steamed fish didn't taste like it was "live from a tank" fresh... Parts of the fish lacked that "vibrant" freshness. Also, the meat did not easily come off from the main spine when we were deboning the fish.Everything else was very good. Liked the fried rice that came with the fish. Also liked the chicken shrimp pig trotter dumpling and the guinea hen.I'd come back again but probably wouldn't order the fish.“
