A Chinese and Vietnamese home spun location in the heart of San Francisco and Little Saigon. Their dishes have a definite Chinese taste instead of what I am more used to eating which is a great change of pace. They have had spicy chilis in their tables since before they were trendy and theirs are some of the best. I recommend getting there early they are not open late.
I truly love these small mom and pop restaurants in SF. Tucked away in the Tenderloin (so be careful walking there), it is a pretty traditional looking Chinese noodle shop storefront and interior. They are known for their homemade noodles. We ordered a Duck leg soup and a "dry noodle" bowl. Both came out very quickly and piping hot. Hai Ky is located in the heart of the Tenderloin, which for some is a no-go territory, but as I have started exploring more and more of it, you find so many terrific restaurants despite the rough surroundings I ordered a pork kidney noodle soup, #14 on the menu.
