Came in and had the tasting menu - there was a surprise fried chicken dish which stuffed us to the brim. Each dish was excellent. The kitchen staff clearly take pride in their craft. We didn't have a single bad plate of food. The cocktails were excellent and the space is very warm - makes you feel like you're taking a quick stop in an alleyway restaurant in Japan. Anyone knocking this place must not like Japanese food. No idea how you could rate the spot less than 4/5.
I've been to Rintaro a few times, most recently to celebrate a birthday. We made the reservation a few weeks ahead of time online. This is a really cute Japanese Izakaya restaurant with great food and great decor. It definitely brings the Japanese vibes with all the wood and art. We ordered the fresh silken tofu, tuna sashimi, miso cured cod, gyoza, kabocha croquettes, the king trumpet and chicken thigh + sansho skewers, the mapo tofu rice, and the hojicha panna cotta for dessert....read full review

After circling for parking, the reward of this delicious meal made it worth it. Pro tip: Sit at counter to watch the food being made! I personally love watching the chefs, makes it feel like an experience. Food Scallops from Maine: amazing, fresh, and sweet. The yuzu is *chefs kiss* Yuzudofu fresh with a side grated ginger, scallions, flakes were absolutely delicous. Get this. Mochi tofu pouch: super comforting. This flavor takes me to Japan.
