“everything about the restaurant, from the heated outdoor dining, people who work there, the food so deliciously great especially the one that prepares and cook it, THE CHEFS, amazingly incredible they are and not so pricey above all.“

“Definitely not your typical brunch. We loved the Filipino inspired creations. Don’t skip the French toast with caviar hollandaise, crumbled bacon, and shrimp. It’s AMAZING!“

“One of the best bars for cocktails in SF. The menu is extensive and they change it up regularly so you always get something new. There is always a creative new theme and the drinks showcase their excellent mixology. They also always have several non-alcoholic mixed drinks using quality alcohol alternatives! My only complaint is that I would love more (and more elevated) options for food, but it's good quality. Even the salad is quite good.“

“As a 6th generation SF local and taqueria fanatic, I may possibly be the most qualified reviewer of San Francisco County burritos. And this really is the best BURRITO here in SF. The tacos are good but the burrito is why you should come here. Ask for all the sauces!“

“I had the famous roast chicken, which was fantastic. For those who want to eat healthier, you may want to ask them to go easy on the salad dressing and seasoning. My only complaint was that the bread salad was soaked in olive oil, and the greens were a little too salty for me. But that’s probably a personal preference.Service can be a little patchy. It was generally very good, except when I made a request regarding my seating, the server never got back to me. Kinda odd.“

“Was seated surprisingly super quickly on a sunny Saturday lunch on the sidewalk. Took about 15 minutes for a party of 4. The menu is small, but everything that we ordered was big portioned and fantastic. From the grilled cheese to the mushroom toast to the scone (with cream!) to the veggie grain bowl, everything was hearty, flavorful, and delicious.“

“We started with the crispy sticky rice salad with sour pork sausage and ginger. Spicy! Good tasting, but a tiny bit over salted. The chili lime grilled squid and pork jaw was absolutely fantastic. We also had the crispy chicken with spicy curry paste and pole beans. The lemon zest on top was delicious. Highly recommend this place in the iconic hotel kabuki in Japan town.“

“May 2024:Celebrated an anniversary dinner here and ordered the tasting menu. We also ordered an extra dish, as recommended, and got the whole fish. One person said it was a snapper while another person said it was a black bass. Tasted like a black bass to me.One complaint that I had was the whole steamed fish didn't taste like it was "live from a tank" fresh... Parts of the fish lacked that "vibrant" freshness. Also, the meat did not easily come off from the main spine when we were deboning the fish.Everything else was very good. Liked the fried rice that came with the fish. Also liked the chicken shrimp pig trotter dumpling and the guinea hen.I'd come back again but probably wouldn't order the fish.“

“I had a great time during my last visit to The Progress while my parents were in town visiting. We tried: dumplings, artichoke toast, seaweed noodles, lamb and the classic duck. The dumplings were our least favorite - it was a bit heavy and not as flavorful at the same time. I'm generally just okay on artichoke, but I surprisingly really enjoyed the artichoke toast. The lamb was tender and flavorful. I also loved the umami flavors in the seaweed noodles and thought the springy texture of the noodles were just right! Our duck was great as well, which is their signature dish - highly recommended! For drinks we tried the one punch man and spiritual state. We like both drinks! I am a sucker for trying milk washed cocktails and am also a sucker for pandan, so I loved my one punch man drink - the pandan was strong as well! We accidentally spilled the whole one punch man when we were first trying out the drink and our server was so kind to replace our drink. Lastly, because we were celebrating an occasion, we were each given a shot of complimentary peanut milk! It was a bit sweet though - not something I would order on my own. Anyway, a great experience overall!“

“Aziza is one of our top three restaurants to go to. The food is always incredible and delicious. The cornbread is to DIED for. We also loved the kefta. Though not a fan of them changing the presentation of it from these little balls to a single log. It's hard to order it as a shared dish. #bringbackthekeftaballs. Besides that, two thumbs up.“

“We had another fabulous dinner last night . The service was outstanding and the food was creative, beautiful and most of all, delicious. It is by far one the top three restaurants in San Francisco. “I can't believe I've lived in San Francisco my entire life and hadn't had Liguria's focaccia until last month. I came in right before 9:00am on a Tuesday and was able to get three slabs of the pizza focaccia ($9 each), which is what my colleague who grew up in North Beach recommended, to bring to the office. It was easily one of the best focaccia I've ever had! No wonder they typically sell out well before they close for the day. I'll definitely be back to try the other kinds. Note: they're cash only.“

“A DAMN good experience at this restaurant. From the moment you walk in you know it's going to be amazing! Service was amazing. I felt like we had 3-4 servers at all times. They knew what I needed before I knew what I needed lol. I would have given them 5 stars but I had to subtract a star because one of their cocktail straws had mold or a tissue stuck in it? Brought it to the severs attention and they immediately apologized and brought me a new drink. They even comped the drink which I appreciated. Ambience was intimate but lots of lighting which was nice. Food was delicious and well crafted. Definitely will be back, hopefully the cocktail don't disappoint next time .“

“Grade A bar I've been to numerous bars around the bay and this one takes the cake. The drinks were delicious though a bit pricey. The menu changed depending on the season of ingredients which is a testament to its quality. The food was surprisingly good! The pate and mushrooms were to die for. That, or i had the drunchies. Great service! Kind people! And the embodiment of what an sf bar looks like Big Mitch“

“After circling for parking, the reward of this delicious meal made it worth it. Pro tip: Sit at counter to watch the food being made! I personally love watching the chefs, makes it feel like an experience. Food Scallops from Maine: amazing, fresh, and sweet. The yuzu is *chefs kiss* Yuzudofu fresh with a side grated ginger, scallions, flakes were absolutely delicous. Get this. Mochi tofu pouch: super comforting. This flavor takes me to Japan. And it's so Cute! The mustard is POTENT. Clears my sinuses. Must Get this. As for grilled items, the chicken knee cartilage skewer or the chicken oysters were grilled perfectly and served hot off the yakitori grill, Amazing. Get this as well. Millefeuille katsu: this is a wonder in itself! Many layers of tender pork fried in in a tonkatsu. Beautifully cut salad on the side and so good even my friend who doesn't like salad liked it. I'd order again. Maguro yukke: I'd pass on this one. Hojicha panna cotta isn't too sweet and comes with syrup if needed (in the cutest container)! Service 5/5 amazing staff, proactive professionals without any pretentiousness! I left my credit card behind and they told me right away! Bathroom Two stalls. Designed with wooden doors and look outstanding.“

“Absolutely fantastic! The lemon ricotta pancakes are to die for. Literally! I'd take a bullet for them. Their business model and employee pay structure truly is inspiring and stands out in our Capitalistic land of greed and self-centeredness. Oh, and full brunch menu on a Friday afternoon?? Yes Please!“

“Came on a Sunday around 5pm and there was a bit of a line - if you're a party of one, you're more likely to expedite your wait time - waited about 20 mins and was sat...ordered about 5 mins after that. The seating is all mostly communal tables, but have privacy barriers. Got the A5 Wagyu Ramen (meat was def super fatty and tender and has a wow factor since it's draped raw across the bowl) and the Signature Tori Paitan (spicy). Both were good and had rich broth, but I would say I prefer the signature ramen for its mix of pork and duck chashu. Noodles are very chewy because of the mochi/wheat mix, maybe a little too chewy for my taste but overall nice spot to try ramen in the city.“

“Loved my experience here! I came here for a late valentines dinner and it was absolutely wonderful. First, the concept of the open kitchen when walking in is so nice and refreshing to see. The architecture and interior of the restaurant is also very tasteful and intimate. The lighting inside was dimly light, perfect for a date, with the centerpiece the open concept kitchen. We were sat promptly by the bar and presented with the set menu for the night. For omakase, I typically prefer being sat at the bar as it gives more of a show and has an entertainment aspect while watching the sushi chef work! It's also always great conversing with them. The head chef was super kind and funny, we loved talking with him and watching him perform his art! The menu for that night included ostumami, nigiri, and dessert. This was comprised of 7 appetizers and 10 pieces of nigiri and a dessert. Each appetizer was so delicious and very thoughtful. I appreciated the staff service as well as every time a dish was presented, it was followed by a quick explanation of the contents and their recommendation on how to consume. Highlights of the ostumami for me included the Louie salad, chawanmushi (which was one of the best I've ever had), and sunomono. The Louie salad's contents were selected carefully and each vegetable was so fresh and crunchy. It was a great clean start to the meal and I appreciated that this was the starter. The chawanmushi was amazing! Loved that they used lobster gravy and it was so smooth, no bubbles in it which showed the care put into making it. Lots of umami flavor in that dish. The sunomono was a nice palate cleanser to me before the nigiri began and I didn't know giant clam could taste so refreshing! The nigiri was also amazingly prepared and I could tell the source was high quality. Their dry aged fish was also a delightful surprise to my tastebuds as I've never tried it before. Apparently, all of their fish are sourced from Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo! The head chef explained to me how he goes and selects the fish with the owner. Honestly, watching him curate each nigiri with such care seemed to make it taste even better! Knowing the food was handpicked and crafted with so much knowledge and care made me appreciate it more. Some honorable mentions would be the drinks we had ordered. The cocktails were delicious and definitely had a kick to it. The perfect ending to tie up the night was the hojicha ice cream. I wish there was a tub I could buy because I really liked it. Not too sweet and very smooth. Overall I cannot recommend this place enough for a memorable dining experience! Would definitely come back :) (I wish I had pictures of the nigiri, but I was too busy grubbing!)“

“This mid-priced Sardinian restaurant has a lot of charm with only small flaws. When you step in, you'll find a charming compact dining area with a loud buzz of conversation. It can be hard to hear others at a table of four and I wish the restaurant had more noise dampening. Service was kind but our water glasses sat empty for too much of the meal, considering the number of servers for the handful of tables. The pork sauce gnochetti was intensely savory and had the perfect texture. My table shared some Sardinian flatbread and olives, which were as expected. The lamb tenderloin was excellent, but I wish there were more vegetables to accompany it. The roe spaghetti was excellent with interesting flavors throughout. And the whole prawns came in a generous serving, also perfectly cooked.Vegetarian options: There's a strong focus on seafood with meat dishes. There are a handful of vegetarian dishes but not a large selection. It would be hard to find vegan options.Parking: You might have to park around the block, and larger cars will struggle to find suitable spots.Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is casual enough for children above toddler age, but you may have to ask an advance about simple dishes as there are only a few that picky eaters would enjoy.Wheelchair accessibility: The tables are tightly spaced and the restaurant can be slightly crowded. If there are only 1-2 people with wheelchairs, staff might be able to reserve a table with space to wheel around. Without planning ahead, there may be difficulties.“

“I can't really call this place a hidden gem in the mission but for what it's worth, the ratings do justice to how great the food is. The cuisine and flavors and unpredictable and interesting. The ambiance is jovial, inviting, not fancy but bustling. Service is knowledge and has good insight into menu and secret menu. My favorite dishes were the mole, tacos (minus the fish one), and the churro with coconut ice cream. Highly recommend this spot, the mole is incredible! Prices are also reasonable for this type of culinary experience. Presentation of the dishes is innovative and pleasant on the eye. Daily happy hour from 4-6 is also a hit.“

“Got lucky and snatched a Saturday night resy for 4 people. F+W is currently celebrating their 15 year anniversary and had the greatest hits tasting menu available for $135 pp. Pleasantly surprised they allowed us to do 3 regular tasting menus + 1 vegetarian (we went in thinking we'd all have to opt for the vegetarian option). Portions- perfect for tasting! Did not feel overly stuffed throughout the meal (but food coma kicked in about 45 mins later). I preferred the apps/first couple dishes - so flavorful and delicate. Some of the pastas were not consistently cooked which was a bit disappointing. The dessert was decadent, loved that there was some sea salt flakes to balance it, but they could scale back on the amount. There were some huge chucks. Also wish they would include a piece of pizza bc a nearby table got one and it looked amazing! Overall loved this tasting menu experience and would do it again!“

“This place offers a wide variety of dumplings, including rarer finds like fantuan, and other hot dishes at affordable prices in a conveniently located area of Sunset. The interior is small with only a few tables, but it's a cozy spot to enjoy a meal or pop in for takeout. They accept credit card but charge a 4% fee for dine-in, which is understandable. I'm really happy I found this spot and will probably return often.“

“I had one of the best restaurant meals ever in San Francisco last night at Sorrel. The pictured dish is described as maitake / potato / dashi, the first course of seven and my favourite. The wine pairing was very good, and the service outstanding. Great celiac accommodation for me. Instead of the pasta based crab dish I got a stunningly excellent sun-choke risotto. Highly recommended for a special occasion.Dietary restrictions: I had excellent accommodation for my celiac affliction. “Had an amazing experience here!First of all it’s a gorgeous space, extremely intentional, airy, unique and feels like you are in another world. The sequence of the meals were perfectly spaced out and someone came to explain/introduce each dish.Highlights:-the cauliflower curry was tangy, filling, complex and beautifully presented. Amazing.-the Lamb Shoulder might have been the star. Extremely rich but not overwhelming. Spicy but balanced. Paired so incredibly well with the glazed sweet flatbread that came with it, that combo of rich savory and sweet was amazing, ended up using the glazed flatbread as a utensil Injera style.-the crystalized coconut crystals with chia and mango was such a unique dish. Crunchy yet soft, tart but coconut creamy. Pairs perfectly with the chai.-the fried chicken, a dryness to it but the dryness almost really worked especially with the lime flavors involved.-clarified Mango lassi drink, clear and fresh but all the flavors of a boozy mango lassi still present. Yum, curious how they clarified it.Everything else was delicious but these had me moved, will definitely return.“

“Vibe is great; wouldn't consider it anything super fancy, but a nice place for a normal date night. Food was SUPER good! Portions were bigger than expected and everything was bursting with flavor.
