“This place is 5/5! Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Their service is top tier. They gave us extra pieces of sashimi and special dishes from the chef. I wish I didn’t live so far away.Presentation and quality of fish was superb. If you are a sushi lover and in the area, this is hands down the best sushi!Recommend the butter salmon, it is not what it sounds like. It’s still raw and chilled.“

“Great quality, friendly atmosphere, definitely going to be a regular!A hidden gem in Garden Grove. Japanese owned omakase that focuses on seasonal offerings. Ben and Ayako make you feel welcome once you walk in those doors. The menu is hand written and you can see the focus and care that Ben puts with each piece of nigiri. If you want to come and get a bite, make sure you make your reservations at least 2 weeks in advance.“

“Absolutely outstanding. Instead of our usual sushi + sashimi, we went with three rolls. Angel, a protein roll (no rice), and the {gifted} salmon roll. I can’t begin to articulate how beautiful and fresh and DIFFERENT each one tasted. Everything top notch. While I truly enjoy dthe previous owners/menu {mainly because of proximity and convenience to home}, the new owners have completely revamped decor, menu, service and WOW what an improvement. My new favorite!“

“This was my first time at ROL, and I will definitely be back! The service was great, very polite and very helpful. We tried over 10 rolls, with an appetizer, the hand rolls give you the opportunity to try a lot of different varieties of fish, the portion size is perfect.“

“We've been going here pretty much since they opened and we now go at least once a week. The food is great! The prices are very reasonable. The owner always provides us with great service. A very humble hardworking individual. Always happy to see us, wants to accommodate us and misses us if we miss one week. He treats us like family. This alone makes us want to support him more. Most of the time we have the Combo B and Combo C, it's what we like, but we've also had the Philadelphia roll, Tempura and Gyoza and truly we've loved everything they've made for us. I also love that the restaurant is very neat, clean and organized. The atmosphere its very relaxing. Usually theres the nice music playing on the background and a couple of TV's. Its perfect for us. It's very rare to find all of these pluses in one place. For all the good we will continue to support it.“

“Came here with my friends after Sake2Me had closed down their waitlist, but honestly I don't regret it one bit. We had a great time here with their service and quality of fish! The AYCE Sushi price here is $42.99 for the regular menu options. I honestly think that's enough choices for that price. Food takes a bit to come out and comes out sporadically. The quality of the fish was enough to make it worth it. We gobbled up every round so quick! I have to come back here whenever I'm craving good sushi in LB.“

“Everything I have ordered has been top notch and when I order I never doubt what I get will be something that will beat my expectations. I love going here when I am looking for a good variety of sushi. I have gotten many of the rolls to share with my family and different combos that really work well together. Also they offer a great selection of extras, and great packaging for very good prices makes it the best place to choose in the area.“

“The staff are friendly. We enjoyed the Kitchen boat. The garlic fried rice with chicken was very good and tasted similar to hibachi fried rice. Brought my young nephews and they enjoyed the beef and chicken teriyaki. Will definitely come again and will try other sushi and noodles dishes.“

“First time here. They semi- divided the 2 sides of this casual restaurant where you can decide to eat sushi at a countertop or poke at a table, but we just ordered and ate everything at a table. It's nice they offer poke, spam musubi AND sushi (rolls, nigiri, hand rolls). Most places don't do that. Price was reasonable for the area. Service was good. Just sushi took longer as only 1 person was making it.The fish and poke were all pretty typical compared to other places. Hand rolls were pretty big. I thought the sashimi was fine (not bad, but not extraordinary) but my friend thought the tuna was really good.We ordered handrolls (California, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna), rainbow roll, poke bowls.Would come back again if in the area. For more local recommendations,IG: @grace.loves.socal“

“Loved every single thing we ordered here! The quality of the sushi was seriously melt in your mouth. Parking absolutely sucked, we drove around the blocks multiple times until we came up on street parking behind the alley somewhere. It wasn't terribly busy, got there around 7:30 and was seated in 10 minutes as parties were leaving. The yuzu roll was such an explosion of beautiful flavors combined in your mouth, 10/10 recommend for yellowtail lovers! Ambience was dim, not too noisy and the music was quaint. Would definitely come back to this place next time I'm in the area.“

“Came here for the first time and was surprised by the ambiance inside! Very chill modern vibe and was a great choice for a date night. Our sushi felt like it came out really fast and everything tasted fresh. I also love that they have Sapporo on draft. Definitely coming back to this location for a sushi night soon.“

“Went there for Mother's Day. The food was fantastic and plentiful. The service was genuinely warm and caring. Ambiance was adequate. The store front seemed to indicate a regular Japanese eatery. But it was way above average when presented with the food. If you want to impress your friends with delicious food look here.“

“I went here for a business meeting with someone I was meeting for the first time. We both were amazed at the quality of the fish. Just on look alone, it looked like what you would see at a high priced sushi spot. They have 50% nigiri, so salmon is like $3.99 for 2 pieces. Tuna is $4.50 for 2 pieces and the most expensive is Otoro at like $15 for 2 pieces. Typically, a 50% off sushi sign would terrify me, and I would be lying if I said i wasn't skeptical the first time I went here but I assure you, the skepticism will be long gone after you see the sushi hit the table. It tastes incredible and it was so good that after going my first time, I went again 2 more times over the course of the next 2 weeks. This sushi spot is 50 minutes from where u live in Santa Monica and I plan to absolutely return soon. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND“

“The ramen was a good size. I wish there was a combo of ramen (smaller portion) and a side. If you ate the ramen by yourself you would be too full to eat anything else. I liked that they had happy hour add on 's and that they torched the pork before serving!“

“Came here with a friend during Dine Long Beach week and tried the special. I really liked the atmosphere, location and service were all great. As far as the food, both my friend and I felt the fried oysters were soggy, and the shrimp and egg sushi were really dry. I'd rate the food 3 stars but bumped it up to 4 for service and ambience. I'd try it again but maybe with something of the regular menu.“

“Loved the food, service, and environment here! The sushi was made fresh and every roll was so delicious. The service was extremely welcoming. We had the mushroom bomb, tuna and salmon sashimi, spicy tuna roll, and more. I recommend dipping the sushi with gochujang and soy sauce if you like something spicier, because I loved it. I recommend getting the fried tempura green tea ice cream. It reminds me of Taiyaki ice cream. I loved this hidden gem and would definitely come back.“

“A well-themed and delicious spot for ramen and sushi! I stopped by with some friends for dinner yesterday and had a a great experience here. The staff were friendly and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered several appetizers including the garlic edamame and chicken karaage. I ordered the truffle garlic ramen and my friends ordered the spicy miso ramen and tonkotsu ramen. Garlic Truffle Ramen 4/5 - The broth was rich and full of truffle flavor and the noodles were chewy and had good texture and absorbed the broth well. Plenty of bean sprouts, wood ear mushrooms, and bean sprouts were in the bowl. The egg was perfectly cooked. The chashu piece was good and tender but I was hoping for at least 2 pieces in my bowl. Chicken Karaage 4/5 - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Paired well with the sauce on the side. Garlic Edamame 5/5 - seasoned well with garlic flavor and the portion size was great and piping hot when it arrived. Salmon Truffle 4/5 - quite delicious and the flavors were well balanced between the truffle, ponzu sauce, and parmesan cheese. The micro greens added a good texture and each piece was rich but but not too overwhelming. Overall, we had a great meal and the ambience was chill and not too crowded. The art on the walls is pretty unique and adds to the overall ambience and I would definitely come back again. Check this spot out for delicious ramen if you are in the area!“

“Ordered New York & Shrimp to-go, white rice w/vegetables adding Miso soup. White rice was the best part, don't get me wrong the food was good just not worth $45.14. The Teriyaki sauce tasted like it was made by a white guy trying too hard to cook Japanese food. The vegetables were cooked perfectly! I became a bit spoiled for Japanese food in HB from eating at Matsu (Beach & Talbert) since 1978, but this was okay food, I really can't complain much. I am wondering why at 7:30PM on a Wednesday night the dining room was a ghost town?!?It was the best Japanese food I've had on Beach Blvd. in HB for a long time. Matsu has gone downhill since it changed ownership in the 90's, but I think I found my new favorite Japanese restaurant to eat at in HB.I think I was happy with my food overall, I'll give it a solid 7 out of 10. If the staff were a bit more friendly, I'd give you another point, let's see what happens the next time I visit this restaurant.Good job people. ?Parking: This restaurant is located in the old HB Fire Station across the street from Taco Bell, plenty of parking but would be better if it had a little bit more lighting.“

“I stumbled onto this cute little sushi place by accident, but I'm so glad I took a chance. I had a sushi roll from their happy hour menu and one from their regular menu. Both were delicious! Can't wait to come back and try their sushi and sashimi! They have an actual sushi bar and a few tables, and the service was excellent! Sapporo on tap! Everything was very reasonable. “Only thing I would change about this restaurant is the environment, from my understanding this place used to be a hibachi grill (due to the vents on the ceiling) but that didn't have much decor and it was a bit dim. Food was great! Ordered the spicy garlic edamame, salmon roll, and crunchy cali. Edamame was nicely seasoned and the portion size was reasonable. I tried my bf's crunchy cali and it has such a nice crunch to it. The baked salmon was also very good I just wish it were spicy. I love sushi so I will definitely recommend this place, it is a bit pricey but that's majority of vegan cuisine.“

“I recently visited Haru Sushi, a to-go sushi spot that offers an exceptional experience in both taste and value for money. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. The most compelling aspect of Haru Sushi is its remarkable value for the quality of taste. The sushi, made with fresh ingredients and the craftsmanship of seasoned sushi chefs, melts delightfully in your mouth, providing a joyful experience with every bite. The ability to enjoy various kinds of sushi at a reasonable price was particularly satisfying for me, someone who prioritizes good value. However, my nearly perfect experience at Haru Sushi came with a slight inconvenience. The establishment only accepts cash and not credit cards. In today's society, where digital payments have become the norm, the need to prepare cash in advance could be seen as a minor nuisance. Nevertheless, this small inconvenience is easily outweighed by the exceptional taste and value offered by Haru Sushi. In conclusion, Haru Sushi stands out as a to-go sushi spot for its excellent taste and value for money. While the inability to use credit cards is a downside, the quality and price certainly make up for it. I am fully inclined to revisit Haru Sushi whenever the opportunity arises. I highly recommend Haru Sushi to anyone looking to enjoy delicious sushi at a reasonable price.“
