Service was great, but I should add that we were there very early at 5:30pm.Dishes were delicious with beautiful presentation. I especially liked the shitake uni udon, soba branzino and the escargot.There were so many creative dishes I wouldn't recommend the grilled meats or karage. Both were good but there wasn't anything really unique about the taste. So I would suggest trying other items that are more "fusion." Also, recommend skipping the empanadas.
I feel like people are sleeping on this place. Shimizu is a hidden gem and a great asian fusion resturaunt. I've actually been here twice. The first time I went was last summer for my birthday dinner with a friend. The service was great and food was delicious. First time to this Japanese restaurant, I have to say, weekdays are the best for dining in with less traffic/crowd.The happy hour specials are great as well if you want alcohol or appetizers.The food was amazing, sushi was on point, the grilled meats were perfect, just the right amount of marination.Dessert with the mochi ice cream topped it off!Both my waitresses Christina and Angie were professional and pleasant from beginning to end.
